Greater Character Storylines and World building continue
Continues right where it left off and gets better with storyline and character development. You won't be disappointed. What a watch. I am hyped for the next half and love where it paused. This honestly does seem like the spot where you would stop and have a Season 2.
The plot thickens, the stories widen and its fun to see some characters return and some new ones show. I love how Saya is focused on, and we get more of his story than Eunseom. Although, I'd say it does make one forget he exists at times, but thats sort of the point for the characters and us as viewers too.
There's still unfinished thoughts but let's hope Part 3 sheds light on them!

Don't Trust Anyone
What. A. Show.If you want to watch this show or are thinking of getting into it, give it 2-3 episodes. You don't get easily hooked in the first one, so you need a tad more to really get intrigued by the storyline.
I loved the twists and turns, and like all the other reviews say - DON'T TRUST ANYONE. I loved being baffled, having my jaw drop at some revelations and thoroughly enjoyed the story's pacing. There's obviously holes to it and confusions, which is why I can't give it a 10, but I enjoyed the acting so still want to give props to how everything was executed - and for fellow peeps to get a chance to watch.
There's nothing more I could truly say without spoiling, so just sit back, relax and get ready for a ride ;)

My Mom who chose me
This drama is for those who are looking for a comedy that's not all romance... but rather an almost healing (surprisingly), yet enjoyable relationship of a family and their friends who are not your traditional pairings or tropes.Don't come into this looking for your usual romantic development and fluff - you'll get very little of that. Why? Because this isn't a story about a mother and daughter finding their partners. It's about a mother and daughter learning about one another, growing with each encounter and conflict, and about the world of non-traditional families and just love as it exists.
I love that the characters in this drama reflect the reality of many situations - not everything is selflessness and 'strong & independent'. Each character has their flaws and strengths, quirks and stories. Each relationship built itself differently, and developed at its pace.
The timing of some of the relationships (romantic, friendships etc) can be confusing and there might be tiny plotholes because of how the focus is on the mom-daughter, but its easy to let go since it wrapped up the same way its relationships were meant to be - you can't assume what is to come! You can only hope and continue on with what you have now.
I do agree the ending is not the easiest to figure out, but I just had my understanding of it, and hope you do too!
A definite recommend from my side to people looking for a non-cliché driven drama that doesn't follow your usual formula with wonderful acting and interesting character dynamics.

An Epic Fantasy that deserves more recognition
What a watch. I'm absolutely amazed at the intricate yet amazing world that has come about, the plot twists and characters. Part 3 didn't disappoint and even exceeded my expectations.I loved every episode and am so excited for the storylines that will come together for the Second season coming September 2023.
And were you looking for strong female characters? Then voila. I am impressed with the range of women in this show, be it those that learn as they go or those that persist with their strong personas.
There's quite a chunk unanswered at the end that might disappoint you, but I'm excited to find out.

World Building Fun - A Unique Must-Watch
Looking for a new historical fantasy drama with amazing setting and intriguing storyline? Then look no further. This part and it's following parts will definitely keep you hooked with its political plot lines, and the journey of its characters.I love this storyline. For one, I've never really watched any stories going this far back historically in kdrama/Asian fantasy land (maybe I'm missing out). But the way the lore unveils is enjoyable, and the setting is just phenomenal.
I agree with past reviews on why on earth is it in 3 parts, but I appreciate that they've built up everything to end where it does. It pushes you to see the next part, but you're also excited to now see what will unveil.
The names were very confusing initially but like all dramas with world building, you get used to it, and there's enough repetition of terms and names for you to eventually get it.
Can't wait to watch this further :)

A Promising Future for Korean Fantasy
Curious how the Korean drama industry does when it has its own version of historical inspired fantasy? Then Alchemy of Souls is your fit.The plot, acting, animation, set and costumes are all impressive and it's an enjoyable watch.
I'm an avid reader of Korean fantasy manhwas, and a murim world like Daeho is not unique when it comes to storylines like Alchemy of Souls.
I am however quite impressed with how they brought it to life via the live action lens. The creative freedom in hairstyles and set, and the fights and animations did not disappoint.
I am biased to this part of the story than part 2, but don't let that stop you from continuing on to finish the storyline!
All in all, given AoS' success, I look forward to the future murim inspired or webtoon adapted stories that will spring up in the coming years
I love me some world building 😌

Being a monster is infectious
WHAT. A. SHOW.Do you like 8-10 episode long mystery storylines with revenge plots, plot twists and a range of character storylines?
Did you like The Glory, Celebrity, Battle Royale and Squid Game?
Consider this somehow a decent mix of elements from each, combining to give you a twist-filled drama that also serves as a social commentary on bullying and the hierarchy world.
I thoroughly enjoyed each episode, rather appreciated the character development and the dynamics.
I do wish there was more to say on certain aspects, making it difficult for me to say it was 10/10.
a 9/10 from me!

A sports slice of life that hits just right
Are you a fan of Hospital Playlist and the Reply series? Do you like Slice of Life shows with varied pacing, cute side stories of its side characters and multiple couples? Then this show is for you. I also call any Haikyuu fans who love the sports storyline of "from nothing to something again".I loved watching each episode of this show. The characters were loveable, the timeline and pacing was chill and you didn't necessarily have to keep clicking to the next. But whenever I would watch the next, it would be a fun experience. I didn't realise this might be a sub-genre of kdrama that I might be into so I'll be sure to check similar plotlines in the future.
I personally am not the biggest fan of youngster couples - personal pref, but things were cutely done. Don't come into this expecting the usual romance developments though. Come for the general family, soft vibes.
A 9/10 from me :)

Explore Psychiatry Through the Lens of A Nurse's Journey There
If you're looking for a soft, healing drama that tackles psychatric conditions, showcases a range of character dynamics and has an episodic manner (each episode a psychiatric condition explored) with an overarching main character storyline, then this drama is for you!I enjoyed the format and aesthetic that this drama used, and the stories of each character, albeit some a bit too short than the other. You would grow with these characters over the 12 episodes. In my eyes this is the sort of drama you start on a random day to relax to, and pick up right where you left off.
I personally am not as big a fan of this storyline as I thought I would be, but I enjoyed the experience of watching it, so an 8.5/10 from me :)

Chinese Makjang with all your crazy evil side FL tropes
Looking for a makjang but want some fluff Chinese romance and adorable child actors? A teensy bit draggy plot, but Deng Lun scenes? Then this drama is for youI came into this unaware of the original Korean one, so the story was whoa to me. Over the top, lots of revenge and delulu characters, but I overall enjoyed it. Albeit not the most satisfying revenge personally to me, it was interesting.
An 8/10 for me since there's a few things that could've been done better but oh welp :) i'll watch the korean one sometime, altho in a bit

Chinese Webdrama with Amazing Acting
For those looking for something small, Cdrama-fantasy-like and quick paced. This is a fun watch with great chemistry and decent production for just 18 (8 on Viki) episodes. This is the first time I've ever really watched a chinese webdrama, but wow did I just enjoy every bit of this. The pacing was quite nice, storyline intriguing (with its teensy plotholes), and the chemistry was adorable. The production is also surprisingly good. I came in with no expectations and loved it.
A 9/10 from me ^^

Glimpse into Corporate Nastiness but Make it Professional
If you're looking for a corporate drama with a strong female lead, character development and a decent plotline, then this is for you!You get your usual rivalry stories, tons of "i want to strangle this person" moments and bits of what the advertising world is like. It dabbles on mental health and a different character dynamics, but overall the focus is your female lead, Go Ah In and her journey in such a cut-throat realm.
Personally, I enjoyed the drama. Looking back on it, there's a chunk of plotholes that never get addressed or feel thrown in, but its not as jarring an effect on the drama. Perhaps its to emphasize how certain things come and go in the flurry of an ever-changing corporate world. I definitely recommend it if you're just looking for something new, dramatic but still up your alley for strong female lead.
Its an 8.5 from me ^^

A soft yet healing drama
If you're looking for a drama that has beautiful shots, soothes the viewer and is perfect with a hot cup of tea or coffee whilst crocheting/knitting, then this is it. A plotline that builds bit by bit and culminates in the end in a somewhat soothing fashion. You grieve as they grieve, cry as they cry, and rejoice in the scenery and moments of courage.I enjoyed the character development and I definitely think it is the kind of drama you watch as you do something else, with a story prominent enough to stretch over a long period of time. While it might not hook you like it didn't hook me either, there's just something about its style that makes you not want to let go of it just yet.

POVs Galore
I jumped into this with hopes of something that hooked me - and it indeed did.If you're looking for a multiple POV storyline with a sprinkle of mystery and violence, then this is for you!
But the story fell short halfway through. I couldn't truly tell what kind of mystery I was watching and what on earth was going on with the character switches. It was an intriguing storyline and interesting execution in terms of storytelling.
Such a flow has its ups and downs, and to me personally, the downs were more apparent.
I wish there was more fleshed out in this show with less time jumps and more to each character. Rather the 7 episode limit gave a relatively superficial view of all the characters and no way to truly understand the intentions and development of each character.
The story was okay, the production great and the acting okay as usual. A 7/10 from me ^^

To each love story an ending of its own
Have you hit a phase of the more mature, less cliché, romance storylines? Are you looking for a variety of couple plotlines and don't mind some second hand embarrassment and cringe that's just as enjoyable? Then this drama is for you! This drama was hard to completely get into for me, but I loved the little love lessons you would get each episode. The storylines of a range of couples gets picked up near the end, and although its rushed, I don't mind. The plotline development is not necessarily new, but it has its own charm in showing us the downsides and negatives of breakups while also what goes on after.
It's an 8/10 from me moreso about just appeal and personal preferences - to each their own and if you're like me, watch this while doing something else on the side (like crocheting) to avoid getting too embarrassed at times for the leads.
