The story is a typical melodrama with some comedy, cute moments, and the supernatural thrown in. I get why the drama was cut short. The story was going nowhere fast. Maybe it was a lack of chemistry, but the romance was lacking. I appreciate the writer's attempt to delve into the psyche of a person with a horrible or devastatingly sad childhood. I also enjoyed the dynamics of all of the father son relationships. I just didn't see the point of the supernatural aspect. The story was just so pointless. It wasn't horrible. It is just nothing special even with all the potential. Plus the ending sucks.

I would have dropped this f it weren't for Lee Dong Wook. He strangely made Hong Bin seem real to me. Through the bad writing and quirky character I could see the man with a warm heart that was so in pain that he made himself and those around him miserable to the point that he grew blades. It is an interesting concept. Too bad that is all it was.
OMG...Shin Se Kyung will just never get better. She had her cute moments as Se Dong, but they seemed forced and in the end she reverted back to that blank stare. I knew it going in. I only have myself to blame. It wasn't all her though. The writing of her selfless character isn't great either.
The other actors are fine, but nothing stands out.

The music is OK.

I will NEVER rewatch this.

I don't recommend this drama. It is mediocre at best. I only gave it a 7 because of Lee Dong Wook. I probably over ranked it.

I don't know how to write a preview without being spoiler :) so i wil try to make it short.
The leads here are not typical at all , so if you are looking for cool arrogant male lead or cute naive girl , you won't get it .both lead have a weekness points in their personality have to be recognized and fixed.the silence play a role in the drama was impressive , the superpower and the blades were metaphor and choice the lead has to make
I find the story simple ,but indirect
The direction , cinmatography and the music were awesome
Lee dong wook was perfect and his expression was wow
SSK was cute but sometimes i get annoyed by her stare gaze esp.her character needed more expression
Kim kap so was perfect too
The flaws, it has a slight slow pace , the supporting characters were needed to be more contributed . the first episode was over the top .over used of flash backs at the first
.enjoy it ,thanks

What a intelligent drama! It is refreshing and different. The world would be a better place if people live like the leads here! The characters are good decent people. Dont have so much of the silly shenanigans to create conflict. Each character has to reflect and figure out how to deal with the situation in the best way.

It is slow but stay with it. I found lots of gold nuggets in this drama!

The "pathetic" quote is my all time favorite line in Kdrama. I always hate how rich male lead would sweep in and "save the world" for the poor female lead. This is like a "reply" to that cliche. Kudos for the writer for coming with that line. Simply! wow wow wow!!

Most people dont like this show. So message me if you do!!

As my hands were exhausted from all the fast-forwarding, I actually switched to just reading recaps of this drama for the last few episodes. I just couldn't watch this and its non-existent plot anymore. Too bad, because I was pleasantly surprised at the tone of this when I first started watching. I was intrigued, but the show never delivered on its promise.

My Rating: 6.5

In Short: This show started out with funny humor and a fantastic comic-booky vibe, but this was unfortunately lost in the melo of it all. I really struggled to understand the motivation of all the characters. For me, they all seemed nonsensical. WAAAAAH

Pros: Secretary Ko was unbelieveably adorkable. He and the set design really stole the show for me.

Cons: Quite difficult to understand what is going on, and I think that it might not be a language barrier thing… So many of the plot threads were just really badly though out and badly executed. Plus, there were entire episodes with just melo staring and flash-backing. Lee Dong Wook did a good job with hilarious overacting which fit the show well, but he looked really tired.

Don't Understand how this is Rated Anything Above a 2

It's about a CEO who has unresolved anger management issues and whenever he gets pissed he turns into a porcupine and it rains. That's all I have to say about the story lmao. Even for Lee Dong-Wook fans, I would not touch this drama. I couldn't help but giggle whenever I saw him pissed. The FL also does not do any favors for the viewer. From what I remember, she cries. A lot. For a drama that's supposed to be centered around romance, there was little to none felt while watching this drama. All the interactions were weird and everyone is mean to each other.

Drama started off really good, really funny. The starting plot was actually very interesting and made me want to just keep watching. Until i got to the last 5 episodes. Its like they changed writers or something. Drama left too many plot holes and just left me with too many questions. I would not re watch or recommend this drama to anyone. Its a shame, this drama had so much potential.

It's difficult to talk about why I disliked this show without spoilers, so I'll keep it short.
The story itself is interesting as a concept, but the development is virtually nonexistent. Usually I get sucked into dramas and want to watch one episode right after the other, but for this drama I could end the episode 20 minutes in and come back later. I understand that most of the characters are trying to be psychologically developed, but all I saw were a bunch of 5 year olds running around. The love line was awkward and I couldn't get into it. The father is the most natural character, and the butler is hilarious - those are the only 2 characters that skidded me to finish this drama. There are SO many loopholes that it is almost painful, and there are too many people that are easy to hate. The editing in general bothered me every episode and the amount of repetition that happened made me feel as if I were going to go mental myself. The music was usually awkward or unusual that I didn't know what I was supposed to be feeling throughout it. Overall, while the actors and actresses themselves did their part well, there's nothing you can do if the character is poorly developed alongside poor editing.

despite good actors, this is one of the worst drama I have ever seen, do not waste your time watching it!

the music is rotten, like violins in loop

the story is awful, the gentiles suffer martyrdom all along, the wicked end up rich, forgive, or disappear from history without explanation

spoiler:

hongbin and taehee are so in love, but hongbin's father does not accept taehee, he's so ugly

his mistress (father) hires a henchman to beat taehee, she does not die but is terrorized and hides by making believe what is dead

so separated from her love she gives birth to their child in secret, but she is sick because of the wounds, it is incurable and she suffers in secret for 7 years

... lazy to tell everything, this story is so pitiful

This drama was so cheesy but so cute! I loved the cast choices and I found it very entertaining. I felt closure at the end which is what I like. Lee Dong Wook is one of my favorite actors and I was very happy with his role, he is always amazing. The story line was interesting. I found myself wanting to know more about all the characters and following everything with ease. I've watched better dramas and i've watched worse dramas. I find that it falls in the middle of them. It's romantic, suspenseful, and funny. I don't really re-watch most dramas. I'm glad I watched it and I recommend you do too.

What did I just watch?

When I had originally put this show on my plan to watch list, it was because the photo that's displayed, I did not even read the synopsis. I just saw a man with blades coming out of his back and thought cool, let's watch.

Now having seen the show, I just I can't. The synopsis given for the show, I felt doesn't really portray what the show is about, but at the same time, I can't really tell you what the plot of the show is either. Because quite frankly, I am not really sure. The show was all over the place, it brought up a lot of topics but never fully address anything and I was left with a lot of unanswered questions.

Would I recommend this? No.
Was I satisfied with the ending? Also, no.

Blade Man/Iron Man (2014) - I would have this drama good if it was nicely written, I guess? I don't know the main reason but I think there is something wrong with this drama that I was not really engaged into it as much. Lee Dong Wook is perfect for the male lead. He delivers his role perfectly, and acting wise his really great. The female lead on the other hand, I was not really her fan in this drama but she is good, especially with crying scenes. The story between the male lead and his father is heartbreaking for me as watcher, and that what captured me best in this drama. Other than that, it was a drop. So I would not recommend this drama.

Mixed Thoughts and Feelings

I have a lot of mixed feelings and thoughts about this drama.

I first tried to watch it a long time ago before I knew who Lee Dong Wook was and couldn't get into it.
I am not a big fan of the arrogant CEO/Leading Man trope, especially the ones where they are not only arrogant but emotionally and verbally abusive as well. And this one seemed even worse than others I've watched as he is also physically abusive here as well and it was hard for me to see a reason to continue.
After becoming a fan of Lee Dong Wook I decided to try to give it another chance simply because he was in it. It took more than one attempt though. On the third try I pushed through the first few episodes. Once I managed that I found that this story has a lot more depth and complexity than the other arrogant, abusive CEO stories. It revealed the origins of how he became that way. Showed him having true insight and desire to change. Instead of being like other romances where he just changes out of nowhere simply because he likes the girl (or sometimes doesn't change, but the girl ends up liking him anyway).

I think there were a lot of things I still didn't like about the story, but I found a lot more to like than I expected I would too.

The main reason I like it is because Lee Dong Wook is often so wonderful to just watch. He is so expressive. Especially when he's showing his gentle side. There were times when his anger seemed quite forced and unnatural in this show though.

There were lots of moments that were pure, over the top, ridiculousness that I didn't care for too.

What I liked second most, was Han Jung Soo as Secretary Go. He portrays such an unlikely blend of hotness and adorableness. He made me laugh a lot and made me want to hug him.

But there were things about the story that, if one looks for it, shows more meaning than one might expect initially.
