I don't need to write a review because there are 18 reviews already. However, I like to tell my future self why I rated a drama the way I did. So, here it goes.

Scarlet Heart is seriously addictive. I think I watched most of it in a weekend. I just couldn't stop. Historical dramas are not my favorite, because I hate politics. SH has politics, but it is a love story. A great love story. First, the costumes, settings, and overall cinematography is outstanding. It is beautiful and easily will transports the watcher to a different time. It is love from every angle in a variety of relationships. No one is perfect and the character development and dialog between the characters is meaningful. Ruoxi is a great female lead. She is strong and caring. Crazy that the thought of suppressing your emotions can kill you, but it can. I love her character. When you watch this, I am sure you will pick a favorite prince. I have my favorite also. From favorite to least favorite is 13th, 14th, 10th, 4th , 8th, and I hated the 9th prince. The 8th and 4th princes are fools. I sympathize with them and I get that they are ambitious and there is nothing wrong with that, but they gave up so much happiness for power. In the end I felt they got what they deserved. If someone had taught them how to love, then maybe it wouldn't have turned out this way. I get that the Emperor had a lot on his plate, but he created the mess. I had a problem with the cruelty of the Emperor and the 4th prince. I was emotionally invested in this drama from start to finish.

I don't know anything about the actors. I don't usually watch Chinese dramas, but I thought they all did a fabulous job. Liu Cecilia is beautiful and I was totally engrossed in her character. Ye Zu Xin is too cute.

I like the music a lot although a few times I wish it was just them talking.

I won't rewatch this but it is rewatchable.

I recommend this drama to everyone. I don't even like historical dramas and I loved this.

The synopsis for this drama doesn't really tell what it is about. It isn't just about a girl that is a fan of H.O.T. It is about love, family, friendship, and life. It does go back and forth in time and at first I was trying to keep up, but realized that you can ignore all of that and still understand the story.

The story is really sweet and heart warming. I don't think that I have watched anything like it. There are no mean ex-girlfriends or hateful moms. It is refreshingly simple and strong. At first I thought that Shi Won was really stupid, but later you realize that she is just innocent and has been somewhat sheltered. All of the characters are unique. The family dynamics and the bonds of friendship is really well portrayed. There is also a little mystery until the end. I think like me that you will all figure it out before it is over, but still it is there.

The actors are really good. Seo In Guk was excellent in his portrayal of Yoon Jae. He played a role in Love Rain and was good in that too. The characters are way different and I think he will be a great actor and hope to see more of him in the future. I also thought Jung Eun Ji did a good job as Shi Won. I think she is new and you can kind of tell, but she is very promising. Ho Ya also did well playing Joon Hee. I loved his character the most. I think with some experience all of these new actors are going to be really good. I won't go through the list of actors, but they were all good.

The music is awesome in this drama. I love to be able to sing along.

I probably won't rewatch this drama. I do recommend it as a good watch. It leaves you with a good feeling.

This is a fast paced drama from beginning to end. The reason I gave it a lower score is the first 6 or so episodes of stupid cops and prosecutors. Luckily, everyone gets smarter. Jang Tae San is a well written character. I enjoyed most of this drama and was completely satisfied with the ending.

Lee Jun Ki is an excellent actor. He went through the gamut of emotions as Jang Tae San and did it well!!! Kim So Yeon is one of my favorite actresses. Her portrayal of Park Jae Kyung was right on. The other actors are good too. That little girl as Soo Jin is too cute. I loved how they had her play Jang Tae San's conscience in some scenes.

The music is fine.

I might rewatch this in time.

I recommend this to people who like thriller/action dramas. Once you get passed the stupid, it is a great drama.

Don't watch it. They cut off the ending by two episodes. The story is just a combination of You're Beautiful, Dream High and other such dramas. The acting is fine as is the music, but who really cares when there is no ending. I can't believe these people just left me hanging like that. You really will get upset if you watch this whole drama only to find out that the last episode doesn't even wrap up the story.

Stupid people that made this drama suck!!!

School dramas aren't really my genre. I watched this for the eye candy. I was really surprised by an excellent story line. It encompasses a lot of what high school kids have to deal with. The bromances are especially awesome. It gives a look at how teachers are blamed for things that are totally out of their control. I mean really...how is a teacher suppose to make a student learn? It is impossible unless the student wants to learn. It also shows some of the pressures that parents can put on kids with out even realizing it. From child abuse to just plain every day teenage mistakes...this drama gives a realistic view into the lives of parents, teachers, and the teenagers.

I really enjoyed the teachers Se Chan (Choi Daniel) and In Jae (Jang Na Ra). I think they did an excellent job portraying the hardship that a teacher can go through while trying to teach their students while caring for their well-being. I also enjoyed the students...all of them. Kim Woo Bin is an excellent actor. I hope to see him in more dramas. His portrayal of tough man Heung Soo was well done. Lee Jong Suk plays Nam Soo to perfection. Who knew that under that sweet face was a fighter. I also really thought that Kwak Jung Wook does an excellent role as Jung Ho. His character is the one I felt for the most. It must be hard to live that life and I think that you can understand that better due to his character portrayal.

The music is good.

I Probably won't rewatch this.

No matter what genre you prefer, this is a drama that is enjoyable for everyone.

I'm not the kind of person that likes romantic comedies, but this is an exception!!! This drama takes all the romantic comedy cliches and turns them upside down. I love the concept that we all live in a world with our eyes half closed so that even as we see reality, we can still dream. This isn't just true about love and money. This drama made me laugh and cry...yes, cry. Something I rarely do while watching a drama. Some melodramas can't keep me as emotionally invested as this romantic comedy did.

Park Shi Hoo as Seung Jo totally blew me away. He was funny and just too cute at times, but when it was time for him to be serious it was flawless. When he cried it could be heart wrenching. Moon Geun Young as Se Kyung was also great. Her character was sweet and caring, hard and strong, insecure and scared, confident and secure. She portrayed everything and shows that there are different sides to everyone. Will Kim Ji Suk ever be the male lead in a drama??? He does so well as Tommy Hong, but I want him to be in a drama where he gets the girl!!! At first I really thought I might end up hating Yoon Joo played by So Yi Hyun, but I really ended with understanding and found her character redeemable. I totally hated In Hwa played by Kim Yoo Ri. She is just hateful for no reason. It isn't like she was in love and wanted to get the guy. I get those characters. She was just ticked off because she "lost" to some one that she felt was beneath her. bbbrrr She gives me the heebee jeebees. The other secondary characters were good also.

The music was good. You should totally check out the OST Love Like This by K.Will. It is awesome.

I would totally rewatch this in a heartbeat. I think that all romantic comedy lovers would enjoy this drama...even those that don't usually like that genre can appreciate this drama.

Although the story isn't original, it is well written for the most part. The story has holes and it is far fetched, but it is worth the watch for enjoyment and not to be taken seriously. Also, some of the pace was a little slow. There are tons of sweet romantic moments. The comedy, angst, action and suspense are well balanced. The character development is also believable what there is of it.

What makes this drama worth watching is the acting. I admit that I am a huge Jung Kyung Ho fan and I watch everything he does. He didn't disappoint as Kang Min Ho, I loved his surprisingly upbeat characteristics as well as his cold demeanor. I am also a huge Kim So Yeon fan ever since I watched IRIS. I like her understated way of acting, like she is really Kim Soon Jung. They had pretty good chemistry together. Yoon Hyun Min was great as Lee Jun Hee also. I had no idea that he could play such a character. Most of his characters have been pretty light hearted, play boy types. The other actors were good also. I adore Lee Shi Eon.

For the most part the music is good, but it got on my nerves some.

I won't ever rewatch this unless it is to watch the sweet romantic moments.

I recommend this drama. It is enjoyable.

Are they kidding me with that ending? There are so many things that I enjoy regarding this drama. The dialog is really good and the character development is excellent, but there is just something missing. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but I think it is that I don't like any of the characters. I don't feel anything for them, I wasn't routing for anyone to win. I was mostly routing for one particular person to lose. Some of the story line felt like the writer lost the point of the drama. Actually, even right now I am not sure what the point of the drama is. If your greedy, then you lose everything? These people pretty much sold their souls and their loved ones for money. You should be equal with your children so they don't try to cut each others throat? The family was only loyal when they had to be. Except the one character who wasn't greedy and loyal to a fault. If you fail, then you might as well die and if you win, then you are alone anyway? Seriously? This is my biggest problem with the drama. Why would someone so strong stop like that so suddenly...what 12 to 15 years later? I also think the writer lost a few possible ways that would make this story more enjoyable. To say nothing of the fact that they must have had a low budget, because the sets are pretty much revolving. That stupid breakfast table. LOL Anyway, I'm just glad it is over. I feel strung out and somewhat disappointed.

The acting is what makes this drama worth watching. There really doesn't feel like there is any tension in the story line and it was created by the actors. I'm a huge fan of Soo Hyun Joo and he didn't disappoint as Min Jae. Go Soo as Tae Joo and Lee Yo Won as Seo Yoon are also really good. I don't know if I was supposed to feel so much hate toward Seo Yoon, but I did. The one character I was routing against was her. I hoped she would lose everything the entire drama. In a way she did. There are tons of other good actors in this drama also.

The music is really good and appropriate.

I will never rewatch this.

I think some people would find this boring. If you like great dialog and good acting, then this is the drama for you.

I really like the story even if it has been done a million times. I think that the cinematography for the 70's was fantastic. Although some people said that the beginning was slow, it is the part that I enjoyed the most. This is a love and lost story and a love forever story all mixed up in to one feel good drama. I’m glad that there really wasn’t that strong of a villain in this drama. I like some evil, out to get you villains as much as the next person, but sometimes that can get old. Hye Jung and Mi Ho do their best, but I’ve seen much worse. If you are looking for a drama that will make you laugh and sigh comfortably, then this is the drama to watch.

I like Yoon Ah in this drama, but I will admit to not liking HaNa that much. She was cute in the beginning, but her attitude started to get on my nerves at times. Geun Seok can do no wrong in my eyes. I just adore him and I think he did a great job playing the young In Ha as well as Joon. The adult Yoon Hee/Lee Mi Sook and In Ha/Jeong Jin Yeong were AWESOME!!! I really think that the casting person did a great job at finding people that look similar enough to be the older versions of Yoon Hee and In Ha. The side stories were ok also, but they really don’t add to the story overall. There is some excellent eye candy in this drama though. ;-)

I LOVE THE MUSIC. I sing it in my head all the time.

I would probably rewatch this again when I want to watch something feel good. This is a great drama…You should watch it!!!

I love this drama, because the story, acting, music, and directing all come together to make what has now become my favorite KD ever. The story is really well written. There was never a point where I was bored or upset with the direction the story was going. The acting is awesome!!! I fell in love with Yang Kang Cheol/Jung Woo Sung in this KD. Jung Ji Na/Han Ji Min is a great actress and she is beautiful. Kim Bum of course is a hotie, but he can also act and does a great job in this KD. I cried, laughed, and yelled at my screen...all the great emotions that make a drama worth watching. The ending was AWESOME!!! I would rewatch thid KD in a heartbeat and I recomend that everyone watch it too.

This was a real let down to me. I thought the premise of the story was great, but the execution lacked…I don’t know…something. I was actually bored through most of this drama and would have quit watching it if it weren’t for Gong Yoo. I'm actually glad it is over.

It isn’t that Lee Min Jung can’t act; it is that she had to play one of the worst female leads that I have ever had the misfortune to watch. Da Ran is a pathetic character. I get that she would be confused in this situation and even cry and get upset at times, but it just went too far.
Gong Yoo played Yoon Jae/Gyung Joon to perfection. His character was written well and he played a child trapped in an adult body flawlessly. (I gave this a 10 in acting, because of him.)
BTW…if you are watching this to see Shin Won Ho, then don’t waste your time. He is barely in this drama.
I loved Beak Sung Hyun as Choong Sik. He was just adorable.
Suzy does a great job of playing obsessed Ma Ri although her character does go a little overboard at times.
The rest of the side stories and characters were lame.

The worst part of this drama is the ending. Not so much the way the story was written as the way it was directed. I felt like they should have shown the switch and Yoon Jae meeting Gyung Joon. They should have shown Gyung Joon with his parents. Then, since it was a “year later” they should have shown Gyung Joon as Won Ho with Da Ran. It was just boring!!!

Anyway, I won’t be watching it again. Unless you are a Gong Yoo fan, I don’t recommend that you watch it either.

This is the first Taiwanese movie that I have ever watched. I wish I could remember who on MDL recommended this movie, because I would think that person. If you happen to read this, then THANK YOU!!!

This movie is unique and surprisingly optimistic. The relationships are complex in a simple way. The movie really digs into the feelings of the hearing impaired when dealing with their loved ones. Chen Ivy as Yang Yang was really awesome. She is very expressive. There is a beautiful sisterly love. Although I figured it out before the end of the movie (as you probably will), there is a nice surprise ending. This movie is silent which to me is why it has such impact.

I recommend that everyone watch this movie.

This is not a remake of Full House and I am so glad!!! This drama is on the lighter side. It is an enjoyable romantic comedy.

The story is pretty typical. Love triangles, bromance, some misunderstandings, and an "evil" president cause troubles to all the main characters. The writer resolves most issues quickly and it comes to a nice end. The only complaint I have is that the main female lead and the main male lead do not spend enough time together.

No Min Woo/Tae Ik and Park Ki Woong/Kang Hwi play their characters very well. Of course, they are good looking. Kudos to the writer that added all the half naked scenes in the beginning of the drama!!! Regardless, they act their parts well. Ki Woong played a man going blind with conviction...most people aren't that good. Hwang Jung Eum also did a great job of playing Man Ok. She was girly and strong which is nice for a female lead.

I guess they read the reviews by the viewers on the fashion and hair styles of the actors, because somewhere in the middle Min Woo and Jung Eum get a makeover. LOL

The music is excellent.

I would probably rewatch this if I was looking for something light to watch.

I recommend that all romantic comedy lovers watch this drama. You won't regret it.

The thing that I love most about this drama is that the kissing scenes are awesome. They aren’t stiff and awkward. The feel of this drama is really good, because once the characters fall in love with each other, they don’t waiver. There are some problems, of course, but they are resolved quickly. It isn’t a new story by any means, but I think it is refreshing because the love is dependable.

Kang Ji Hwan plays the rich, arrogant, and absolutely sweet Ki Joon. I think he is an excellent actor. Side note…If you get the chance, then you should watch the Korean Movie Rough Cut. He is excellent in that and it shows just how versatile of an actor he is.
Yoon Eun Hye plays the quirky, adorable Ah Jung. There are times when I am disappointed in this character. It is because of the writing and has nothing to do with her acting ability. I have seen everything she has been in except The Vineyard Man. I think I will watch it next, because it has Oh Man Suk in it and I adore him too. Anyway, she is a great actress!!!
This also has Sung Joon in it from Shut Up: Flower Boy Band. Don’t watch this if you are expecting to see a lot of him, because his part isn’t prominent.
I loved Kwon Se In as Park Hoon, he is absolutely endearing. The other side characters are good too.

The music is ok, but nothing special.

I will probably watch this anytime I want to watch something light hearted and sweet. I even love the cheesy parts.

I recommend this drama based on the acting. Like I said the story isn’t in any way original, but it is still good.

This is a warning...episode 15 will emotionaly drain you!!! I had a huge love/hate relationship with this drama and that is why I gave it 10s across the board. I love the story and the conflict, but I hated that they kept calling this beautiful woman fat and old...but ALL the men except Henry wanted to be with her. It is a little flawed.

First the story...it is a well thought out concept. Breakups, first loves, and the story of loving yourself so that others will love you too is so well written and directed.

Acting/Cast...Sun Ah does an amazing job as Sam Soon. I totally love Sam Soon. She is an amazing strong character while maintaining her vulnerability. The reason I watched this drama was Hyun Bin. I think he did a great job playing Jin Hun. He was a complex boy that grew into a steady man. I loved when he poored out his heart to Sam Soon while laying his head on her tummy.

I think all the other actors did an amazing job and the side stories are well done. The relationship between Sam Soon and her sister, Yi Young deserves a mention because the characters are wonderful together. Then of course there is the other eye candy...Henney Daniel and Lee Kyu Han. They did a great job acting too.

The music was great...I loved them using Only Fools Rush In. It is perfect for this movie. "I can't help falling in love with you"

I will rewatch this drama when I decide to start rewatching my favorites.

I think you should all watch this at least once!!! Enjoy!!!
