This drama has a season 2 scheduled to air in 2024, and season 3 in pre-prod.

It's always nice to find a drama that doesn't fall short towards the end. I think a lot of dramas now, especially chinese period dramas, either lean too much into romance or palace politics and can't get the balance right. This has a little bit of everything, while at the same time focusing on special cases that tie up nicely towards the end for the bigger series arc. There's going to be a season 2 this year (hopefully), and they're already working on the script for season 3. Here's to hoping they keep this storytelling up.
