May not be the best Japanese drama but is probably the most relatable one!
Life doesn't always go the way it is planned and there are going to be times when one is bound to fail. That time one may feel dejected and may also feel that they might have wasted their time, but as time passes they might move on. One might fail, but the experiences that they had garnered and the relations that they had build up throughout that time still stay, and these memories that they had made will be cherished by them throughout their lifetime. This is konto ga hajimaru's main theme. The drama has a simple but a relatable story and is carried by a stellar cast. All the 5 main characters Suda, Taiga, Kamiki, Kasumi and Kotone along with a strong supporting cast were wonderful. The acting felt so natural that there were times I forgot that they were acting.
This might not be the best Japanese drama out there but does have an ability to be cult classic. It is that drama that may want the viewers to come back and rewatch or recommend the drama to a person going through a hard time. This drama is just that awesome!
Watch it if you are a fan of slice of life dramas or you are a fan of the actors!

Certainly this drama has become quite dear to me!
Saiai is the first drama I have seen this year. It was an amazing series. Very entertaining and emotional. The drama revolves around many themes. The English title of the drama is 'dearest', one of the main themes of the drama is how much a person can sacrifice something for a person who is very dear to them. The story is well written, though it had a few inconsistencies, it still managed to keep me at the edge of my seat till the last moment. Every episode is narrated by different characters in the show. The three main characters were very intriguing. Yuriko, Kouhei and Iura-san have given a very good and promising performance. Special mention to Takahashi Fumiya as Yuu and Tanaka Minami as Tachibana Shiori. I loved them here.
The music is wonderful as well, the ending theme gives me chills at the end of every episode.
Its not surprising that saiai was produced by the same director behind jdramas like MIU404 and Unnatural. All of them were interesting, emotional and amazing character driven dramas. Definitely a must watch for all jdrama fans!

Must watch for all Kamiki Ryunosuke's fans!
Like all other satsukyu series this series followed a episodes of kamiki's fictional holidays. The series is episodic, none of the stories in the series are connected to each other and every episode has a different theme and subject. There is not a single episode I might have disliked. As compared to other satsukyu series kamiki's satsukyu was a bit different. In previous series where the episode looked like how an actor might spend his time over a shooting break, some of the episodes of kamiki's satsukyu focused upon a variety of different settings. This made the series stand out from its predecessors as it had something for every body.Speaking of some of the best episodes in the series episode 3, 6, 7 and 8 were my favorite. Out of these four episodes, ep. 8 had the ability to be a stand alone 2 hr movie. The plot, cinematography, direction, music and the acting was amazing. It was truly an amazing finale to the series.
Speaking of the cast, kamiki was as usual amazing, as a fan it was a pleasure to see him in a role like this. Among the guest roles Adachi Yumi who was amazing, I'm surprised that it was her first time co-starring with Kamiki, it was fun seeing Narumi Riko and Kamiki reunite after years, they still have that amazing chemistry, it was funny to see Matsushige Yutaka to play a role of a crazy Kamiki fan right after iribito and last but not the least Nakano Taiga who was amazing as usual, the fact that this series was shot right after conpaji makes the episode even more special as kamiki and his chemistry was that strong.
I would like to recommend this to all Kamiki Ryunosuke fans! It was a pleasure to see him in a role like this.

Poor execution of a story, saved by performances of the main leads
Story- Just by reading the synopsis of the story one can guess that story highlights the ethics in the medicine field. While I do agree with with whatever the drama is trying to explain to the viewers and how much ethics is important in Science, the execution was a little poor. It is very intriguing for the first two episodes but becomes a little bit boring in the between only to be saved by a very good finale.Acting- Kamiki Ryunosuke gave a performance of a lifetime. If Suda Masaki gave a performance of his lifetime in 3 nen A gumi, Kamiki gave that Henshin. Henshin is I guess one of the very few dramas that make good use of his acting ability. I liked Nikaido Fumi a lot here too.
Music- I really liked the theme song oyasumi by Yu Takahashi, it has pretty good lyrics. Not a huge fan of the background score though.
Overall- This series had the ability to be a masterpiece but because of the inconsistent execution of the story it kinda failed to become one. Watch it if you are a fan or interested in the performances of Kamiki Ryunosuke or Nikaido Fumi, they both were awesome!
