Not cringey or cliche

What I love about this show is the fact that the female lead is a very composed woman and despite having a crush on the male lead for many years, she is not the typical silly and dependent girl that we often see in a drama who goes after a man in a cringe or foolish way.
Instead, she is rather honest and says what’s on her mind when she has conversations with the male lead. She has her own valued opinions and backbone which is what I admired about her.

I know many dramas where the male leads finds the female lead annoying but this is a whole different case. The ML(Hu Yi Tian) has huge respect and interest towards FML as both of them are in the liberal arts field.

Going back to the female lead, despite having a calm appearance, she sometimes showcased her anxiousness as she pounders and struggles on her love towards the ML.

In conclusion, the characters are not annoying and this is definitely a step away from the usual cliche modern live dramas that we watch.
It is a mature and lighthearted drama as it really highlights the reality of university love.

Hidden hidden gem

I have watched many historical dramas before but this hits off completely different. There were so little viewers to the point that my expectations of the show were low, but I decided to give it a try since I love the main characters.

Let me start off with the characters,
PERFECT. The female lead’s new life has been entangled with 3 men who have different personalities yet all 3 of them are so likeable and charming (which is so rare considering how every drama have at least 1 annoying male side lead ). Infact, I wouldn’t mind if any 3 of them got her in the end, male lead or not. One of the man’s sister is a brad who tries to take constant revenge on the female lead (we all know we need someone like her to make the female lead seem superior). And the best part of it all is unlike the usual over dramatic phrase “I will not fall down now, I will rise”, the female lead acts extremely composure and elegant. She’s smart, emotional at THE RIGHT TIME, kind, and never makes use of any of the 3 man.

Story wised, every episode have something going on, I haven’t been bored even a minute. My favorite part is that the drama does not dwell too much on the female lead’s past (who she was before her current life), it took less than half a episode if I recall right.

Totally recommend this drama, it’s extreme underrated!

Lovely lovely endearing drama

When I first saw the headlines that Bailu and Allen Ren are the main actors for this drama, I was expecting the drama to follow the typical enemies to lovers theme. This is because in every single past drama that Bailu acted in, she always portrays a charismatic, confident girl. But here, her role is soft, ladylike, extremely courteous and polite. It’s a completely new look for Bailu fans!
The love between the two leads are extremely adorable (powerful respectable general + kinds introverted lady), and their chemistry reflects how experienced and mature both actors are at acting :)
This drama will worth your time!

Firstly, the directors of this drama filmed the blooms at ruyi pavilion and legend of yunxi and so, I am more than grateful for them to cast jujingyi as the female lead for the third time!

Honestly, I did not expect her and Joseph to look good together but their chemistry really click well in the show, the scenes were sweet, loving and not overly dramatic.

Unlike the usual frail-female lead-gets-save-by-hero-story, the female lead in this drama is street smart and courageous. She does not whimp or whine despite being spoiled by her grandmother. She’s independent and lovable - the female character we are all looking for.

The male lead on the other hand is just like her, he will stand up for her when she’s bullied and do all he can to save her dignity.

Story: Their hugs, kisses, the scenes were not cringey, the love too was developed really quickly, they got married within the first 10 episodes which is really nice to see. This leads on to my second point, the story is NOT DRAGGY. Characters sticks to their roles, it is obvious whose the bad and good characters.

Definitely recommend it, a huge breath away from the others draggy, overbearing historical dramas

Not gonna overate or underate

If you like “put your head on my shoulder”, you should like this too.
The typically cute-height-difference is evident here and the storyline do have some unexpected turning points, it started to make me intrigued in around episode 5 so do not give up so quickly then :))!

Thought the story is a little plain and basic, but the relationship develops quickly and it is not draggy. The characters are likable and suit their role very well.
The so called “evil” actor portrayed his annoying , angst role very well and both the female and male lead have good chemistry.
In a nut shell, I’ll give it a solid 8 (for now), because it is a cute light hearted drama with not so much excitement but no sign of boredom either!

I believe many of you are wondering why this show did not hit your expectations or infact scored lower than a 9/10. That is because ya’ll are comparing it to the Korean drama “descendants of the sun”. I have to admit, the korean ver is instead more vibrant and straight to the point but the Chinese ver portrays the drama in a completely different spotlight.

First off, a lot of dramas tend to filter the scenes using a bubbly shade tone but there is almost no film filter used in this drama, thus the scenes seem more realistic and relatable.
Both the actors showcases their youthful love and it is just so LOVELY to see how the male lead has a “cold on the outside, warm on the inside” personality. He once saved her from a hostile attack yet he hide his identity from her when they met again.
I just absolutely love how he treated her so coldly during training but actually secretly looks out for her. Only 10 episodes in and I’m still hook onto the show :33. I advice everyone to ignore the fact that this drama is a remake of “descendants of the sun” and view it as a completely new drama acted out by two very experienced and loving actors.
**For those who wants to know the differences between “descendants of the sun(korean)” and “you are my hero(Chinese)”, continue reading my comment.

Differences:
Korean— guy has more of a puppy personality, chases after girl evidently and makes his feelings clear to her. Good at flirting.
First time the couple met was coincidentally at a hospital and it’s love at first sight!
Chinese - guy has more of a cat personality, treats the girl harshly during training and is cold on the outside but actually like the girl and often secretly help her behind her back.
First time the couple met was during a hostile attack where the male lead saved the female lead!
- Chinese ver is more light hearted

Made me cry

I did not hold any high expectations towards this show before entering the cinema as I expect it to be like every other rescue shows. But this show hits differently. The main character looks charismatic and fit but in-fact he is very vulnerable. The rescue parts of the show were very exciting and i literally held my breath the entire time, crossing my fingers that the missions will be successful.
And boy, this show is not cliche at all. I balled out my eyes when a certain someone died in the show (I wasn't expecting him too).
The CGI may not seem that real at first but as it goes on, it really surprises me how much effort the design and production crew put in, making the whole movie look so realistic.
One cool bit is that when filming took place, actual fire and minor explosions were used.

This movie is definitely recommended!!!!

A pleasant one

Cast: Having seen Qiao Xin acted in many modern dramas, her historical role in the Autumn Ballad did come off as fresh to me and needless to say - she nailed the role, managing to portray the witty and bold female lead. Jeremy on the other hand is also an experienced actor whom is extremely charismatic in this drama. Both actors have good chemistry thus making the show enjoyable. The second female lead (aka qiu min) is starting to get on my nerve. She has this gentle personality yet ruins all her sisters plans simply because of jealousy. Yet I can’t bring myself to hate her Bc she is infact kind hearted - and that’s the annoying bit.

Story: The story isn’t that entertaining but it certainly isn’t a boring one. There are numerous different cases and the right pace of the story manage to keep me hook. For those who fear watching crime shows yet still enjoys how they unfold the truth, I highly recommend watching this show as parts of the story involves the main leads trying to find culprits etc, meanwhile there is also NO gruesome imageries involve.

Lovely lovely relationship

If you are reading this review, expecting the drama to follow the typical “annoying siblings to lovers” plot, you are so wrong.
The male lead is a smart caring older brother that will protect his younger sister (female lead) without her. The portrayal of his character is almost perfect - mature, composed, smart.
The most touching part is the flaw of this character, he lost a leg when he was younger! There were touching scenes where he detested himself for his lost leg and how he cannot protect his younger sister. He acted it out so well (afterall we all know that Linghe is an outstanding actor).
The touching scenes makes the warm hearted male lead to seem extremely vulnerable when he tries to protect the one he love and it just makes me break down with tears.

Moving on to the female lead, her actual age is only 16!! She portrayed her role just as fine as the Ml did. It’s often too adorable to see how the tiny small her tries to stand up for her older brother, thinking she can outraged the bullies. Though she is naive and innocent, she is extremely protective of her older brother and is mature enough to cheer him up when his down.
The interaction between both of them is not like any other drama and the love and care they show for one another will definitely warm up your heart.

Do not skip this drama because of the fact that the ratings are not that high, if you’re in for some touching high school drama, you’re on the right page :)!!

Fascinating

Almost miss out on this high production drama! This show truly makes me admire soldiers/workers in the national diving unit. It is so fascinating to watch all 9 episodes - lots of small plot twists and even the CGI is really good (which is so rare. Most importantly, the actors are pretty good at acting, even the supporting roles.
The drama does not show much violence or blood and is not considered "scary". Rather, they covered and explained the cases extremely clearly.
Came for the actors, left with lots of knowledge.

Must watch. Period

I know many have wrote a review but I am still gonna go ahead and write one because I really encourage everyone to watch this drama.
This drama focuses alot on lies and how it can impact a person's life.
The male lead is charismatic and good looking, yet inside his extremely vulnerable and it makes the readers wanna baby him so much. The casts look so good together and though it is a light hearted drama, the chemistry and love between the leads made my heart fluttered so much.
The villain in this drama is annoying in a good way and it is just so satisfying to see how others stood up against her in the show.

This sounds weird but this show made me reflect and pounder whether white lies really helps someone.

Would you rather say a white lie so that everyone can be happy, knowing that the consequences is unbearable once the truth is told??

Makes me smile!

Story: Loving it so much, though one may say that the storyline is unrealistic, I rather say it’s interesting. The male lead who is a general have a secret identity of being a masked fighter. On the other hand, the female whom he married to is a street performer who accidentally got married into the general’s household and thus have to hide her identify and act like she’s the actual princess. Funniest thing is she hates the general but love the masked fighter since she was young. Little did she know that they are the same person!!
It’s the kind of drama that goes “couple who finds each other annoying and often brickle falls in love”
Cast: I know Huang Jun Jie role is pretty similar to his previous drama (Dr. Cutie). In both drama, he is a general and even have the exact same hairstyle and aura. BUT STILL, this drama is looking better than I thought it’ll be.

Disclaimer: these are just my own opinions, feel free to think otherwise :)!!
Hope y’all enjoy this drama as I did!

Slightly draggy but decent

Pros:
1. The story not only focuses on the main characters but it also gave a chance for the second leads to shine.
Personally I find the love between the second leads way cuter than the mains (The roles of the second leads are naive and they act as really cute 17 year olds + the characters are NOT annoying which is rare).

2. The male lead is quite cunning (in a good way) and does a lot of unexpected things in the show. Thus as a viewer, it is interesting to see how the story unfolds and how he tricks his enemies using his brain.

3. Though the male lead is clever and crafty, the female lead is not the basic weak girl that we see in other dramas. She is exceptionally good at martial arts and has her own backbone to voice out her opinions.

Cons:
1. The female lead often misunderstands the male lead and it’s kinda annoying how the ML often plans a trap out but DOESN’T inform the FL, leading to EVEN MORE misunderstandings.

2. The music isn’t that catchy (it’s been 25 episodes and I still can’t remember how the melody goes)

3. It’s a little draggy (I thought the story was gonna end but something else pops up and it felt as if the story starts all over again from episode 1).

4. As a viewer, it is unclear when the ML actually falls in love with the FL as at the start he kept her by his side to prevent her from killing ***** but he also said he liked her from first sight??

I waited 2 years for this

For all of you who are reading my review, please note that you NEED to watch season 1 & 2 to watch this season, otherwise you won’t understand what is going on as some of the key events (especially the romance scenes) are connected to season 1 & 2 (lots of flashback happening).

For those who have watched season 1 &2, the review at the bottom is for you.
1. Season 3 is film with a higher budget (Xing Zhao Lin looks so so good right now). Even the make up is not over and just right to suit his composed character.
2. Rather than replaying the I-loss-my-memory- typical drama plot, season 3 out-stands this cliche as Xing Zhao Lin’s character did lose his memory BUT is reminded of his past at certain parts of the story when he comes into contact with Liang Jie.
3. Having played a character with two different personalities, I’ve got to say that Xing Zhaolin did a good job portraying the difference
4. For those who don’t know, this is Xing Zhaolin and Liang Jie’s FOURTH DRAMA TOGETHER!!
And so, the chemistry between the two are really really sweet and natural. (Do check out the drama “you are my destiny 2020” if you want to see XZL and LJ in a modern drama)

Overall, this drama might not be as suspenseful and heavy as other historical drama but I’m sure it remains a significant one for those who have watched season 1 & 2!!
Lastly, I can’t believe that this drama have been ongoing for the 5th year!! Let’s appreciate all the actors and production team for their effort :)!!
