I thought this movie was hilarious honestly. Mostly because I appreciate a good dose of some gross humor, sex, and realistic events. Despite there being no real solid plot, I still enjoyed most of it. The topics that most college kids or young adults enjoy focusing on are generously scattered throughout this film. Much appreciated since rarely see this kind of bold approach in box office Kmovies.

I don't want to say the movie gave me a sense of nostalgia, but more like a feeling of familiarity. Especially because the boys reminded me of my buddies back in school.

Despite there being no hot eye (guy) candy in the film the actors were still pretty ok and more importantly believable. Ha Ji Won did a great job.

The music was pretty generic and simple but I didnt really mind.

Overall, I would recommend this to someone if they appreciate this kind of humor and racy scenes. It's a good time killer if you're bored and want to laugh.

I decided to watch this movie out of sheer boredom. Went into it not expecting much but boy was i surprised. When I was half way in I literally called my cousin so we could re-start it and watch it together. The story was somewhat simple but with complex problems that you wouldn't expect. The cast blended well together no one out shined another. Everything was great the ridiculousness of how the story went on made it even better. I wasnt paying too much attention at the music because honestly I was busy laughing. I'll definitely rewatch it because Im going to make everyone I know watch it. This movie is worth it. Now I'm off to watch Sex Is Zero 2

I often sub on Viki.com, when I found old movie with Ha Ji Won I thought I could give it a try, and... well this movie is so terrible I can even start to describe why.

Story was mix of two american movies "American Pie" and "Bring it on" (that cheerleading movie). The main lead was soo annoying I cloud not stand him, just so pathetic. Whole movie is fill with gross and stupid stuff. Ok I have to admit fact that I watched that movie while doing subs I laughed one or twice. But overall this movie is completely waste of time. Guy is in one-site love with a girl which physically hurts him several times and afterwards she needs his help. Korean actors are usually very handsome but in this show none! I say no one is good looking! Even in this area this movie failed.

A poignant drama disguised as a comedy.

I watch dramas for the romance. This movie had a romance that made me think. Blending an American Pie type show into a poignant drama with the dark side of abortion was something I never expected. The comedy, which was often weird, help emphasize the impact of what one young woman was going through. I think it was intended to show that while some are playing and having fun there are women out there who have just made a life decision and are in physical and emotional pain.

Contrary to other reviews, I thought the acting was great. It was supposed to be slapstick comedy and it was. I laughed and I got angry. Not many movies can bring out those two emotions. It was thought provoking.

Ha Ji Won did a fantastic job with her portrayal of Lee Eun Hyo. She was just starting her acting career and it must have taken guts to accept this role. She play it with style and grace. I got, what I felt, was the true meaning of this movie and I enjoyed every moment. She made it feel real.

And one final comment about romance. Don’t ever think the person who is whispering sweet things in your ear is better than the devoted one in front of you without giving it a lot of thought. The grass is rarely greener on the other side of the fence.

Unexpectedly poignant - Let me present an alternative angle

Unexpectedly poignant, while inspired by American college movies, carries its own message of responsibility, inspired by asian culture. The movie deals with real topics such as sex, consent & abortions while trying to provide it with some levity and not be a total bore while dealing mature themes. The humor is crass, dirty, sexual & funny? Well it depends on your taste, however, it is daring and does not shy away, playing chicken with the audience.

I can see why Ha Ji Won accepted this role as the film is NOT an all thrills and no frills. It has some substance. Although its heavily leans towards portraying men's sexual desires, It also pays attention to the female perspective and desires. The quality in acting that stood out for me is that throughout the movie it goes into a silent movie style, where the actors are relying on their expressions and body to act out the scenes. The supporting female actors in this movie are brave to expose themselves in a major film in 2002, especially in a reserved society where slut shaming, ostracising are not out of the question.

Overall, the movie is different to its American counterparts, and I say it is all the better for it. So far, it stands the test of time for me. Although it depicts an encounter around consent, or rather the lack of it. It is not shown to condone it, nor does it provide an obvious conclusion.

Its easy to dislike the film because of nudity, sexual themes, depiction of perverted men & women, lack of consent, drink spiking and dare I say date rape. But, this is the reality of our world. Perhaps this should be viewed as cautionary tale and one to learn from rather than enjoying in a purely hedonistic nature.

Also, its better that a film portrays these incidents as this whats faced in reality. The alternative would have been to ignore the problems and focus on just the 'wholesome' part of society. I prefer the reality.

Bunch of average (anywhere) college kids having fun, but overshadowed with an adult crisis...

There is criticism from other reviewers about thsi film, but it does exactly what I believe the director wanted to do: combine a group of misfit college students together in a college/university setting and throw in a real-life drama as well!

A typical love story,: a non-traditional college student Jang Eun Shik (Im Chang Jung) falls for the junior hottie and athlete Lee EunHyo (Ha Ji Won), but whose awkwardness and lack of social skills makes him less that appealing, in the beginning. As in every love triangle, junior Lee EunHyo falls for the handsome and popular Ham Sangok (Jung Min)....and winds up in a one-night stand with him, drawing the ire of his jilted girlfriend , Kim Ji Won (Jin Jae Young), and a one-night stand pregnancy.

However, the rich Ham Sangok believes a credit card and a trip by her to an abortion clinic can save his reputation and future; and Lee EunHyo turns to the bumbling Jang Eun Shik to give her moral support, accompanying her to the clinic. Afterward, Eun Shik takes her back to her place, carng and entertaining her as the reality of her decision takes hold. The actress Ha Ji Won does an excellent job (along with the accompanying music) showing her slowly falling in love with him as he tried to make her laugh and forget her mistake and hurting.

Later, Eun Shik finds her bleeding to death after her competition, saves her life, then forces Ham Sangok to go face the music of a hospitalized Lee EunHyo and her mother.

Weaved around this love triangle story is the antics of a typical mischievous college students; this makes the movie seem more live-like, in my opnion. As a former college student myself, even a conservative college in America's Midwest can admit that such antics take place, and it made the whole movie seem real.

Sex in college is where the average students, separated from family and (church) friends, find out about sex and how "far" an individual can go without gettting hurt, as this movie points out.

Even though it is rated my many as a terrible movie, I have had older friend who went to college, and they said that the antics protrayed reminded them of their college years as well, albeit the movie antics are a bit "exaggerated"...

Minimal nudity (mainly breasts), although many references to sex acts and eroticism throughout the movie; which I say again actually happens with many college students leaving home for the first time. I actually thought it was better than the movie, American Pie (1999).

I thought that the cinematography of this semi fast-paced movie was good; as most guys would be more interested in the boobs scenes anyway.

RE-WATCH: definitely, especially if you went to college and want to reminisce their forgotten days of college.

Korean American Pie

Whoever makes Ha Ji-won cry will have to answer to me!! ?

The things I put up with to watch her in anything... Ashhhhhhhhhhhhhi

It's en entertaining movie but it's crude and gross (expected) but just not very good, unfortunately. I hear the sequel is better but at this point I'm giving up on this "franchise", if you want to call it that.

Only recommended for Ha Ji-won completionists, and only that. Or you're curious to see a Korean take on American Pie (why would you though?)
