When Fujio, Yoshio and Akiko were children, they saw a fantastic "Ryoumou Deer," but nobody believed them. The three siblings lived in a mountain village. Twenty-five years later, the eldest child, Fujio, still lives in the same village and runs a family factory business but is in serious debt. The middle child, Yoshio, lives in the psychiatric ward of a hospital. The youngest child, Akiko, now lives in Tokyo. She fell in love with a man and ran away there.
