Rewatched it immediately [lots of spoilers]
I feel so stupid for not figuring out the twist until late into the movie. There was some stuff that seemed off fairly quickly but I didn't correctly guess until close to the end. The different streaming services, the article about the 5 students even though there was 6, and the outfit differences. I started rewatching it as soon as the movie ended. Literally the 3rd scene in the cosmetology lab has our main character leave the lab with her yellow shirt and older white iphone, and start walking outside wearing her blue shirt with her rose gold brand new iphone.I love that kind of ending that makes you want to rewatch it to see all the hints you didn't know about. The twist that we were seeing 2 different timelines was SO good, plus the cameraman at the very end? Perfect.
I love horror movies and found this VERY fun to watch. I wasn't scared at all but I had fun searching for the ghost and creepy stuff in the background. I loved the dorm room with the person shaped stain on the ceiling and the scene with the mannequins, especially when the large mannequin's head slowly turns to look at her, then quickly snaps back once she turns around.
It had parts based on different urban legends (the elevator, the repeating stairwell, the courage test) that I've seen in other asian horror series as well. I'm a huge fan of that kind of stuff, so it was kinda fun being able to recognize that stuff.
I wasn't scared at all but someone I watched it with was very creeped out. Just depends on your reaction anyways.

I was really looking forwards to this show. I was a fan of Gichan on pdx101, and I'm always excited to see queer characters in korean dramas (especially main characters). This did NOT live up to the hype. I wouldn't watch it again and Im not gonna go tell all my friends to watch it, but i don't feel like it was a waste of time. It was still entertaining. It just could've been A LOT better. If it was longer and perhaps had a bigger budget maybe, then it could've been really good.
They did their best with the acting considering the script and characters. It was a few people's first acting jobs, but they did pretty good! The sparring / fight scenes were done well.
The writing was not my favourite. The characters were all quite flat (except for the friend who snitches on them, but even he had little depth). Gichan's character was extremely irritating until he confesses. It's a VERY generic angsty overused plot about a gay couple getting torn apart and disowned blah blah blah the story has been done a billion times already. Like couldn't they have added a 5 minute scene at the end or something with them being happy together rather than just ending with a kiss?
The ending was pretty abrupt and it felt like it should have been the middle of the show instead of the ending. Like that's it? There's nothing after that? I was so sure there was gonna be another episode or two after but nope! So that was disappointing as well.
The soundtrack was good at least?

The start of it is somewhat slow, but it does pick up a little ways into the film.
Byun Yohan and Park Jungmin both did amazing jobs. Park Jungmin's character was completely unlike any of his other roles that I've watched, so it was nice seeing him step outside his box.
I personally found both main characters to be relatable on one level or another, but thats just me.

I didn't find the movie scary at all, but there were parts that definitely felt gross. In a good way!!. It was fun to laugh at the gross noises and special effects. It felt like a third of the captions were just "squelchy crunchy noises" so maybe don't watch this while eating.
I would look for a different movie if you can't handle bodily fluids and general body horror.
Overall, it was a fun movie to watch with friends who also like horror to kinda joke about the plot and sfx. It's a horror movie rather than a scary movie. It's not gonna give you nightmares but it might turn your stomach.

Was it a great adaptation that stayed true to the original story? of course not.
The manga is fairly long, so they would obviously have to cut the story down a lot.
The plot threads they chose for this adaptation were kind of strange? They could have chose better fitting parts of the books.
I'm not sure if everything makes complete sense unless you have an understanding of the source material either.
It was a fun watch. The set and costume design was fantastic. I also quite liked the cinematography.
TL;DR great show for fans of XXXHOLIC. Odd story fragments but overall enjoyable.

There's not really any backstory for most of the characters, so some of the scenes have a bit different context than in the book. The ending was also changed from the manga.
Besides that, its a pretty faithful adaptation. It's a fun watch for fans and for people just interested in fashion.
