I came for both...more for the mystery. I was disappointed... but not entirely... I found the mystery part flat and the explanation lazy and lacking... yet, the refreshing friendship and bonding moments ALMOST made up for it... and the music and some cinematography were a great bonus.
The acting was good overall, not bad and not exceptional. The main actors were well cast and they did a good job portraying their roles. The rest of the cast also did a good job supporting them.
At the end, as long as I didn't think about the cringy mystery part, the movie left me with a good feel. I don't regret watching it but I wouldn't watch again.

I think i get the environmental message and appreciate the new light they shed on the issue of climate change, which was really thought provoking for me.
Last but not least, the unconventional attitude and actions of the family at the end left me with a warm heart and a teary eye.
"A beautiful star" gave me mixed feelings, I don't regret watching but I don't think I'd watch it again.
If you're going to watch, keep a very open mind and lower your expectations for the story to make much sense at the end.
