OLD Review after watching 5/10 eps

at first I gave this drama an 8.5 but then I sat down and really thought about it and realised that there is actually NOTHING I don’t like.

Side note: MYEONG Ja Eun is the most adorable pookie pie to ever pookie I just love her so much and the actress needs more roles!!

1. All the actresses are really good. This drama is the debut of Shin Seulki & Jang Daah and they are BOTH SO GOOD! Not to compare but if you look at the actress in the impossible heir, it’s her debut drama but she is terrible and everyone agrees. Seulki and Daah both show how it’s possible to act well in your debut drama.

2. The plot is really good.Definitely keeps you on your toes wondering what our female lead and the villain Jan Daah will do next.

3. Everything is just executed so well. The Ost fits the scenes, it’s very well written.

4. It’s very well paced and there is not a single boring part. I usually watch my dramas in 1.25x or 1.5x speed but not this one, I didn’t even use the 10x much.

Overall: there is a nothing to hate about the drama. It is very satisfying whenever our female lead has the upper hand and gets your heart pumping whenever she’s “losing”. It is worth your watch, no disappointment here!

It gets better and better each episode

Here are 3 reasons you are going to LOVE this drama.

1. The main character:
The main character Jin Isoo is a character you cannot help but LOVE. His character has many different aspects that are portrayed extremely well. He’s a cutie patootie, he’s quickly, funny, witty, sometimes emotional, extremely smart, and he loves to FLEX. Let me tell you Ahn Bo Hyun was the PERFECT actor to cask for this drama. He was able to potray all his emotions beautifully and the icing on the cake, HE IS SO HANDSOME. His gelled hair rhat is styled every episode is so hot too. This drama alone made me want to binge watch all of his other dramas.

2. The cases.
The cases in this drama are different every episode and they only get more complex/interesting to solve. You will never be bored. While Jin Isoo is solving the cases, we also learn about his personal life and his past and you find yourself feeling what he’s feeling. You’re sad when he’s sad but you also find yourself giggling whenever he solves a case. And one thing about him, he WILL solve the case. No matter how much opposition he gets from his teammates & the higherups.

3. The slow burn romance:
This is actually the best part of the show. Let me warn you, the female lead is a bit annoying in the first couple episodes & she almost makes you want to hate her but as you continue and she opens herself up to the main lead, you also open yourself up her. It’s kind of an enemy to lovers and also friends to lovers trope. You just feel so content with the way they pace their romance and you are so HAPPY when you get crumbs because their relationship is just so perfect every step of the way.

Overall: I honestly didn’t think I would watch this drama every single week and anticipate when the next episode would come out. I started this drama thinking I would drop it after a few episodes but it’s just that GOOD. It’s very entertaining and fun to watch and you should give it a chance cause you won’t be disappointed. Well done Ahn Bo Hyun, you stole our hearts??

we need more rom coms like this

Viewers comments
"this drama is the definition of cliches done right"
"contains the perfect balance of ROMANCE and COMEDY"
"The best romcom since business proposal"

——

This entails the story of a woman who doesn’t take NO for answer. She HATES wasting time and she’s going to find a way to get what she wants. She realises that in order for her to truly achieve her goals and ambitions, she has to be a married woman.

This drama depicts the world of corporate Korea as a place that only hands women benefits and opportunities if they are married to a man. It addresses the misogyny of the workplace while, of course, doing it in a comedic way.

The female lead grabs the first suitable man she can find, who turns out to be the cashier in a convenience store. But, is there more to him?

1. Plot/Storyline: 9/10
The story line had the potential to be an absolute disaster. I mean a fake marriage? This could have gone downhill really fast, especially because it’s a popular trope in the romance world. However, this is where the writers/producers vision really comes to light. They executed this perfectly. From the lines, to the sound effects, each scene was crafted to perfection.

2. Acting Performance: 9.5/10
I honestly thought that the pairing of this ml and fl may have been award. But they have insane chemistry. I think it’s safe to say the male lead was made for romcoms.
The side characters, such as the female leads younger sister also really know how to portray emotional depth. Key emotions such as "betrayal" and "sadness" were expressed almost to perfection.

3. Direction: 8.5/10
Although you can half expect what direction the story line will take most of the time, it depart bore you. It makes you wait in anticipation. And they have a way of throwing in unexpected scenes (eg: the end of episode 6). Like I said, cliches done right.

4. Cinematography/Visuals: 9/10
I love the brightness of this show. It definitely uplifts your mood and it’s a great way to unwind after a long day.

5. Script/Dialogue: 9.5/10
The script flows naturally. Even when they have to say “cringey” things, it doesn’t feel forced or awkward. It’s cute and makes you feel giddy.

6. Character Development: 8/10
The writers managed to show us the dynamic of these three women who are indeed "friends by chance, sisters by choice". They came to know eachother through a foster mom. But, they chose to work hard at loving each other.

7. Pacing: 10/10
Honestly love how straight to the point the storyline is. The confession was at a perfect time and there really is no beating around the bush. They cut the bullshit and didn’t give us unnecessary scenes.

8. Entertainment Value: 9/10
Description:** How entertaining or enjoyable was the overall experience? Did it meet your expectations?

Favourite moment:
The entirety of episode 6. This is the PEAK of romcom.

A good filler drama

To sum it all up: Started off so well then went downhill. It’s good as a filler drama in between the week but binging this would get tiring.

No other romantic relationships were actually explored other than the main leads?

Yu Ji-hyuks sister and the chef started developing their relationship on literally EPISODE 16???

As for Yang Joo-ran and the lawyer, we don’t ACTUALLY know how they know eachother and how deep their relationship really is. We saw ONE scene of them arguing in the past but it’s never really clear what they are. Past lovers? Just co-workers who disliked eachother? (for very silly reasons btw). And it’s not clear what they are to become in the future. Will they remain friends? Will they date? Its so silly how we know NOTHING.

They wasted so much time on silly things like Oh Yura when they could have focused on developing those relationships/characters.

As for Jiwon & Jihyuks “romance” I found myself skipping over all their kissing/intimate scenes. I just didn’t buy it and I’m sorry but the chemistry simply was not there. Not to speak for other people but I don’t think anyone really cared too much for their romance either.

Whenever this drama is talked about, it’s mostly about Sumin and how Jiwon claps back at her.
Fortunately for them, revenge is the main theme so that’s not a huge problem. I love romance dramas and I’m a sucker for business proposal type romance (not drama) but THIS was just not it.

I think the problem is Yu Ji hyuk though because I’ve always loved seeing Park Minyoung in romance dramas, this time though, just wasn’t feeling it.

don’t waste your time

this drama is ass. there is a reason why it only has 800 viewer ratings when it has been airing for WEEKS now lol.

Everyone tuned into it and gave it a chance but was very disappointed. most of the videoes you see on social media about this drama is people expressing their distaste. I haven’t heard anyone say anything positive about this drama.

This drama was made to test your patience and see how long you can withstand the leads making terrible decisions and many misunderstandings. If you manage to make it to the end of this drama, it’s either you have a lot of time on your hands, you have very low standards, or both.

Caution: VERY annoying female lead.

everything in this drama actually seems so promising EXCEPT the female lead. I have never been more aggravated by a character before. This drama would have been an 9 if not for her.

The whole time I just wanted her to LEAVE. I kept skipping every single scene she was in and I’ll tell you why.

1. She’s not attractive. She is just an average girl and there’s nothing wrong with that, BUT you expect me to believe that BOTH of them like her that much?

2. It makes NO sense that they are both chasing after her. Like I said before, she’s just average. she’s not funny, or entertaining. She’s just meh. So why would both these guys just randomly start liking her? The rich male lead literally saw her sitting on a lunch table and basically said “yup, I like her” but WHY? it’s not like she’s exceptionally stunning? She doesn’t have any special traits that make her interesting? All we know is that she’s poor? The only time she showed us some personality was when she laughed at the poor ml for hiding his boxers. And it was so corny because that’s not even funny? Like what are you laughing at.

3. There is absolutely ZERO chemistry between her and EITHER of the male leads. Like I’m sorry but I’m just not buying it. They didn’t show us a proper reason to why they both like her. Like I said before, I would get it if she was really pretty and a lot of guys just chase her, or if she had some quirky, funny, personality or just ANYTHING special, but she has none of those things.

4. The male leads will fight because of her later in the drama. You can 100% see were this is going and it’s just very stupid and unnecessary.

5. She adds NOTHING to the plot. in fact she actually ruins it. The bromance is actually enough and it’s entertaining all by itself. The female lead actually makes me want to NOT watch it anymore, rather than adding any spice.

6. The female lead is a bad actress. This doesn’t have to be a strong issue but just be aware she doesn’t know how to convey emotions using her face. This is basically her (?‍♀️) at all times. Her face is just expressionless and needless to say, I’m going to be cautious about her dramas in the future…
