Honestly, I'm not into Japanese movies, especially the romance ones, but surprisingly, the first 20 minutes can get me hooked. Male and female lead cast members are doing a great job, superb acting! The story isn't something new, but I believe many people can feel related, and the pace is good—not too fast or slow. You can see the character development, although it's not that deep. One thing that is  disappointing for me is they didn't put any ost for the final sad scene ???!! like seriously....

artistic movie

this movie was quite weird, but fun. i liked how it portrayed the lives and struggles of the two, whilst the worms thing being confusing, i think this movie portrays an interesting perspective on love. it kinda feels like love is supposed to be a glitch in the code, but it seems to prevail despite the bug being fixed - thats how i see it. nana komatsu's acting is amazing as always, and kento hayashi is perfect similarly. acting is good, music is good, cinematography is good. the movie kinda feels like a daydream, which i like. i think this movie explores love in an unconventional, beyond surface level manner, and breathes fresh air upon the clusters of conventional romance films.

Cute and charming but held back by weird character design

I think this movie is overall ok and enjoyable with cute BL moments. My biggest problem is the story, namely the characters and how they are designed.

The "actor" in this story is really unusual and so hard to understand with what was provided in this movie alone. He seems so unprofessional with his interaction with strangers that it is hard to imagine that is considered to be particularly famous in the world of the story. He also has the strangest interests for a person which is fine alone, but when he decides to reveal and involve someone he has met for what appears to be a short amount of time, it feels... out of place. So, both his initial design and development seem flawed to me with it feeling like there's considerable backstory I'm missing or scenes that are just being skipped. Maybe this is explained better in the series? No clue. Unfortunately, this involved one of the main characters, so it puts a big wrench in the romance when his personality is the supposed "charm" that brings them together.

With that said, I would still recommend this movie as it was enjoyable for a fellow BL enjoyer. I think if I was a bit more impartial toward BL, I would probably not recommend this to myself.

The cat was my everything.

Man Suang was so beautiful.

This movie is so beautiful, the way it’s shot, the costumes, the sets, the dancing; oh my God don’t get me started on the dancing, I’m in awe over how they are able to bend and move that way.

It’s a family reunion!! I didn’t know Tong (Tankhun: KinnPorsche) was in this!!!

I can not wait for Shine the series!

Liked the ending. Worth watching but not a re-watch.

The plot is not new. The acting performances of all actors brought the somewhat stale storyline to life.

The story is about a cultural writer who goes to a very rural village to cover the age old folk tales in that village, tales of the Weasel Immortal, rat demons, and Fox Immortal. As he arrives at the village, they are holding a funeral for a dearly departed who was actually the one the tales were woven around. Piece by piece, the writer (also the narrator in the movie) uncovers the truths of events spanning 2 generations.

it's worth a watch when you've run out of good movies. but not so worth a re-watch.

It is under a different title on iQiyi, Northeast Folktales.

Good actors good basic structure wasted potential

It was a supernatural story with a super-stupid ending. I did not know how I coped up with this story, in the world of great storylines like A Tale Of Thousand Stars and Bad Buddy.

This story could have been so much better, there could be a better character redemption arc Zee's character and a better build in the MLs. The story could take a darker turn progressing and show a more terrifying style of presenting the same old cliche ghost tales. The ending made me question if the authors were honestly high while writing.

The scaring part was honestly so limited it made me question the genre of this series.

For me Nunew carried the series and the romance between ZNN made this torture a little better.

Please a better plot now ZeeNunew

At the very beginning I was quite excited to see a different genre of BL but this was some low end shit. I love ZNN but this was quite a disappointment as Nunew could bring just a little betterness to the lifeless plot.

If you use a different genre please use it properly.

Ok.. another thing.. the ghost apologizing is freaking funny.. what the heck was that lmao

Tawan (Key Patiphan Namsamut) and Tunn are a young couple who, from the moment they met, had a great connection, but over time their relationship changes and experiences stages that bring out the true being of each one.
Tunn is the "perfect" man for Tawan with whom he shared beautiful moments of his life. However, as time goes by, he begins to discover a new side of Tunn, who enters a circle of abusive and violent attitudes to the point of chaining him to the bed, making communication with others impossible and preventing him from going outside, even to go to work or university.
With this plot pretext, the director of the Thai medium-length film 'Limerence' manages to crudely teach us that we should not ignore the red flags in a relationship, and that at the first blow or violent attitude, we have to report it and get out of there; Although saying it seems easy and not many can make the decision, it is important to see and analyze the message it offers us in its little less than 60 minutes.
Love, "true" love, is not exempt from bringing tears and jealousy, but the truth is that it should give us peace and not suffering.
The film teaches us to understand that when it comes to interpersonal relationships, we cannot force the other to love us the same because at the end of the day, love is organic and born alone, so no matter how much we love someone, that person does not is obliged to respond to us in the same way (even if we have given our best).
Getting out of a toxic attitude is understanding the previous point, having the empathy to accept that the other loves us with what they have, and if we do not receive what we expect and according to what we give, the best thing is to leave their life without burdening them blame the other.
The importance of the film, far from showing a toxic relationship, is to tell the viewer what we should not fall for the person with whom we share a life.
Tawan held on for a long time until he decides to escape the relationship, however, will this way be the right way?
Also, wouldn't the story be different if behind the cameras, the harassed person is the harasser? What if after the lights are turned off and the filming equipment is removed, the perpetrator is the victim and the tortured person is actually the executioner?

The Time is Now

The first part of the movie was a little better than this sequel, but I'm glad I have now seen the story to the end. The plot combines past and present well and provides a satisfying conclusion to this complicated but entertaining sf adventure. Everything somehow falls into place.

One thing that bothered me while watching was the emphasis on comedy. The film uses every scene and every situation for some stupid jokes. There is one joke on a treadmill that was so stupid that I had to laugh, but otherwise the goofy jokes were just annoying. I also think that the screenwriters were sloppy because the plot flows somewhat forcedly from one event to another without a sufficiently logical sequence.

The special effects are great, the fights are very good, the characters are charismatic. There are a lot of details that make the film attractive, so I spent a fun evening with Alienoid 2 but I still have the impression that the film could have been much better and more dramatic in terms of atmosphere if it had taken itself a little more seriously.

Not a bad watch overall

June 2024
This is described as a Horror Film, but my idea of that genre is different. It can be horrific, but it isn't ghosts, demons and stuff going bump in the night.

It's a mild (hence rating, which is 15 on Netflix) slasher type film.

Kazuya is my cup of tasty and plays a cold, emotionless lawyer, Ninomiya Akira, who goes through the motions of 'normal interactions' with others.

He ends up on the radar of a criminal profiler and also becomes the target of a serial killer.

He is to marry a woman whose father's law firm he held a high position in; but on the shocking death of her father, he is now its Head.

As the investigation, serial killer, Akira's past and his own investigation into The Lumberjack, all converge, there are shock revelations and surprising outcomes.

I quite enjoyed this, but in true Japanese fashion, it is crazy, OTT and does have something of a 'B movie' feel to it. For me, that actually adds to the enjoyment.

There is obviously blood, but honestly it's unrealistic for the most part and really tame in comparison to some drama series, never mind other films!

There is also a quite disturbing aspect to it, too, which I found surprising and made me feel sorry for characters involved. Somewhat thought provoking at times.

I think it would have benefitted from more in-depth coverage of the past, when key characters were children. I found some aspects rushed and had the story given more time to those parts, that would certainly have created a stronger connection with some characters.

i love the producers of this film

the chemistry between the two really amazed me, Jung Hae In's acting really stunned me. and yea... actress Kim Go Eun in this film made me continue to like it, i was very late in watching this film, bcz the release is still very far away, namely in 2019 and i just watching it now??? it's a shame that a film as good as this is, i'm only watching it now. i like every time they meet, every laugh they make in this film makes the audience fascinated and of course carried away by the atmosphere... omg, in terms of shooting, the color tones in this film are crazy. and interesting facts about this film include the song Fix You from Coldplay, that's what makes me love this film even more, crazy, idk how to express it, but this film is very beautiful. being set in the 90s will certainly give a slightly more authentic impression, if i may say thank you to the producers of this film, i will say that sentence rn. there are many lessons to be learned here, the various feelings i expressed when watching this film, made me sway here and there

Water, water everywhere....

I decided to be generous and reward this short film with a correct rating. It was Ok and somehow it wasn't. I liked the quirkiness of the beginning but they just had to go and ruin a cute story with stalking. When kids stalk each other it is often cute, here we are talking about adults so even though her stalking is not threatening it is definitely creepy and immature and not romantic. Still, they gloss it over completely...

The story is simple: a young woman who cannot help but hear the pattern (BPM beats per minute) in every sound, longs for the underwater silence and has only one friends, falls for her friend's boyfriend's friend Mizu and starts stalking him trying to figure out why her own heartbeat accelerates when she's near him. She records everything in a notebook titles Beats for Mizu.

The acting is excellent, the cinematography pretty, watery, subtle and light. There is a lot of water in this film starting with the story of little mermaid up to the ML's name. The music is excellent and it delivers emotions when the main characters cannot. The friendship between two young women is precious. I almost wanted this to go the GL route! The first boufriend/kis scene was hilarious: the awkward youth!

Nice short watch!

so funny and enjoyable!!

rewatching this in 2024 and it still feels enjoyable. this is the first Thai movie i watched, Punpun and Thiti are the first Thai actors i knew, i remember watching May Who when i was in elementary school. the plot is light and very funny, i can't stop laughing. the portrayal of Pong's sincere love and Thiti is very sweet and handsome, it's so delightful to see. i will definitely rewatch this again, what a good old movie!

Tor and Thanaerng made this movie even enjoyable. even though it lasted 2 hours, it felt very short because it was so enjoyable.

very chilling, good story

I enjoyed this!
It’s very spiritual which I enjoy. The overall vibe and tone was so chilling. It set the environment well. The last few chapters were a bit confusing as things were getting revealed but that is bc I am a westerner, so I had to do some pausing to look up things for context. Which I found enriching. I actually learned a bit of history bc of this. But I liked the story. Knowing the context behind some of the stuff puts the puzzle pieces together.

Regardless of that still a solid horror/thriller. Not overtly scary per se but had decent jump scares. The vibes were so creepy, that was scary enough. I found myself invested in the mystery and the characters despite there not being a ton of backstory on them. But i found that was okay. Some of the interactions, flashbacks, etc told me everything I needed to know.

Would recommend!

Confusing and poorly explained, with abrupt transitions and unclear relationships.

Confusing and poorly explained, jumping between different elements of folklore and shamanism without cohesion. Many key relationships and plot points are left unclear, making it hard to follow the story. Despite a promising premise, the film relies too much on audience interpretation, leaving viewers with too many unanswered questions. The transitions between supernatural elements are abrupt and disjointed, leading to a lack of suspense and engagement. Overall, the plot's lack of clarity and coherence made the movie a frustrating watch.

A decent dramedy.

The story revolves around four best friends as they set out on the dream trip they planned as teenagers. The long-overdue trip finally happened after their friend’s death, as they rekindled old bonds to pay their last respects to their late friend.

The premise of a group of friends going on a road trip does seem entertaining, especially when it involves the big names of leading ladies. When it comes to a movie with many leads, it’s essential to establish the characters, personalities and backstories. Throughout the movie, viewers will discover their individual personalities and backstories, but somehow the character development is pretty weak. I personally think that the only thing that saves this movie is the four leads and their natural dialogue delivery. However, there are sequences that tend to be stressful because there’s a lot of arguments and fights along the way.

The movie starts out okay, but as the story progresses, there are quite a few noticeable faults here and there, to the point where it gets lost somewhere. The flow could've been a lot better if some crucial parts of the story were tackled and handled well. Even so, it isn't all that bad.

Overall, this road trip movie is something to enjoy for its performance. It seems like there’s no acting in this movie, as all of them just had to be themselves and show how friends should really treat each other.
