Not that bad...
The reason I started watching this show was because the plot intrigued me. Despite negative reviews and a low overall rating on MDL (7.5), I'm glad I took a chance on it.While the series is certainly not without flaws and can be confusing at times (especially in the beginning), I appreciate the well-developed story and multi-layered, mature characters.
If you enjoy mature dramas with complex characters, I recommend giving it a try.
My main criticisms would be the weak character development of Jang Gyo Jin throughout the series, and the need for a more impactful ending for Min Yeong Hwee, who was a standout character throughout the story.
The majority of the cast delivered high-quality performances, though Hong Woo Jin fell short in comparison.

Mature, Emotional and controverse
Please, just do not give up on the first two episodes. The drama has a slow set up in the first two episodes but after that picks up to be one of the best dramas I've ever seen.If you like more mature dramas with complex emotions and feelings, this one will not let you down. The acting is also superb. Definitely for the fans of "Misty", "The world of the married", "The good wife" and "Mask". There are no pure villains or heroes here. Everybody is human with their qualities but also their imperfections and sins.

Non-conventional drama
For the ones that look for something refreshing out of the usual rom-com or betrayal/revenge loops, you will probably want to give this drama an opportunity. The acting is credible and not exaggerated, the story unfolds at a good pace during its 7 episodes and there are several plot twists along the way. The production quality gets very close of the Korean Dramas are definitely enjoyable.
The plot revolves around the abusive relationship between the Masters of the House and the Servants at the same time that there are fights for Succession.
