Sincerity is the only path to love
Yes the show brought us sincere love, the main couple’s romance was believable despite the age gap. Show was also without the usual C-drama drama, just pure fun and laughter.
Story line: The show had a simple office romance story line. Yet I never found it draggy, didn’t have to fast forward any episodes and before I knew it I was at the last episode, still yearning for more. It was the cast that made it so enjoyable to watch, including all the supporting cast.
Cast: The chemistry between the ML and FML was fantastic. I liked that the show made GJX childish at times, but yet manly and mature at other times. The romance was well paced and not rushed, it was believable for an 8-year age gap. I liked that the show made GJX more of the “female” in the r/s while ZJY was the more dominant “male” role in the r/s. Especially the proposal and the ending scene where ZJY was the rider and not the pillion rider. Yet no matter how much older ZJY was, she still had her young, girlish side which was what GJX loved, and Gina Jin made it so natural. GJX’s growth towards maturity in the show was natural and not forced, and nothing too egoistical or dramatised like some other young boy/older gal kind of shows. Most importantly, GJX was great eye candy, had a great bod and was a jack of all trades (pilot license and all) - super swoon worthy. Other couples in the show were also fun to watch and not boring at all.
C-drama without the drama: For once the drama did NOT have: 1) an annoying mother/ mother in law that opposes the r/s the whole drama; 2) rival FML/ML who were scheming and horrible, trying to ruin the main couple’s r/s in the worst possible way (although rival FML was annoying and super sticky but she was harmless). Rival ML was cool though. I liked that his age and maturity was reflected in the way he looks at r/s as well; and 3) annoying antagonists who sticks around for many episodes, and show can’t get rid of them fast enough. No wonder the show was so pleasant to watch!
Music: Omg the entire OST is stuck in my head now. The Wang Zi Yi and Gina Jin opening song is terribly catchy.
Totally enjoyable, fun and fantastic watch. I could rewatch this show again in a heartbeat.
