I decided to watch this drama because the poster looks epic, a decision I didn't regret, because it turned out to be so meaningful, and my kind of drama. Countryside in Japan has always been dear to me, and this drama really shows how beautiful that part of this country is, it really captures the beauty of nature, and just that, this drama is worth watching.
The story is not new to me, there are movies/dramas that done this like going back to countryside, reviving small towns, stories like that. But that's not even the main theme, it's about decisions we make in life, dreams vs. responsibility, finding our own happiness etc. Having said that, a lot of people could relate specially if you feel you're on the stage where you are facing a decision that would greatly affect your life. I admit that they could present the story better, and there are some parts I felt not needed, but what I like is how they done scenes which were so uplifting and the music helps too. The cinematography is the best selling point here, it's not just beautiful but meaningful, that bicycle on rails is creative and whoever thought about that idea as a metaphor is freaking impressive.
Tanimura Mitsuki is the only known actress here, at least for me, and although their acting is not remarkable at least it's natural, all of them, and that is the only requirement for this kind of story. If I were to choose who's the most pitiful actress in Japan It would be Tanimura Mitsuki, not in real life though but because of the roles she plays. She has been playing roles that experienced terrible things and terrible might be an understatement, so it's nice to see her doing roles like this. To me she is one of the most underrated actresses in Japan that deserves more main roles in the future.
Thanks to the Subbers of this wonderful drama because I'll be honest here that when I saw this I thought that no one would sub this for the reason that most of the actors were unknown. These subbers were like heroes to me because I wouldn't have been able to watch this if wasn't them. Really appreciate the effort they put here and their taste for picking this.
