a bittersweet conclusion to the series (spoilers):

What a phenomenal final arc, a great way to symmetircally end the series. Gogryo has been established and for 15 years governed by the King and Queen...until....well, the rest is spoilers. All I can say is I was really sad to see the ending, but I was impressed with the integrity of the Queen. I think this drama did a wonderful job at balancing portrayala of various characters. Because in wars and establishing nations and protecting a nation, there is no place for clear distinctions between bad and good. Everyone has their interests that they must protect. I liked the final arc because of reintroducing Yuri- in terms of father-son storyline, it was the perfect symmetrical conclusion. Jumong knew his father only briefly then had to deal with the loss of his son, I thought it was good for him to have him back...even if yuri doesn't deserve it, because he is a brat that I wouldn't trust. But then none of the princess were really likeable. I have nothing against yesoya, except she didn;t raise her son very well. And the son didin;t learn much. He is in stark contrast to Jumong- who ha started out as a bratty prince but then learned the bitterness of life the hard way. Yuri learned the bitterness of life but then became a prince. His reaction to his father in episoe 78 shows how different he is from Jumong. Jumong would have grabbed at every possible moment with his father with more maturity. I sympoathise with yuri partly, but partly his reaction is very immature.

The final episodes also saw the loss of the General of the Left-nooooo, I was really sad that one of those early companions had to go, but it also showed how deeply they were all connected. So sad. I was a bit upset that the Queen decided to go, but it is historically accurate, it seems. History seems to be a bit harsher on Jumong in this respect, however. This has been one epic drama, encompassing a long period of time, Jumong;s expansionist policies, camaraderie and loyalty of his friends and the great loyalty of the Queen.

However, one of the highloghts of the last episodes was the fact that Jumong and Yuri visited GeumWa. It was a sign of caring and I trully appreciated this- it showed that there is still lingering form of recognition at least between Jumong and geumWa

It was a great experience, Jumong, to root for the underdog that he was an to meet a legend. The script aapted the history pretty well and did not seem to exclude anything. Jumong is both a legend byt other sources say he hated sharing power- I sometimes had this impression too that he does not understand fully the concept of unity and acting as one body. He was commanding from the start. But he showed deep affection for those whose loyalty he gained.

I really enjoyed the series.

I'm not buying it...

I find the excessive drama overload is nauseating. I know this is a melodrama, but it's just too much.

I hate that Han Jae has underlying motives. Why do Korean dramas always (or usually) make the second female lead evil? It just bugs the living daylight out of me. It makes it so much easier for Eun Gi to get by. Ok, I know that nobody understands Eun Gi, but it's so obvious that she's just rough on the outside, and soft in the inside. She's exactly a replica of Ma Ru, except female. Guess what? This leads to double pity fest.

I don't know if it's because I'm in no mood for some pity fest. But, the characters are too 2-dimensional up to this point. I don't want the writers to shove it down my throat that I should feel sorry for our OTP, and hate the wench. I just want to feel what the characters are feeling naturally. In this case, it feels rather forced.

Up to this point, there are only two shades of characters; they are either whiny/"feel sorry for me" or spoiled. Not a good sign.

It's such a shame how the scriptwriter is trying to make it so dramatic by having the characters being in the shady grey, when in reality, good vs evil is laid out in black and white for us viewers.

P.S. What the hell? Why would Eun Gi throw her friken cell in the aquarium? Such a spoiled brat...

P.S.S. Han Jae is so blatantly typical for Korean drama characters. Not every person in the world who marries an older man for money is a coward like that. It's always the two-face-b*tch against the angel in a devil's disguise.

Hilarious! :D

The first half of this episode was simply hilarious! I hardly laugh that much during dramas. It was amazing. Geol Oh is so adorable and dorky and naive in a way, and even Seon Joon was more funny than annoying with his I-do-nothing-but-look-cool-stance.

And Yong Ha, too. Haha, now he's afraid of ghosts. So cute. ;D

The rest of the episode was a little confusing. I feel sorry for the head student's sister.

Now I don't exactly get why Yong Hee is mad at Seon Joon, but I guess they will explain it in the next episode.

Anyway, this was definitely my favorite episode so far!

relative

I see everybody is angry about Jae Hee, but I think she was trying to help. Ma roo getting into the jail again was Eun Gi's fault, in the first place

she's like a stalker and she would do anything to prove that she's right and make problems to her "mother"

I think when Jea Hee said that she was black mailed she was just trying to get rid of Eun gi, to live her alone.... she would have never thoguht that Eun Gi would call the police and so one...

I feel sorry for all the characters. They're all misfortunate.

I can't waith for the next episode.

Finally...

Moon Chae Won is excellent. I like that she's a total B*t*h and not a stupid, spineless goody two shoes. Don't change....Jebal!

Needless to say I love Song Joong Ki and that I think he's awesome. He can do awesome "Go to hell" glares.

Geol Oh! .. And the rest. ;)

So that's how they find out.. Interesting. Or at least Geol Oh knows, I guess he won't tell Seon Joon yet.

And Yong Ha is interesting! I think that's another character I am going to like a lot. But Geol Oh is still my favorite. It's incredible that he still helped them win the Archery Competition, even if he didn't do much.

What I don't get is why Yoon Hee / Shik is going all mad and jealous on Seon Joon. Is he supposed to read her thoughts? She didn't exactly tell him that she likes him. :/

Oh and I never thought watching one hour of Archery could be interesting. Proved me wrong. :P

Geol Oh! <3

Yes yes yes! A Geol Oh Episode! I love him, he's awesome. I knew he was the rogue, too, wonder how he got out of that situation.

Now I hope he wasn't too late and that they can still compete (and win :P).

OMG

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO END LIKE THAT???

I almost died when that Jae Hee or whatever said that he tried to kill that daughter and now he returned the money cos he didn't succeed in his mission?!?!?!!? That bish is awful!

Why didn't you say that it was a friend from the past who helped you in past huh??? Why did you have to complicate things?!?! I have a feeling she will do it for next 10 episodes.

And how da hell did they race all of the sudden ans he saved that gurl's life once again? I wonder if he remembered her..

And that expression in the end....NOW ITS THE TIME TO APPRECIATE YOUR SISTER MAN!!!

I can't wait for next episodes...really

..

Huh, not much happened in this episode. Actually, nearly nothing happened at all. It dragged a little, but I was surprised it didn't get completely boring.

I'm actually looking forward to the next episode, wondering if Geol Oh will join them and of course if they are going to win or not. ;)

Wow!

First episode with our amazing Song Joong Ki was superb!

He already kissed few girls and already cried right at first episode!

The plot is interesting though my first impression was that it could be too heavy for me. But after a while I saw that the plot is changing and getting more interesting and the end was tense as well!!

I NEED TO SEE ALL 16EPISODES AT ONCE NOW!!!

How will I wait for another 14 ;-;

Ahah..

Ehe, some funny scenes again. I'm still in love with Geol Oh, but Seon Joon is kind of annoying. :/

And what bothers me, too, is that the main girl looks nothing like a man. Her face, her body, her movements, her voice - It's so obvious that it's ridiculous nobody notices it. Or at least wants to confirm it judging some of the scholars' characters.

I think either Geol Oh or the student head is the masket guy they are looking for. Seems like it's Geol Oh. This is going to be interesting. :P

About time

Finally, the story moved on from all the conspiracies behind who killed who to the more important matter: the gathering of all guardians and their symbols. It?s great to see all the allies together and hope to see more of them in the future.
