an older women younger man drama with much more depth

i just finished binging this series and if you are into older woman younger man dramas that is both bittersweet and realistic, then this is the drama for you. although it has areas that can be improved, overall it was a great watch. here's my breakdown of the pros and cons..
pros:
- even though the lead actors have a 19 age difference, i thought they pulled off their characters very well and their interactions didn't seem awkward at all
- the script was actually written quite well, this was a older women younger men drama done WELL
- the story in general is entertaining it's quite hard to write a love story with 12 year age gap that allows the audience to actually understand why two people are together and get along
- the outfits and just general styling of the characters were very well done
- i absolutely adorable the shen ruoxin, i think she's someone that girls can look up to, very independent women with her own views and she's just such a badass while keeping her gentle personality
- qi xiao is honestly such a cute bean, to be honest dylan wang didn't leave the best impression for me especially after meteor garden i rlly didn't like his character, but here wow he's proved that he's worth the hype, presenting his character as a very cheerful but mature man
- some other side characters i really liked were qi xiao's mom she's such a chill, caring mom, as well as you sijia very cute and supportive character, i also want to add that xu mingjie although i did't like him in the beginning, he's a great ceo and mentor for shen ruoxin
- i personally really like office business centered dramas so this was a great watch in general

cons:
- shen ruoxin's mom holy that woman needs to go for real, she gets on my nerves so much, i tried so hard to understand her very traditional perspectives but she needs to understand her daughter can make her own decisions in life, good thing she learned from that tho, in the end accepting the mains relationship
- i skipped a good amount of parts especially near the middle of the drama it just get's kinda draggy but does pick up near the end
- the side character stories were honestly kinda boring in my opinion like i really didn't care for them
- some of the characters like shen ruoxin's pursuers men were just so annoying at times but i think that's just part of the plot build up

overall a great watch if you are looking for a medium lengthen drama to binge with a great cast and entertaining story and set up

basic ceo secretary romanced based drama

i honestly dont know how i managed to watch this drama. i skipped a lot of scenes cause they were just that boring. the story itself is common and i'm guessing many people have watched these types of dramas before. it's about the most cliche drama plot ever, ceo secretary romance in the office along with amnesia where the ML loses his memory. the drama started off fairly nice, i had high hopes for FL since she was in the untamed. but about midway through, the story just got so confusing and unwatchable especially when the ML lost his memory over and over again. i can say that there are numerous intimate scenes too but which were executed awkwardly ngl. i only fully watched the last 5 ep cause i wanted to see how it ended and it was happy ending so thats good at least. the cast is pretty solid, i found the second lead couple chemistry and bickering more interesting and wanted more scenes with them. also the third lead couple was so so boring and it felt their relationship was forced. music wise, i saw a lot of people complaining about the background music but i personally didn't have this issue maybe its cause i didn't watch the ep on youtube cause ik youtube sometimes has copyright. overall, if you are wanting to watch no brainer kinda drama with cute funny scenes, give this a try.

overall a good crime/ mystery watch

this drama was surprisingly very well put together. i'm a sucker for crime solving police dramas, but usually the chinese ones i watch r a hit or miss. starting with the story, it's a well thought out storyline and the cases are solved quickly so u won't have to do much skipping. some of them r chilling tho. although there are some noticeable plot holes here and there, i found it pretty engaging. i rlly hated how they incorporated romance in the drama, especially at the end, i felt that they just used romance to tie the story together when all i wanted was their police squad to have a happy ending together. moving on to acting, the actors play their roles quite well and i rlly liked the cast !! i rlly ship the two hackers/ IP specialists they r so funny. music was very good too it fit the drama so well, erie but very beautiful. anyways it's a good watch for any crime solving drama lovers !!

came for the main leads, stayed for the second leads

i just wanna start this off by saying personally ever since the second leads appeared on screen, they singlehandedly carried the drama till the very last ep for me. i was actually quite pumped for the release of miss the dragon cause i really enjoyed dylan's acting in his previous work the rational life, he did great there. just when i was starting to get into him, this drama dropped and literally ruined his whole reputation for me. i feel like his acting has two sides, an ai robot side and the quirkier side, no in-between, i never really understood what his real personality was. in my opinon anyone from the whole cast acted their role better than dylan the main lead like . . . apart from this, i was looking forward to bambi as well, her acting was just okay, though i never bought her character.

the storyline was just too rushed, they really expect to shove four lifespans into 36 ep and actually create a powerful story. like no. there was almost no chemistry i could feel from the main leads, no build up. also even though the plot is extremely romance and character focused, i never really understood some sub-plots like the one in the third life, the one about the female leads long lost old friend and that creepy weird enemy dude. what did that have anything to do with the story. but maybe it's cause i skipped it cause i didn't care. music was alright, i enjoyed the frequent sound effects and the opening and ending song is beautiful. cgi is also decent, although why did i feel like the editing team made the dragon look so feminine and not "dragon-like" idk just a personal opinion.

okay now onto the second couple, i could honestly go on and on about their set up and development. i think it's also when compared to the main couple, they are superior in my opinion. their storyline actually makes sense and has a lot of depth especially cause of their love story in the past, forgetting it, then meeting once again. also i can't believe this is deng wei's first role, he really be doing the most. like even though both the male lead and second male have similar personality, he still manages to use these micro expressions to add layers to his character unlike dylan the robot.. i think that deng wei just has a more persuadable cold aura as well. so whenever he does smile (like five times through the show), it just creates more contrast. also i found second female to be quite cute as well, specifically in her scenes with the second male. deng wei has definitely made it as my favorite actor along with second leads being my favorite couple of the month. very much excited for their future projects respectively.

all in all this is just a seemingly high production, but in reality, low production drama (plastic looking sets) if you watch, you just gotta pretend the second leads are the main leads and vise versa. turn off your brain and just enjoy your time at this laughable and almost unreasonable story.

hands down the best modern romance cdrama this year !!

i honestly don't even know where to start with this review. this drama hit all the right feels and emotions. i actually didn't have too high of expectations for this drama cause i saw all the cliches and we've had enough office romances this year. but the plot, actors, directing definitely proved me wrong. here's a breakdown of stuff i liked and didn't like:
- i really loved the plot development and although the mains had the childhood friend troop, it was really effective and served as a big part of them re-developing their relationship
- the cast is something i will never stop talking about, they for real carried the whole show and made me want to watch more
- everyone acted their roles so well, props to the casting people for casting this amazing cast
- there are so many couples/ pairings omg i think like 6, there will defiantly be a couple you'll like
- the mains chemistry is something i can not explain, it's just so gooood from their bickering to their cuteness, ahh i can't ever get over
- the setting and cinematography is woww rlly raised the level of cdrama production for me
- so many funny moments, i would like to thank the screenwriters cause i literally fell on my floor in one of the scenes
- wang cai is the cutest
here's some things i think could be improved on:
- i rlly wanted to jiang jun to maybe do something that proved her love for yuan shuai since i though it was always him covering and taking care of her
- du lei i just don't understand sometimes, but gao hanyu portrayed him v well
- the ending ughh i felt like it was a bit rushed, i wanted to see more of each character but ig we'll just have to hope for a season 2 !!
overall an amazing watch w outstanding production, directing, acting. 10/10 recommend for everyone and anyone.

a good watch with a breath of fresh air !!

i was just waiting for a this is it drama this summer and i think i found it. although this has so many tropes (like cross- dressing and meeting as children) it manages to deliver it less cliche and cringe.
things i liked:
- the story was alright, i really like detective/ mystery and the plot was very fast paced and easy to understand
- both the main and second couple have amazing chemistry (especially main hehe)
- the whole cast is practically new/ young actors but they did better than i expected
- thank goodness there wasn't a love triangle, i'm so tired of that trope
- the misunderstandings between ML and FL were solved fairly quick which was also effective in allowing the leads to grow together and earn each others trust
- really appreciated that the ML was not the typical overbearing, physically pinning girl to the wall type of person if you know what i mean, he genuinely cared about FL which we can tell from the way he always sticks with her and supports her
- i loved the bond between the 5 main characters, everyone had such distinct personality which made the story a lot more enjoyable
- the ML's visual, that's all i got to say, i found him meh in the beginning but over time in the drama, he definitely proved me wrong with his charisma

aspects i thought could have been improved on:
- i felt like during the first 6 ep, the romance development between main leads was too rushed like everything happened too fast
- the part where FL thought that ML killed her parents, there should have been more evidence or reasons for the FL to think that since i she just believed it was ML from just a voice like . . . people's voices change over time right

overall i think this is a great watch for someone who has time on their hands as the whole thing is fairly long with 32 ep. if you are also looking for a not so cringe but light drama, i highly recommend.

overall i feel like this drama was a pretty okay watch. at the beginning it pulls u in but the ending was honestly kinda rushed. acting by the actors rlly surprised me as they actually did very well, ceaser wu's acting was a bit stiff tho. although i first thought this drama was gonna be romance based as there r basically 3 couples, i didn't feel like it was focused on that but instead friendship between the 5 characters which i rlly enjoyed. music was alright but didn't rlly shock me or anything. anyways it's a p good watch if u want sth lightweight + a good laugh.

overall a cute fluffy romance centered drama

i'm actually surprised i finished the series while it was being aired, i thought so many times i was gonna drop it cause of all the bad reviews it got. anyways, the story itself is quite refreshing and unique from normal historical dramas, instead of the FL being the one getting into the forced marriage, it's the sister who gets into it and FL spends most of the story trying to help her get out. what i really didn't like about the drama was that the leads were basically hiding their identities the whole time and the truth never got out until the last eps. it's like they had even more secrets on top of the original ones. honestly the drama could have been 24 ep, it rlly didn't need that many ep to complete the story. actors wise, i actually really like the ML's acting and visual though it is his first piece of work. although the FL could work on her presentation, we need to keep in mind that she's only about 15 years of age. also the actor that played zhong li completely stole the show for me. his acting is quite good and he's rlly good looking haha. i would also wanted to have known about zhong li's background a bit more like maybe explanations to why he's cold and emotionless ? he's such an interesting character. i just wished the director put more scenes of him with rong jing especially at the end cause she only appeared in the last few ep :( i found their chemistry and convos more interesting than the main leads ngl. music wise the ost was pretty fitting for the scenes. so if you guys are wanting to find a lighthearted watch then this is for you.

a heartwarming bittersweet youth growing up story

i just finished watching this amazing drama, i have so many emotions going through me rn. this drama literally hit all the right points in a youth drama, it made me laugh and cry in the best way possible. here's a breakdown of the pros and cons:
pros:
- the romance is so so cute, there's mainly 3 couples and their interactions r the funniest
- personally i loved li qingtong and wu zhixun's romance the best, i felt like they had more dynamic compared to li jingbu and duan xiaos maybe it's cause i knew li jingbu wasn't there to stay
- if you love youth school dramas following a group of friends then this is your drama
- the acting was perfect, i felt as if i was in their little friend group
- i appreciated just the idea of li jingbu going back to realize how her mom grew up and her hardships
- loved how the girls were strong and stood up for themselves and each other
- focus on li qingtong's family was the best, i loved their interactions with each other
- cinematography was outstanding, the northwest region in china they filmed at was so beautiful but looked so cold

cons:
- the ending, how could they . . . im so dissapointed
- i know cdramas are known for their open endings but i really hoped we could have gotten some more conclusion from the couples
- when i rooted for 3 couples and none of them ended together
- i know a lot of people liked chen junhe but i honestly found him kinda annoying until just the last 2 ep
- i needed more wu zhixun in general, idek if he is a ML cause he's li qingtongs love interest but he never really got much screentime
- i liked their high school scenes a lot better than the college story but ig that's the only way we got up to li jingbu being born
overall a highly recommended watch !!

cute fluffy coming of age youth drama

this is overall such a nice watch. no skips at all. i'm usually not too into slice of life dramas but this one caught my eyes since it was also youth and romance centered. there's so many cute moments and the plot doesn't drag at all. i was first kinda hesitant to pick this one up cause the genre is so overused but i was so wrong. the story itself reminds me of kdrama reply 2007. centered around 5 high schoolers friendship as they go thru their last school years. the leads acting is so good like wow i couldn't even guess they were newer people. FL and ML cracked me up so much. i think a large part of this drama is it's relatability since both leads r not the best in school. the drama also talks about the importance of family and just life lessons. i rlly liked the little dialogue parts the FL had too, it allowed for more connection w the audience. music was alright it was suiting for the moments. fyi this drama is doing pretty well in china so i'm hoping these actors get more castings in the future. i would totally rewatch this drama and hoping for a season 2 w same cast !!
