COULDN'T FINISH
Just to be clear, I liked the First Season. But this was so slow, so repetitive, so contrived. I got frustrated about 10 episodes into it, but watched another 10 before I just had to stop. Endless scenes of people forcing someone to eat when they don't want to. WHY? How does that propel a plot or reveal character or deepen a romance?It felt like we took a step back on all fronts. First, the direction is not as good. The script is not as good. The acting is not as good. And the story seemed to start all over again, rather than progress. The same things happen over and over again, with the characters repeating themselves each time they do. While the first season felt like a real slice of life, this felt ridiculous. All the fantasy sequences (was that a Brokeback Mountain reference?) were totally unnecessary. The characters don't evolve, so the actors are stuck expressing the same things. This should have been called Groundhog Day, because it was like reliving the exact same scenes on an endless loop. Including a carnival, a christmas fair, a music competition just for the visuals, but where nothing really happens to move the story forward - was just a waste of time. These 39 episodes should have been cut down to 13. Then they would have been jam packed with story and character.
I got really confused around episode 4, when the 2 couple went away. Yu admits that they are not in a real relationship. Yet 16 episodes later, she's still his date for the christmas fair. Why are either of them continuing with something they both know is a sham? There is ZERO pressure on them to stay together.
Similarly, Phun and Aim are troubled, seem to break up, but stay together, even though she's sleeping with a BUNCH of other guys and always nags him about how inattentive he is. Then dump him. You obviously are not into him. He's not into you. You walk out of one man's bedroom, then ask to get back together with your boyfriend? This makes no sense.
While the first season included much more high school life, this became "how many BL couples can we create to maintain your interest- since we''re going to take 52 episodes to have our characters admit the thing they've been feeling since Episode 2." The only side character I really cared about was Earn, since we have known about his crush since last season and his heartache is palpable. At least Win's story dealt with some topical issues but other than that I didn't know enough about his character to truly care.
What's most frustrating is that I like the main couple and would like to see their evolution and hopefully a happy ending for them, but I can't take another 19 episodes to get there.
Sorry fans, I would not recommend this one AT ALL. Too frustrating.

Considered to be the first Thai BL series and also the initiator of the expansion of Asian boy love dramas to the rest of the continent and the world, 'Love Sick The Series' explores the experiences of students who attend an exclusively university. male called Friday College, based on the budding love story between Noh, the president of his music club, and Phun, the vice president of the Student Council of the aforementioned house of higher studies.The series has two seasons: the first aired in Thailand from July 6, 2014 to September 21, 2014, with 12 episodes, and the second in 2015, with 36 episodes. In April 2019, the main characters appeared in the three-part miniseries 'Reminders'.
Broadcast on Channel 9, the series is directed by Andy Rachyd Kusolkulsiri, the filmmaker of the Thai queer scene for writing and directing both the first season, as well as many other series and films, such as the homoerotic drama 'Me: My Familiar People', which caused a stir due to the strong sexual scenes, and for being the producer of the comedy 'Tom Gay', which portrays the relationships of a gay and lesbian couple.
Also behind the cameras are Cheewin Thanamin Wongskulphat ('Why R U?', 2020), who plays Jenny in the first season, a director, producer and owner of Copy A Bangkok who is credited with being the first producer of the series Y in Thailand, and Yuan Tin Tun Danop, the director of 'Hit Bite Love', the daring series adorned with sexual scenes and sadomasochism, the films 'Tom Gay', 'Let's Go Bangkok Holiday' and 'The Right Man : Because I Love You', and the series 'Make It Right' and 'War of High School', among others.
With extensive experience in addressing topics such as homosexuality, homophobia, love triangles, secret affairs, multiple partners, family conflicts, unrequited love, youth and the school environment, the trio of directors adapt the original novel of "Thai Boys Love Love Sick: The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys", written by Latika Chumpoo, the Thai screenwriter and novelist who publishes her work under the pseudonym Indrytimes, doing a very restrained job of putting teenagers before the cameras.
We are facing a story of coming of age and coming out of the closet. Also, before a love story. I wouldn't say it's an LGBT+ story because their struggle to fall in love is more complex than gender. As in the first season, the series stands out for adapting many Japanese yaoi tropes.
Starring Captain Chonlathorn Kongyingyong ('Rak Sood Jai Yai Tua Saeb, 2023), and White Nawat Phumphotingam, ('Water Boyy The Series, 2017), as Noh and Punn, the script of the series is written by Kwang Latika Chumpoo (' Cause You're My Boy', 2018), the same Thai screenwriter and novelist author of the novel on which the series is based, Fern Tanyatorn Butyee ('ReminderS', 2019), and Saipirun Chaichiangpin ('May-December Romance, 2021).
The beautiful cinematography of Panit Jirawattananunt (Midnight Motel', 2023), the correct editing of New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul and the music of Boy Sompob Pokepoon ('2 Worlds', 2024), capture the viewer and immerse them in this exciting series.
It's adorable how Siam and related areas are shown. The daytime scenes and especially the nighttime ones are beautiful.
THE HISTORY
The second season of Love Sick the Series begins with Noh and Punn deciding to be just friends. The two focus on preparing for Friday College's main football event while maintaining their platonic relationship. When the game ends, Noh, Punn and their friends celebrate their victory at a restaurant where Noh meets Golf, a former student of Friday College.
Golf tells Noh about a disturbing indiscretion involving Aim, Punn's girlfriend. Golf asks Noh to tell his friend Punn about Aim's indiscretion, as it was the right thing to do as Punn's friend. Noh struggles with this information and drinks too much and ends up at Punn's house, further confirming her relationship with Punn to her sister Pang and her friends.
Later, Aim and Yuri invite Punn and Noh on a couple's vacation to Hua Hin to spend time together. During a quiet moment in Hua Hin, Noh is faced with evidence of Aim's indiscretion, confirming Golf's claims. Noh then begins to worry about how he will tell Punn the truth about his girlfriend without hurting him.
When Noh's friends throw an impromptu party at Noh's house, Punn shows up and accidentally stumbles upon Golf's evidence that shows Aim's secret. Punn runs off, struggling to deal with Aim's betrayal, and Noh rushes to Punn's side, promising to support him through the next difficult times. Punn and Aim's relationship comes to an end shortly after.
Punn and Noh maintain their relationship as friends for a while, until Noh's band performs at an open house event at the girls convent school. When most of the girls work to win Noh's heart, Punn decides to confess him feelings and asks Noh to be him boyfriend. They keep their relationship a secret, as Noh is not ready to let everyone know the nature of their relationship. Their secret relationship leads them to multiple misunderstandings with their friends and Noh's girlfriend, Yuri.
To put an end to the fighting and pain, Noh confesses his feelings to Punn and decides to end his ambiguous relationship with Yuri. The day after Noh talks to Yuri, she witnesses an intimate scene between Punn and Noh that confirms Noh's feelings for Punn. Unable to accept the truth, Yuri distances himself from Noh, which causes him great pain.
Noh and Punn then navigate their experiences of coming out as gay to their friends, facing prejudice and, in Jeed's case, possible ostracism. The series comes to an end as Noh and Punn finally find balance and acceptance of each other's experiences and feelings. They promise to stay together as long as possible.
Luangsodsai Anupart, Chindavanich Primrose, Charnmanoon Pannin and Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong are part of the cast and bring drama, humor and intensity to the series.

Epic and cannot be obsolete ever
If you are in bl- this is a must watch and still relevant.It is a shame I watched it only in 2024. Nevertheless, it is still one of the best bls I have watched.
OST: I listen to osts almost daily and all of them are awesome, each time experience the same emotions and warmth as during watching the series.
Acting: probably not professionals, it was a cast of newbies. They managed to deliver natural youth awkwardness in the best way - sweet and naive, at the same time with personality growth and decision making abilities and no toxicity.
I will definitely rewatch that for music, for the story - altogether 48 episodes, and I would be happy to have 2-3 times more!
I never skip scenes, the first s with 12 ep was strange, I was not even able to understand who is the main couple at first. Second season - 36 ep, side stories were drastically reduced, and still - the story was rushed at the end. That is in itself fenomenal - bl drama, long enough, and I still was craving for more!
What caught me? Sincerity, real life situations and conflicts and their reconciliation. There is not over performance or exaggeration.
To conclude, after 100+ bls, this is the inly one, when I can say I would love to forget everything and watch again!

I really enjoyed the first season. It was one of the first BL dramas that I watched and that made me overlook a lot of things that I could not for the second season after watching some truly outstanding dramas. This is a good show. I enjoyed the first season better. The production imo did not get any better as compared to the first season and that was disappointing considering the huge fan base. Both the main actors have improved, especially Captain (I like him even more outside of this role, he's a hottie when he's not a skinhead) which helps to improve a plot that I felt was meh at best. Everything about the second season to me just seemed ok, nothing was glaringly terrible and nothing was amazing.Look I, along with everyone else, have always been rooting for Phun/Noh, but it seemed really hypocritical of Phun to be upset with Aim after he has essentially been cheating on her for a year. I am in no way excusing Aim's behavior. I hated this storyline. I wish that Phun and Noh had been honest with their respective gfs and just avoided the entire thing. I was so frustrated! Every BL drama doesn't have to have loads of fan service, but it's annoying and honestly feels like a slap in the face that Captain and White don't actually kiss. I've seen some believable faked kisses in other lackhorns and I would have much preferred a cheekier allusion than the CLEARLY not kissing "kissing" scenes. The first season was glaringly better in this aspect.
I liked Om/Mick, but their storyline felt so clunky and underdeveloped. The rest of the secondary storylines are forgettable. Do watch this if your were a fan of the first season, but I advise curbing your expectations. I honestly have mixed feelings about season 3. My expectations have been slightly raised after watching ReminderS, but I'm still going in with them lowered.

Really enjoyed the humor in this one especially the Brokeback Mountain cutaway and when Noh gets teased by his club mates about Phun, Ohm tells Noh to not get pregnant, and Noh goes 'of course not, I always remember my cycle' I was snorting! XD
So, that I think was the highlight of the series. It's light and warm and you get involved in the characters lives and their struggles and failures make you grow as they make the characters grow. I just feel like there was no need to stretch it out for 36 full length episodes because then there was a lot of repetitive content and ok let's face it this is something made for guilty pleasure so definitely relies on clichés and tropes but that in itself isn't a bad thing.
The way they did it was pretty good. And I honestly started shipping Win and Per so much! Win did a great job portraying the sadness it broke my heart. And also shipped Ohm and Mic too. And I'm glad Earn came to his senses lol that bathroom scene was adorable.
What I liked about this series is there's no completely hateful female characters or making them unrelatable villains and I like that the constantly tell you to love a person and not their gender. Anyway, Captain is very much my fave! Out of the 9x9 him and Thanapob! I think they're both solid actors and have amazing potential. I hope to see more of these characters and actors! Hopefully the upcoming season will be on the level of 2 Moons 2 and Love By Chance and Reminders.

which is the original version Love Sick S2
Well, it's October of 2021 and I am certainly years behind watching the series; just maybe someone out there will see this. I am watching this series on YouTube and am already quite confused? There are more than one versions, so which is correct? I stated with the one called "cut".......not so sure what that means?. it will run several episodes at a time....like 19 thru 32 and the filming is clear and bold and it reads release 2017?.....then i stumbled on the MCOT production....watched a few episodes and realized there were scenes that were not in the other series.....but the quality of the video is grainy and dated released 2020?.....so what company actually made this series?........sure could use some help........thank you, Richard, American Virgin IslandsWas this review helpful to you?
And then all hell broke loose: with too much concentration around Noh and Phun, which dragged on forever. All of it at the cost of what could have been very fulfilling sidelines... mainly, Pang and Pop, Ohm and Mick, and Win, Per and Mark. These were left hanging never reaching an end.
You will enjoy the first half of the drama very much. After that, it drags on and leaving all sorts of loose ends reaching the most unsatisfactory final episode I have ever seen.
Acting is good. Music is better and rewatch value is an absolutely negative -1. XD.

Toujours plus de sickness
ADDENDUM : J'ai appris par la suite de cette critique que cette série était LE premier BL Thaïlandais, sans lui, aucun autre n'aurait vu le jour. Ce qui explique beaucoup de choses que j'ai trouvées contraignantes et ma critique me paraît, du coup, trop dure.Comme promis dans la critique de la saison 1, je fait la critique de la saison 2.
J'ai eu tout d'abord très peur de ne pas réussir à finir la saison 2 quand j'ai vu le nombre d'épisodes, j'ai cru mourir au vu de l'ennui que m'a procuré la première saison.
On voit tout de suite que l'équipe de réalisation, se disant qu'ils avaient 36 épisodes, se sont dit qu'il serait bien de rajouter plein de personnages à ceux présentés dans la première saison. On aborde du coup l'histoire de plein de couples secondaires, tellement que la tête m'en tourne. Malheureusement, on oublie les premiers comme l'histoire entre Mo, Moan et Golf qui se finit sans vraiment se finir car on entend plus parler d'eux si ce n'est qu'en « sous-texte », ils sont là pour appuyer les actions des leads sinon ils sont absents.
Le rythme est lent à mourir, j'ai passé presque l'entièreté de la saison en vitesse rapide, ce qui m'a au moins permis d'apprendre à lire les sous-titres plus vite qu'avant. Et les flashbacks sont si présents que si on les enlevait, la série conterait moins de 15 épisodes. Ils réussissent à faire des flashbacks du début de l'épisode a la moitié de celui-ci, c'est ahurissant !
Dans le couple NohPhun, l'acteur qui joue Phun a vraiment de quoi être remercié car il porte le jeu d'acteur a bout de bras, littéralement ! Son jeu, ses émotions sont toujours justes tandis que Captain, qui interprète Noh, continue son jeu de mimiques et réactions de rejet tout au long de la saison. Il dit qu'il est lent dans ses sentiments mais là c'est plus possible... Je trouve que son jeu d'acteur est bien gâché car il est très bon dans Great Men Academy.
Bon ma note ne sera pas aussi désastreuse que pour la première saison car j'ai tout de même apprécié certaines choses comme certains thèmes sur l'acceptation de l'homosexualité au sein du cadre familial mais aussi la camaraderie qui lie les membres du club de musique. J'ai aussi aimé les parties où on les voit jouer ou chanter, chose que j'ai oublié de préciser concernant la première partie aussi. Malheureusement ça ne rattrape pas tout et l'ensemble reste bien fade par rapport à d'autres productions que j'ai déjà pu voir.
