We saw each character’s strengths and weaknesses, their inner conflict, and the reality of what they have to go through in their daily lives. Sometimes they need to give bad news to the patient's family and how every bad news also breaks them inside, as they are a human first before they are a doctor. How they have to sacrifice their personal time for patients and how to make time for themselves.
This show does not have a major plot going on, a major villain, a major case to solve, a big secret buried and waiting to be revealed, nothing like that. This is just a story of a few doctors and how they cope with their daily life. Yet I did not find any dull moments for 12 episodes. Every case is interesting, every patient shows a piece of the reality people struggle with. I feel like I watched us on hospital playlist, I watched the stories about humans and I think that's what we need right now.
I am so happy we will get season 2. I will not wait for season 2 just to get the endgame of our beloved iksong couple (even I certainly hope they will end up together), but more than that, I will definitely wait for another patient’s story and the relationship they have with our doctors!
PS: this drama definitely has the best soundtrack ever (other than goblin)!

I recently just watched When Camellia Blooms and I am in love with Kang Ha-neul, so I was trying to find a movie with him in it. I must say that I do not see any Yong-sik or Ha-neul in this character. Kang Ha-neul totally transformed into someone else and it is brilliant. I am in love even more.
It is a very well done movie, definitely a must-see!

This drama is definitely refreshing. The character is not the usual damsel in distress female lead, handsome-but-cold CEO, and so on. The character is realistic and well-grounded, we can find a single mom who was struggling to make ends meet while the society criticized her, a country bumpkin police officer with childlike attitude, even a group of ahjummas who spend their time gossiping but yet caring and helpful anywhere. (Well, the joker storyline is not that realistic but it spices up the drama so why not). I laughed, I cried, being on fire, angry, hurt together with them. This is definitely climbing up to my most favorite drama list of the year!
Nonetheless, the one actor that impressed me the most is definitely kang ha-neul. I watched him on Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, but it was not that memorable to me, he was fine but that's just about all. But in WTCB, Yong Sik stole my heart to bits, the character is so well written (and so non-existent). He is not a perfect character, but how Yong Sik treats Dong Baek amazes me. He never bothered with the fact that Dong Baek was never married and has a child, but continually supports Dong Baek and boosts her confidence. Whenever Dong Baek pushes him away because of her own insecurities, he never backs down and always pushes her out of her insecurities and indecisiveness. However, when it is time for him to stop holding on to her for her sake, he is willing to do it without keeping his ego and desires. The relationship was very raw and honest. Yong sik is such a refreshing and well-written character and I can't imagine anyone else playing Yong sik but Ha-neul. He made the character his own.
There is no need to talk about how great Gong Hyo-jin is. She is definitely one of the best actresses in this era, she delivers any character given to her exceptionally.
I believe this drama is super well written, well-acted, very interesting, and does not have a dull moment. I love this drama so much, I will definitely go back and rewatch WTCB.

I know the acting is not good, I have seen a lot of korean drama and Cha Eun Woo is definitely not the best. The acting is stiff, the emotion is not being delivered well, every scene he gives the same face, even I had 0 intention to watch rookie historian goo-hae-ryung because of him. The FL is not that good either, maybe she is slightly better on delivering emotions, but the awkwardness between both of them is very cringy. The side character story also quite boring, especially Do Kyung Soek's sister, did not care about her at all.
But somehow the story always brings me back to watch this series all over again. I love the story so much and I can feel the main character's insecurities. The story brings out the reality in the current situation. How the beauty standard is playing a large part in one's life and how we need to accept ourselves without thinking about what people think, how society needs to shut up and stop giving anyone pressure about appearances.
Well I hope the portrayal of such a strong story had been given to stronger actors, but this series is all I get and I will keep getting back to it anyway.
