Beautiful. That's the first word in my mind after watching this movie.

After reading the reviews and summary, I was like, yeah. Maybe it'll be nice to try it myself. I never regretted my choice. This movie, totally exceeded my expectations. With its genre of fantasy and romance, everything fits into place so perfectly. A simple, yet a story with impact. I was so inspired.

Story-wise, the plot is very understandable. If you're expecting action you'll be throughly disappointed. However, if you'll need something calming after a tired day, this was the movie for you. It was straightforward, but believe me, you'd be glued to every scene. The scenery is disbelievingly breathtaking and calming.

The cast did a good job. At first I wasn't quite taken by Hana's (Han Hyo Joo) cheerfulness, but after a while, I found that her personality totally lit up the bright side of the story. Paired with JaeJong's (Kim Jae Joong) silent yet expressive character ...

The music. This is the best part of the movie. One of the best, most mind-inspiring soundtracks. Every chord stuck deep into my soul. You can totally relate back to the scenes in the movie when you listened to it. Each pieces was so soothing, they made the movie timeless.

Overall, I'm satisfied with it. There was something comforting within the movie, and a strong message for all of us. Totally recommended.

Searching for random movies for the weekend, I found this, and realized that I had once watched it before on a flight years back. Since I had just finished Gegege no Kitaro (the first movie), on I go on another movie marathon!

Well, for starters, I'm a HUGE, HUGE fan of those yokai/fantasy stories, so I had a vague idea on the concept of this series before I watched it. Along my journey in search for a satisfactory movie, I'd seen few of the best, but some the worst, of the genre.

Story-wise, Gegege no Kitaro:The Millennium Curse has an interesting plot line. There's no outrageous twists or gut-wretch-ish suspense that makes you choke on your drink, but with elements of the supernatural as the main focus, the story went along the flow quite well. It exploits the theme of co-existance between humans and yokai, to trust and believe in each other as the strength to defeat evil (nothing out of the blue, but no complaints).

As for the acting and cast, I'll say the actors and actresses did a really good job. They really did make the colorful non-human characters believable, real, besides being entertaining to watch. Eiji Wentz truly make Kitaro look good! And since it's a fantasy, expect some flashy costumes and heavy makeup!

For the music, it serves the scenes adequately. But it's not the kind of music I will specifically download and listen to.

Overall, this movie's not as engaging as those amazing ones, but it's still pleasant to watch if you have nothing to do and wanted something not-so-dramatic with a big teaspoon of fantasy thrown in. It could have been better, if the CG effects were improved. :)

Ok, after watching this movie, one thing was sure. This is NOT a tragic, tear-jerking romance story involving love triangles and heartbreaks. And that, is good enough for me.

For starters, the story was nothing special - the typical rich boy, poor gal kind of modern-day fairy tale that might never happen in real life, although the sweet moments were there. No intense plot twist.(I'll say that some scenes aren't exactly pleasant to the eyes ... *mutters* but you'll survive).

The cast, music, they're average. Nothing spectacular to squeal about. I just hoped that the chemistry between the main leads is better. I mean, I don't see much sparks throughout the movie, and their relationship escalated quite fast for me to grasp. Still, in dramaland, everything is possible! Right?

For the record, it's nice to see that the male lead did care for her in the end.

Overall, if you want to pass your time idly, watch this. Nothing too emotional, and yet entertaining to watch. However, if you're looking for something touching and serious, there're better movies out there. =)

P.S. I'm not completely satisfied about the last scene though. It's not exactly necessary ...
