STORY
is it the most original story known to mankind? no. does it contain a few cliche plot devices? yes. is the story still brilliant and interesting? most definitely. i think the most charming part about the entire story is how personal and relatable it is. we might not all have been part of the entertainment industry or inches away from debuting but we've all faced struggles, setbacks and betrayal so monumental that we wanted nothing more but to escape this life. the fl faces embarrassment, disappointment and struggles and reacts sometimes like all of us and other times that way we wish we could. the love story between the main couple feels organic which is such a rarity. it feels natural and just right. i love the conflicts between them and the fights because they make actual sense but also help to develop the characters. i love the friendship between the characters and that it isn't just an afterthought but feels like an important piece of the puzzle. i cried and i laughed, sometimes it hit a little too close to home but that's the beauty of this drama.
ACTING/CAST
standing ovation for the main couple. this drama made me fall head over heels for eleanor lee. her acting is phenomenal and it makes me angry how underrated she is. as an actress, i hope to see her in all kinds of dramas and thank her for giving life to this role and making me fall in love with the character and relate to it. everyone else was amazing as well, no one dragged the cast down. in the scenes with multiple of them, they all played off each other. and the main couple's chemistry is one for the books. honestly sometimes felt like i was intruding on a real couple and not watching a drama.
MUSIC
apart from the outro, there was no memorable song in the drama. i don't think that's necessary a bad thing because while it didn't leave a lasting impression it also didn't distract me or ruin the drama or certain scenes for me. it all felt appropriate and fitting just nothing mind blowing or special hence the 7 as a rating.
REWATCH VALUE
the only reason i didn't give this gem of a drama a 10 is because i think some of the scenes are skippable during a rewatch. only a few but still, i have to be fair and honest. i'd only give it a 10 if i wouldn't skip a single second of the drama even during a rewatch.
OVERALL
a masterpiece that deserves much more love and appreciation.
