Loved it!
It did not take long for me to get into the show and fall in love with the main leads. Usually, it takes at least 10 episodes for me to start falling for a chinese drama, but with this one, it was immediate. I patiently waited for this drama to air, and I'm glad that it did not disappoint. I was actually a bit hesitant to start this one after reading some reviews saying that it was not able to measure up to the expectation (considering its director and the casts). I'm definitely glad that I did not listen and decided to give this drama a chance because I genuinely enjoyed it as a whole.I find the chemistry between the leads strong very early on. The drama was able to set up a strong ground for love to blossom between the leads. It did not feel rushed for me. The male lead's coldness is justifiable. I can understand where he's coming from-- why he has to act as if he does not care about the girl and push her away at some point. He has to go that extra length to protect her. It's kind of a common formula for dramas but I don't mind it because it was executed well.
Some say this is very similar to Ashes of Love in many ways. And personally, although I have watched Ashes of Love about a year ago, I remember little to nothing about it. So, the similarities does not affect me at all.
I truly enjoyed this drama and would recommend it for everyone.

It was a pretty enjoyable watch. (For someone who have not read the manhua and watched the anime)
Tang San, the male lead, has had my heart from the get-go. He's definitely the "Protector" type of protagonist who is all about putting everyone else's safety above his own. He's smart, selfless, kind, and has a great sense of justice. He immediately occupied a space in my heart and I think this review is a bit biased because I love him too much.As for the female lead, honestly, I did not like her much in the first few eps. Maybe because the chemistry was just not there for me. Them sticking together at the very beginning felt rushed.
So for the first few eps, I watched the show solely for Zhan Xiao's visual and the friendship that's slowly forming in the show. I think it was already on the 15-20 episodes when I started to feel a spark of chemistry between the leads. I started to understand the personality of the female lead and her character has definitely grown on me. And they started to look good together too. Some people have a hard time getting past their sibling relationship which I understand as well because the show's focus is not on the romance so there's really not much going on for them as a couple.
Overall, I liked this drama. Not gonna say it's the best drama out there but it did serve its purpose of entertaining me. I truly looked forward to every episode and there were times when I felt frustrated when subtitles took too long to get uploaded. I loved it. Definitely gonna wait for season 2.
