Short episodes about bromance
These episodes are two to three minutes long each. There are two male leads: lead A is a doctor at a hospital who hasn't seen or met lead B for eight years. A and B used to be great "friends" (the rainbows are everywhere) until B suddenly disappeared without a trace. When they meet again, A isn't very interested in B's why behind the disappearance because he's so upset. But of course they gradually figure it out, and with them, you figure out what happened as well. The actors were great, although I'd not seen them in anything else before. The music was mostly not there, but i think everyone will recognize the karaoke song. The storyline had some holes i wish they'd filled. I wish this was a 6 hour long series, and preferably without the censorship.
I don't consider this a spoiler, but a necessity: it has a happy ending.

Hilarious gangster comedy, but not for the faint of heart nor 'prudes'
A "bro" (gangster) escapes from his potential murderers into a hair salon. where a hair washer is practicing hair cuts. After the local boss dies, the bro is quickly assigned as the new boss of the gang, and his task is to seek revenge for the killing of his former boss by an unknown group of Thai men.
The boss is head over heels with the hair washer, and decides she should now cut his hair, and everyone he knows, should too. As he tries to figure out who was behind the attack, he also tries to woo the hair washer turned stylist.
Negative points: the music doesn't stand out much unless for comedic effect, and the movie is a tad long.
Positive points:
Chemistry: You may not have thought it from the start, but man these two have great chemistry.
The sense of humor:
e.g. The hair washer does an awful job throughout most of the movie, which makes for a fun watch: everyone who cares about her, or who is related to the boss, will show up in the show with a god awful haircut, potentially in a hideous color Its a brilliant way to show who's on whose team.
Keeps it light: The gruesome parts are usually exaggerated for comedic effect, but I'd still not advise this movie to the faint of heart.
There were a lot of crude sexual references I thought were pretty hilarious in how unnecessary they were (intentionally written for sure). Although others mentioned this as a negative, I thought it was funny.
The dialogues between the gang members are hilarious at times. One of my favorite scenes is when (another) hair stylist tries to walk into the salon, but gangsters are in the way. They decide to make her learn everyone's names, and there's a definite reference to Monty Python in that scene, with a mandarin (?) twist.
The scene with the boss bro and the hair stylist at her place was hilarious, especially when he comes back later.
I did not notice a single actor who was awful; all of them did a great job keeping in character. I had literal tears streaming down my face.
All in all, I highly suggest watching this if you love adult humor and a decent plot.
PLEASE watch until the very last part of the credits, as it stays funny until the literal last second. They did the actress dirty haha.
Loved this movie so much!

Bodyguard vs heiress vs evil characters= 'steamy' romance?!
The main premise of this 30 episode short series is that a rich temporarily blinded heiress is being aided by a new bodyguard. The bodyguard conveniently happens to be extremely good looking, and takes off his shirt every chance he gets (to be fair, he's got one of the nicest bodies in chinese dramas!). The heiress, however, has a fiance ... who is quickly revealed to have a secret.Of course the heiress and the bodyguard fall in love, but there's more to come, as there as well there are some secrets!
The story had an average plot with enough details for the 30 10-minute episodes. I was not bored and I could follow the story's pace. The show did contain a LOT of tropes: pushing each other away in order to help the other, the walking in the rain umbrella thing, the wounded warrior who needs his chest wound tended, etc.
There was some overacting from all actors eventually, even though they also had a chance to show they could act well. I think in some of the buildings they were rushed through the filming, maybe due to time constraints, as the same background usually comes with a bit of overacting.
As usual, these short dramas don't have enough character depth (usually, good remains good and evil remains evil with little change), but there is some shifting of roles throughout, keeping me entertained.
It's also more than enough to show that this main couple deserves their own full-length series.
Although some of the lines made me cringe and others made me laugh out loud due to the ridiculousness, I was hooked until the end.
Watch this if you don't mind an average plot if the chemistry between the lead couple is AMAZING, and they kiss a lot and deeply (albeit still chaste enough to be for teens). They both seem like good kissers, basically, but especially HE knows what he's doing. He reminds me of a mixture of Kim Seon Ho and Ji ChangWook.
They must have had an intimacy consultant on set, as both of them seemed very comfortable with each other during intimate scenes, and I noticed there was a pillow or blanket between their groin areas when he was lying on top of her and kissing her at length. That's a sign of good actor guidance to me, and respect for each other's bodies.
Lastly, I'll follow both these young actors as they both have the physical attributes and the acting skills to make it big if given the chance. I'm personally rooting for them, separate or together.

Mini series that feels like a movie, with a good cast and an excellent wardrobe.
This mini series has 103 episodes of roughly 2 minutes. I watched this in one edit on YouTube, which meant a lot of the sound quality was worse than was intended (e.g. people clapping sounded like rummaging). But putting that aside, the main leads were attractive and had decent chemistry. The female best friend is someone you love to hate. The story is interesting enough to keep you entertained. There's little to no other storylines in this, and everything seems to relate to the main plotline, which I appreciated. The ending was dramatic but they actually discussed that ahead of time why they did that. This series felt as if watching a movie, only noticing a new "episode" when there's a slight pause.
The clothes of the men and women are excellent. Even the evil women get to dress up prettily. The wardrobe team deserves a raise. The makeup up was excellent, I didn't even notice it on the guys.
If you normally love mini series with absurd plots and hunky men who take off their shirts at least a few times, you'll like this show. The romance is less at the forefront and there's much less kissing in this than normal mini series, but the shirtless man could compete with dhaozheng for sure (iykyk). The latter does have better chemistry but the acting skills are similar.
Give it a chance but try to find an official well-translated version as the YouTube version is awful at the machine translations, and I noticed they have two or three scenes in the wrong place.

Lots of character depth
This show starts at school and follows our main cast afterwards. We see them all fall in love, break up, etc. The thing i loved most about this show is that every main character (there are about six) has a very distinct background that explains why they are who they are, and they delve into it without hesitation. All of the characters feel like real people living their own world in their own way, and not two-dimensional figures who move the plot along. After roughly twenty five episodes it does start to drag on a bit, but they take ample time to build to a satisfying happy ending (i don't consider that spoiling, sorry).
I enjoyed the main female lead in other shows, and had never seen the main male lead before, but I'll look for him now.
The music was a bit repetitive. The first few episodes you fall in love with it, but then the same tune gets annoying. Some camera work made the imagery dreamlike, which i wasn't a fan of, but it was part of the film style.

Lots of kisses, mix of romance and thriller
The story revolves around a woman who takes the place of her famous twin sister to participate in a dating show. Her enemy stops her from pairing up with the guy she wanted, so she decides to approach another guy with a fake dating contract. Unfortunately, or luckily, for her, he's not the other guy, but the ceo of the hotel, her first love. Aside from the romantic development there's also a subplot about an SA event in their youth. The assaulter seemingly comes back to haunt them all.The main leads were a terrific match: i could feel the chemistry overflowing. Her eyes are amazing; his face looks great in 90% of the shots but sometimes they messed up the styling or makeup, making him look less attractive. They kissed a LOT for a cdrama, and the kisses in the last episode were almost steamy with the thigh action going on. The kisses aren't very chaste pressing off the lips, but actual kisses. The show had some production errors, which is not uncommon for a mini series (most notaby, the book he's reading upside down). Overall, i enjoyed the mix of romance, light humor, and thriller. I want to see both leads in another romance where they have more chance to develop their characters.

Fever dream
What a wild ride of a fever dream this show was. Quick successions of shots, the story was rushed and fast, like watching Cliff's notes of a drama. I bet this would make for a wonderful full length drama. There is plenty of action in it.Despite the very short (1 minute to a minute and a half) episodes I was easily able to follow the story, which means the editing was done well.
Some of the lines are a bit cringe, and most of the evil people are overly evil. Overall, a simple fast watch before bed if you crave a story for the idea and not the execution.

Esports drama, bromance, romance
With a more complex script, this Chinese e-sports drama could have been amazing. The actors are fantastic for their age, and they all had good chemistry with each other. I especially loved the team members looking out for each other, and the "brother" of the female lead eventually befriending the boyfriend (male lead). The storyline was mostly typical of a Chinese e-sports drama: China needs to win the championship in whatever game they are competing in. In this drama, the videogame was a type of shooter game a la Call of Duty. I liked that the game was easy to follow without having complex strategies; this can otherwise be off-putting for people who never played the game. The scenes of the in-game part was done realistically (the team members running around with in-game guns and "shooting" the enemies). instead of CGI, and I am grateful for that. They used a bit of CGI to show where someone got shot, and instead of blood, they used a red outline around the body parts that got hurt.
Another thing I enjoyed is that the team members were all important. It is not the male lead who pulls the entire team, but it is actual team work with members who have their own strengths. I dislike it when an e-sports drama talks about teamplay a lot, but then they all rely on this one genius player. I am glad this was not the case here.
Then the less good stuff: Some of the editing was choppy, making the conversations less natural than they could've been. Sometimes, some of the actors would speak too slowly and clearly, which makes me wonder if there was a lot of background noise during recording, and perhaps they had to rerecord some of the dialogue. The story unfortunately also lost steam quickly, so after the initial thrill of the main leads meeting and finding out the male lead's "secret", you just shrug your way through the next ten episodes, and then it would pick up again around episode 18 or so.
Overall, an okay watch if you are into e-sports dramas, but I would skip it if you are not and go straight to the actor listing to pick out the main actors and go find other dramas they are in.
