What a blast!

I love how this movie takes itself seriously and presents a well-flowing narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat constantly, and not because of contrived reasons but because of dynamic and varied characters with their own goals... AKA a well written movie.

The plot and main beats are quite predictable but that doesn't detract from the movie at all. The zombies' traits are clear, and played to both their strengths and weaknesses.

Huge praise should be given to the stunt crew who made it all believable by throwing themselves like the batshit crazy people they are on every object in that movie. They're scary and completely insane and I loved it!

The contrived setting adds to the movie immensely.

Incredible work and a worthy addition to the zombie genre. It has emotional gravitas too which is also quite the rare sight in this genre.

The movie delivers the goods

I preface this by saying I am not a person who's really into the zombie genre but there are some genuinely good zombie movies out there.

Train to Busan did not disappoint!! Well written and well acted, with some humorous moments.

I was 30 minutes in and I was wondering how the movie could possibly be almost 2 hours long on a train. The level of tension, suspense and action never waivered. I was super impressed. Gong Yoo was excellent and Ma Dong-seok was fantastic! I mean the entire cast is really good. The young actress Kim Soo An playing Gong Yoo's daughter was good too!

I loved the scene where Ma Dong, Gong Yoo and Choi Woo Shik are in the bathroom waiting for the next tunnel and Gong Yoo ask why Ma Dong has that as his ring tone. The whole scene is great and it was an excellent tension breaker. Ma Dong's speech about Gong Yoo's daughter understanding him later was also on point.

Of course there is always a character in these films that you hate and I was so mad he made it til the end. Total bastard.

It took me a long time to rate this movie properly
But I couldn't get through they killed almost all of the leads
For all those high ratings I expected a brilliant movie
But the story was ok
It was all about struggling to survive from a real chaos
Till now I don't know why they killed all of them
Which I hated a lot that's why I rated 6/10
I hated when (dong seok) died more than when (gong Yoo) die 😔😔😭😭😭😭
And I hated the movie more when woo shik and his girlfriend died
I told myself OMG that psycho writer is going to kill the whole country in this way

But I saw an important message behind this movie
1 selfish person could kill many

It wasn't fair at all that the train rider rescued Yong suk
He was the main reason they all got killed
I hated that stupid selfish man with all my heart I want to kill him by myself really

And I saw what happened to him wasn't fair for all what he did to others
He should be rescued and get hanged then

I have to admit the events made me eat my nails from anxiety but still hated the end

And I think both the pregnant lady and the kid will take months in Psychiatric treatment to get well back

But what I didn't understand
Was the kid going to stay with the pregnant lady??
Is that mean that her mother was also infected and dead ???
I didn't get the end well
But I think so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't even know what to say and how to say it

I don't usualy like zombie movies, most of them are boring, but this one is on another stage. I have never cried this much about a movie.
The acting, the production, the visual FX. Everything is perfect.
IT NOW ENTERED TO MY VERY FAVORITE FILMS ZONE.

The Dead Ain't Slow

I like a good zombie movie, and this did not disappoint. I was surprised by this because the main character was the guy from Coffee Prince and Goblin. I had seen those before watching this, and was only exposed to his romantical stuff. Wasn't sure about how'd he do in a horror environment. I wasn't disappointed.

As far as Zombies go I don't think Rick and his merry band of plucky survivors ftom the Walking Dead is getting on the Train to Busan. These zombies don't play around. The group wouldn't make it out the terminal.

Definitely worth the watch.

WILL MAKE YOU CRY

This movie is so good. I CRY EVERYTIME I WATCH IT! This story worked so well and the actors portrayed it perfectly. If you're scared of zombies I don't recommend it. some characters will annoy you but if you don't hate a character in a movie is it even good? (maybe I'm just a hater) seriously great watch. has some unexpected outcomes but it will warm your heart. OH children are involved in this movie about being trapped on a train with zombies. do with that information as you will.

Be ready to cry?

One of the BEST Zombie movies ever made. It zooms in the cruelty of humans against the instinct cruelty of zombies.
Excellent acting, directing and an emotional rollercoaster.
I recommend it without a dought.
Even if you dont like zombie movies like my friend did, watch it, you will then change your mind.
Gong yoo is an extremely talented actor and we know that over many of his movies.
Many Korean actors that you will later see in many Korean Dramas and movies, made a debute at Train to Busan.

First Korean film!! Looooooooved it!!!! I'm such a fan of this genre of film, so when I heard about the film I decided I had to watch it immediately. Wasn't disappointed.

Story:
The story, in comparison to other zombie-themed films and series, isn't too unique. An outbreak occurs, pandemonium arises, shit gets real. That being said, that didn't make it boring or predictable, at least in my opinion. They added a few interesting elements to the characteristics of the zombies, which I liked. Also, they didn't try to sugarcoat what was happening, if that makes sense. A zombie apocalypse happens, that means almost nothing should go the characters' way, and the movie really sticks to that.

Cast:
8 points just for Gong Yoo, lol. Idk I love that man. The other cast members were also cool. I liked how the main characters, and even some side-characters, had their own story. It meant that you weren't just rooting for one person, but a group of people, to survive. Major props to the little girl, she is quite the actress considering some of the scenes she had.

Music:
I have such a bad memory when it comes to music lol. That's the only reason why I give it low scores. I don't remember any particular track, although I do remember ominous music, which is quite obvious. Anyway, it wasn't bad, but not good enough for me to recall anything much.

Overall:
Go watch asap. If you liked World War Z, you'll like this.

Train to Busan is a MASTERPIECE I tell you. I don't know if anyone would agree with the perfect 10's I gave it. I just feel that it deserves such a perfect score and all the other praises it got from IMDb and movie critics alike. It's thrilling because of its genre and makes you jump out of your seat quite often. But more than anything, underneath the gore and suspense, is a story about the human heart. Train to Busan reveals just how easy it is to be compassionate when you're in your comfort zone, in that safe and secure little bubble, doing your routine everyday. But what happens when at work, a mistake effecting catastrophic consequences of exponential proportion turns everyone's world upside down and human empathy and loyalty are severely tested by nothing more than a basic human instinct to survive? Train to Busan really makes you reflect about what it really means to be human in a world where everything--and I mean everything--literally falls apart. Society and sanity break down and all anyone cares about is how to stay alive. It shows just how devastating selfishness can be and how powerful sacrificial love is.

I can't say anything else about this movie. Acting, special effects, storyline, production all perfect. If you haven't seen it, go and watch without the slightest hesitation. Be blown away by how stunning this gem is.

I'm not a fan of zombie movies, but this one...is an exception.
My first thought was: how does a zombie movie go on a train? It actually worked xD
This movie really deserved an oscar, and I think Oscars should represent Korean films as well because there are so many good ones like this, Old boy, I saw the devil, A taxi driver (I have not seen this one, but I believe it will be incredible) and there are so many freaking good actors. Anyway I enjoyed every second of this movie.
The cast made a great job.
The cinematography it's amazing.
What I really like about this movie, is the relationship between the daughter and her father.
This is a MUST-watch

The Best Zombie Film To Date

I was recommended to watch this film by a close friend of mine, he knows I love horror/drama films and the fact that it's a Korean based film is even more up my alley. Then I found out this was on Netflix, so I finally got to watch it! I can honestly say this is the strongest zombie film I've ever seen, I know that's a huge statement to make since some U.S. based zombie films are well regarded. However I have my reasons, which I will get into.

First of all whatever cameras they used to film this movie I would kill to play around with! This movie was beautiful and so crystal clear in picture. There are fantastic shots done in this film and I really appreciate it for that. Also the special effects themselves were top of the line, that deer at the beginning looked fantastic. Seeing hoards of zombies running and falling over each other like a tidal wave was horrifying, there is so much great tension in this film. Also, the actors they got to play the zombies were fantastic in the way they moved and contorted. The movie also didn't need to use disgusting visuals to get it's point across, which zombie films/series do quite often. Sure there's some of that, but its not overly grotesque.

Every character had personality. I don't personally know any of the actors in this film (update: now I do lol!), but they made a lasting impact on me! Everyone was great, but the 2 that stood out the most to me were the dad (Seok-woo) played by Yoo Gong and Yong-guk played by Woo-sik Choi (update: who's my boy now haha). Both played emotion with such expression and guttural tones that I felt their performances were the most noteworthy. Also... Woo-sik Choi is very cute, so I'll be checking him out in "Parasite" as well (update: lmao sorry for the updates, but I did see him in Parasite and he's even better there!)

When characters die throughout this movie, you feel the loss. Which is the greatest compliment you can give a film like this. Seriously though I never in a million years thought a zombie film would make me cry, this one did that to me TWICE. Holy crap what a tear jerker, I won't spoil it but be prepared to have your heart broken. The action and drama flowed very well together, even when the scenes were slower paced I was still completely invested. Definitely check this one out and give foreign films a chance! Don't use reading subtitles as an excuse to skip fantastic movies like this one, it just makes you look lazy!
