Having watched my fair share of Chinese Drama, I always find some will be either predictable, boring in the middle or story plot declining towards the end. It has been awhile when I found so many excitement in a drama until Lost in 1949. I watched this drama when I was binge-ing Chen Kun after his comeback in TROP. As stated in mydramalist, The Lost in 1949 is about the Communist spy in Republican era, but I think it's so much more. For me, it's more about family, slice of life, with a bit of spy for spiciness.

Story wise, Lost in 1949 is about a woman who was going to visit her Communist husband but later found out that her husband was dead and afterwards she got involved with a street smart funny guy. There weren't a lot of "twisted" plots like any spy drama, as for me it's more of how two people met by chance then became the best friend that everyone wishes they would have in their life. It's not a refreshing plot, but the dialogue and script would make us sit tight and had great laughs.

However, I must admit, what really carries the show is Chen Kun's acting. He played polar opposite twins and he acted so well you will think that they are two diff persons. For Regina, I have never watched her drama before, I didn't know if she always carries that sad face or her character in this drama demands sad face all the time. But she is decent.
Well, if you are coming from TROP, you will also recognize several faces in this drama.
Notes: Bad guy will still play bad guy (duh!)

Music in a drama has never been something I focused on, because a lot of time I find that I love the drama first then I will learn to enjoy the music later. One thing I can comment on Lost in 1949's music is it carries a lively catchy tune that will make you hummed along.

Overall, Lost in 1949 is a hidden gem for me. It is an underrated drama, since I have never heard anyone mention about this drama before. I am thankful that someone subbed it on youtube and I urge everyone to check it out. Lost in 1949 will make you laugh a lot and tear a bit while it is all worth it.

As a kdrama fan myself, I seldom write a review for the dramas I've watched. However, I really think I should write about one of the best melodrama in 2015 and give my biggest appreciation for MASK.
MASK started off with a "Yeah, I know it will go that way" story plot, I admit I even thought of dropping it off for the first 10 minutes. But thank God, I did not, because the next 10 minutes was what made me engaged.

Despite of the not so original story plot, what made this drama worth watching was the world class acting from Yeon Jung Hoon. I had never checked out his drama before and I watched this drama because of Joo Ji Hoo. But, Yeon Jung Hoon did a very well done job on his character. His character, Min Seok Hoon, who is a villain, happened to be the first villain I really fall in love with in a drama.

As most people, we never bothered to hate, despise, and berate the villain. We did that, done that.
But, oh boy, I was wrong. I really fell in love with Yeon Jung Hoon and the character he portrayed! I tried to hate him, but no no just couldn't do it.
Min Seok Hoon was a villain (of course!) but he loved Seo Eun Ha like a man loved a woman, despite of all the crazy plans he proposed. One moment he would put on his mask as an evil, another moment he would show that he somewhat cared for Byun Ji Suk (the Doppelgänger), then the next moment he would shed his tears for Seo Eun Ha. This man is just beyond crazy! I just have to give a standing ovation to Yeon Jung Hoon to act this well.

I will not discuss any other aspects from this drama, because the main reason why I decided to write a review on this drama is Yeon Jung Hoon's acting. Well, the other actors in MASK are not that bad, but still, Yeon Jung Hoon deserved a round applause followed by awards because of his actings, he exceeded my expectation.

If you are looking for a melodrama with great actors this 2015, you really should check MASK out. The acting from the actors itself will make you stay put and watch the whole series you just couldn't stop.

Scarlet Heart Ryeo is the kind of drama that you wished it won't ended that fast. Not because of the rush story plot (I think it's well paced), but mainly because everything about this drama is so good you wish there will be more. That is why I am writing a review only few hours after watching this drama last episode.

As far as the story goes, I am glad. I am glad that they didn't try to change the history of Goryeo and the original version of Scarlet Heart China just to make an ending that will please all the hardcore fans (because many people, including me, who wish there will be one happy ending). I am glad the production team decided to stay true to the original version and produced this drama as a really solid piece of a remake drama.

I can't even start describing how good all the actors portrayed their characters. The development of each and every important characters are there. From the good, to the bad. They really did it well. I love all the actors, although I know I will leave Scarlet Heart with a deeper love to Joon Gi. I started this drama as a Joon Gi fans, and when I watched the first episode I did worry slightly: How if I don't love him here? Am I expecting too much from him?
But I am so glad to breath a proud sigh of relief, as Joon Gi has done a very good job as usual. What I love about him is that he can tackle countless roles and characters which is what is very clear here, by displaying elements of being an heartless to many yet caring prince becoming a somehow "cruel" king in the end.

Now, although I have watched a lot of K-dramas, I am not the one who will listen to their OSTs, until Scarlet Heart Ryeo. I can't stop playing and replaying all the tracks in my phone even when I am writing a review for this drama. All the songs works very well with this drama and I really enjoy listening to all of them. I know I do, since I have been humming ever since.

Well, enough said, I know I will rewatch this drama. Simply because this drama is almost flawless in its delivery - well executed story plot, excellent casting, and brilliant soundtracks, with each episode leaving you wanting more. Recommended!

Well, I picked up this drama with no expectation. I did not ship the actors and actress, and I do not even know how good Jung Kyung Ho is (apart from his pretty face?). But I glad I did watch this. Story wise, is just another drama with a bad guy turned good after getting a heart transplant who happened to be the girl's fiancee.

Now apart from the "Yeah, I know it will turn out like this" story, what makes this drama worth your time? It's the acting. Should I restate how good Jung Kyung Ho played his character here? And Kim So Yeon also did a very amazing job with her role. For awhile, I really shipped this couple and really believe that maybe somewhere in Korea and sometime near in the future they really love each other and is getting married soon (LOL).

This really is a good drama worth watching just because of the chemistry and acting from the main actors, especially Jung Kyung Ho. I know I will be start watching all his previous dramas, because of what he had offered in Falling for Innocence.

Chinese Historial Drama has never been my go-to drama before this, but the decision to watch this is a decision that I am not disappointed at all. I binged watch the 70 episodes in only a week during quarantined!
What I love the most from this drama is how smart the plot is. The clever plot, interesting story line, and beautiful scene. It really is a must watch for all drama lover.

Story wise, the FL is so smart and witty, I am always being surprised. From the first episode to the last, there isn't any plot that I don't like. It is also very rare to have the kind of story where FL is this strong.

As for the casts, they are amazing. They really act well, nothing chessy, nothing too much, and less. They are perfect! I love the female lead, the emperor (even more when he acted childish around the FL), I even love the second male lead (ok, i kinda wish to find a guy like him in real life, although I ship the FL with emperor in the drama)

Music part is interesting, I won't spoil much, but you will be suprised the first moment you listen to the music choice for this drama's opening. And for this, I appreciate the music choice and varieties.

My rewatch value will be high, as I will only write lengthy review for drama I will re-watch (lol!) anyway, i will just say, watch this drama and prepare to be suprised of how well written it is. (not to forget, smart!)

Well, I don't know where to start. I love this drama!

Why?
First, the story is good. It's about how to overcome a disorder and to not give up on life. As a psychology major, I can say that they did not exaggerate the symptoms. The writer also wrote a very good script.

Second, my favorite part and I can't wait to give my standing ovation to all the casts. The actings are world class! Both the lead couples show a great chemistry and how I love the Bromance in this kdrama. They really nailed it.

Third, Music? They have the best OST in 2014! I like all the songs, I have them on my playlist and I listen to them everyday. I should say they have the best soundtracks ever!!

Lastly, I guess I have a confession to make: I have watched this drama twice now. In just a month. You read it right, a month and I watched it twice, without skipping a single episode in my second times.

And I will still rewatch and rewatch and rewatch it.

Wow! I am impressed!
Watching this drama for the first time without any expectation, never did I know how much it will hooked me up! Leaving me waiting and wanting for more every week, so I decided to write this review.

To start off, I would like to give a round applause to Park Bo Young. Man, this girl can act! She did a very good job portraying both a humble, no confidence human and a silly, extrovert ghost. She made me enjoy every moment with her on screen. One moment I will cry with her, the other I will laugh hard with her.

Another thing I'd like to write is regarding when some might say that Jo Jung Suk and Park Bo Young have a very silly romance here, I disagree. I ship them. They hugged whenever they felt like they wanna hug, and kissed whenever they felt like they wanna kiss. They really looked like a real life couple, falling in love with each other character, at the same time, making me falling for them as well. Jo Jung Suk's character loved Park Bo Young's so much, I wish they were real.

As for the music, this drama did offer a subtle and engaging ost. They did not surpass the goodness of this drama itself, and that what made it worth watching. It's like they want you to focus more on the drama (story plot and acting) and not overly done on the ost. It's just feel right and just nice.

Well, I can go on and on declaring how much I love this drama, for the first episode to the satisfying ending, but at the end of the day what I really want to say is GO WATCH THIS DRAMA!!! Like NOW!

To cut the crap, there is only one reason why you should give this drama a try: CHEMISTRY.

Love Advanced Customization is the only on-going drama that I followed this month, and I am so glad I did. It was not all for the positive reason though. But I think this is the kind of drama which you have to take time in order for you to indulge in.

This drama, first, is so great with their leads' acting you almost believe they were really dating. The main leads's love story is realistic, the way they potrayed their dating life is believeable. And for that reason, this drama is bearable.

Now, here's why you have to take time to watch this drama: the plot. It's nothing new, it's predicatable, and borderline boring. And that is the only problem with this drama.
I, myself, am lucky. Because this was an on-going drama, meaning I can only watch up to 2 episodes a day. With this limitation, I didn't find it that boring. I enjoyed the chemistry that I almost forget that the draggy plot is really a problem.

The not-so good plot was being "saved" not only by all the believable acting but also the ost. The OST for this drama is very good. It's been awhile I fell in love with C-drama OST.

So, if you want a realistic dating approach in a drama with the best chemistry ever, then you should give this drama a try. My only tip is do not binge-watching it or else you would find it boring later.

Breath of Fresh Air

Contemplating for days whether I should write a review for a drama I have re-watched numerous times since it aired. To be honest, I do not know how to review this, not because of it flaws, but I have nothing to complain about. Literally NOTHING!
ETERNAL LIFE OF DREAM (The Pillowbook) is damn good!
I really enjoyed this drama, so much, even more than the parents story (aka eternal love). The first drama for years that make me rewatch God knows how many time within months and I still can't move on.

Story wise, the drama followed the novel to the core. And it is a great adaptation. It was a breath of fresh air in this situation as everyone is stressing over virus and this drama manages to captures heart of millions because of how light-hearted it is. The romance between leads are very cute and sweet, you feel like snuggle between them!

But obviously , the main reason is THE CAST!
They were all that great you won't believe they are actors. They drew you into their stories as if you were really there and feels what they felt.
Salute to Vengo who did great in potraying 3 diff characters that feel like 3 diff persons. Vengo really exceeded my expectation and he has become one of my fav actor as of this moment!
Dilraba is also so beautiful and cute that I can't stop admiring her cuteness.

For this two main reason alone, rewatching value for me is high and let me tell you, for someone who rarely rewatch any movies and dramas, I have rewatched this drama 3-4times during quarantine (and the quarantine has not ended yet so I think I will get back and rewatch it again now, duh).

Just go watch, and rate later. I think you will also enjoy the ride well, the very least adding more giggles in your life at this time is a bonus!
