Well, todays is 21st of october and i finally managed to end watching this show. You can ask why so long? that because the only value (for me of course) was some soundtracks. When i heard for the first time about this drama i was way too excitied, but with every new episods i lose my interest more more. I dropped it many times and forced myself to see it again just out of curiosity like will this show survived, will there be some changes or at least what end will it has? Still i don't know is it lead actors just weak or supporting roles too strong. Story line didn't hide anything special or surprising, playing wasn't great, every time i had the feeling that i'm watching some homework for teenagers only. The chemistry between lead actors is apsent like someone forgot about it, sometimes there was also this feeling that actors were very shy but still forced to play it. Well, to sum it up, just nice drama and if you're bored to death than watch it or at least listen to soundtracks, just don't expect too much.

this drama is the best

i love that yoon hwa and park shin hye are there

love the choice of music

Lee Shin, (Jung Yong Hwa) is a university student majoring in Western Music. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of a band "The Stupid." Shin is known for his good looks, cocky personality, and strong passion for music. Everyone sees him as a cold-hearted and distant person, but he has a soft side inside him hidden away. He lacks interest in anything unrelated to music and has neither dreams nor plans for the future. He initially likes Jung Yoon Soo, a dance professor at the university, but this all changes when he meets Lee Gyu Won (Park Shin Hye).
Lee Gyu Won is a jolly, bright, and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in Traditional Korean Music. She plays the gayageum. Gyu Won's grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather's expectations, Gyu Won immerses herself in practice and becomes a university student who knows nothing much outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of "The Stupid", she was forced to go to the band's concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him.
Yeo Joon Hee (Kang Min Hyuk) is a bumbling, shy, and ever hungry boy who doesn't act his age. He has a complete childlike personality, shaggy idiot by day, Stupid's lead drummer by night. During one of his shaggy phases during the day, he comes across University Princess and chairman's daughter, Han Hee Joo (Woori), who he immediately falls head over heels for, calling her his "Natasha." However, there are dark sides to Hee Joo's personality than his naïvety knows, and in the series, he fights between his ever-growing feelings for Hee Joo and helping his friends as she threatens their university lives.
The time when Lee Gyu Won decided to join the performance for the festival, every one sees her potential talent and this triggers Han Hee Joo's mother who plans together with Tae Joon, one of the school's administrators, to destroy Lee Gyu Won's and the Director's image for her to quit the upcoming festival in her fear that Lee Gyu Won might outshine her daughter Han Hee Joo.

the acting was really bad!! i was fan of PSH acting but in this, she really disappointed me ... i was against JYH´s casting from the start and i think i was right! he does not have the acting skill to begin with!

the other couple did great i think...

i really hated KMH character! this was not its right place!

the story is just disappointing! no story at all! no suspense at all! no everything!

the only thing i like about this drama was its Ost!! extraordinary ^^

I really liked this drama personally. To fix my SLS I acquired from drama You're Beautiful, I needed to see this. So I watched the first episode to see whether it was worth it. I soon followed up with the other episodes as I really liked the characters and the story flowed seamlessly. I loved the music, and I loved Yong Hwa and Shin Hye together.

The episodes flowed like a breeze. I did not find any major hassle for our characters. Ok maybe the coach was a little too biased. It felt like High School Musical of Korea. It felt cute and giddy, like a summer romance. . The drummer was the most adorable I have even seen. He was literally so cute. Even the narcissistic Princess changed for the better.

For me the show ended in Episode-13. The last two episodes were such angst ridden episodes that it destroyed the continuity and the breezy feeling of the show.

I loved the music in this one. I feel like jumping out and dancing while listening to the title track. All of them performed really well. I feel most of the trouble makers got redemption arcs. Basically I loved this and would recommend this as nice and breezy, a summer rom-com.

Seriously, I've just seen a lot of people saying that this drama was boring. Actually, as for me, it wasn't.

Well the story was not that much deep, but it was actually why I liked it. Because it was totally refreshing. It was pleasant. No story of revenge, not that much conspiracy... Actually, it felt light, and I liked it because it didn't was heavy and annoying.

Well, as for the casting. Jung Yonghwa and Park Shin Hye assured it. It wasn't perfect, but it went well. I think it was even rather good. And Kang Minhyuk did a very good job, and you can't hate his character. The cast was good, according to me.

The music was pleasant too, and really present in all the drama. That was nice, even though I'm not a really great fan of Park Shin Hye's voice.

I think that this drama was really refreshing and nice.

Watch to come out of your watching slump.

I don't know whether I hate or love this one. The story was bit draggy at times, and I skipped some episodes in the middle, but I don't feel this drama is as bad as people claim it to be. Although the story was messy, yet it was great to watch the budding campus romance. The actors had a great chemistry, and played their parts well.
The music was the winning point. Literally it had some of the best tracks, and the osts stand out to be the best of the kdrama world.

Binge watch it on the weekend, when you don't have anything to do or watch, but don't keep great expectations.

With a few exceptions all the older dramas I've watched sucked. This one is pretty good for its age. Park Shinhye + Jung Yonghwa combo worked out quite great, which came as a surprise, since I did not like Yonghwa before, but as it turns out he is a much more talented singer than I thought & his acting was okay too.
The story with the big play & the villains doing things to make things harder just isn't good, the writers did not try real hard to make it interesting and relatable, luckily in this genre this isn't a major issue. There is a love square, but it's very weak, the second leads don't cause many issues, this is very applaudable for a 2011 drama really. The secondary characters could have been more interesting, but there were a few rather funny ones, so it's okay.
I liked the music, my only gripe is that it was quite repetitive at times.

I wanted to watch a lighthearted romcom, this mostly delivered, if not for the 40 minutes of forced separation makjang in the last episode, I would have probably rated it a 9.

This was one of the first drama that pulled me into the Kdrama world. And where I became a fan of Park Shin Hye. I personally loved this drama because of the main leads chemistry where I even wished at first that they`d actually date in real life. lmao. (They`re friends in real life tho.) I also loved the story from beginning to end. It`s cute, heartwarming and there are a bit of lessons that you could learn. But what pulled me in is the music especially where they mixed the traditional and modern music. Urgh. It was really cool trust me.

Okay, first, I watched this drama because it seemed intresting. AND I'm a huge fan of You're beautiful, Park Shin Hye, and CNBLUE (Yonghwa, oh my god, I love him, and the other members too ofcourse). But first I though, "I Can't be expecting tooooo much, just because i loved You're Beautiful. But really, i really really loved this drama. Just as much as i loved You're beautiful. Okay, at first i though i would give 10 to everything. But first: at the Acting/cast i gav 8 BECAUSE... Yonghwa. I really do love and adore him, and Y.E.S, his acting skill was muuuuch more better in Heartstrings than in You're beautiful, but of course not good enough. Still, I think his talented ;) And Park Shin hye? She is super amazing, ofcourse i would give ten to her ! And yeah, REWATCH VALUE: I gave 9.

Because... i'm not a person who likes to rewatch. At least... it have to be 1 year after the first time i've watched it! :) But Heartstrings really was great. I just wished the kiss would be more... you know, and less awkward :) <3

This was the first k-drama that I watched and because of it I got interested in watching more of other dramas, The actors and actress were great and talented, I like the pairings too, I saw some of reviews on Yonghwa? That his acting wasn't that good I think Its just because of his character, since he doesn't care about anything but his crush and music.

Park shin hye is adorable

This a drama that is hard to forget. I love the combination of tradional music and rock music. If you are intrested in korean music I recomend this drama highly. It's a happy pill, the actors are doing an really great job especially the CN Blue guys. Minhyuk's role is just adorable. The music will wrap up your heart and the story is playful and really fun, I enjoyed watching this drama and I'm still today listening to the OST.

Okayyy so two reviews below me wasn't for me satisfying so i will write my own opinion now!^_^

Story---I think that this drama shouldn't be watched by someone who is not into music or any mushy weird romance like me.For me it was perfect! It show the real struggles of people. There was lot of dramas but also sweet and romantic moments that made me melt that's why this drama should get highst rank for me since it made me very satisfied! The story was...hhmmm how to say...romance between two people who are still finding their place in their life. The character's development was amazing. From cold main became a main man that showed me how much he love his girl and that he would do anything for her!

Acting----I love Jung Yong Hwa's acting and also Park Shin Hye!They look seriously very cute and many people won't agree but in You're beautiful i wished she would end with Yong Hwa....So i ship this dooley couple very much!Their chemistry was amazing and yes Shin as character was cold but that's how he is!I am also cold like him and all my emotions are inside but it doesn't mean that i can't love someone so i give him big thumbs up!I want him to get more roles like this!

Music---As i am student of art school in singing i have big passion for music!^_^ I love classic and traditional korean music and this was like heaven for me!The harmony the drama music gave me is amazing! Also the rock music was good too and Yong Hwa did very good job in remaking some of old korean rock songs! The musical music was also good but for me the best song was from Yong Hwa himself.

Rewatch value---10 out of 10!<3 I rewatched it sooo many times and it seem like i can't stop.Whenever i'm in music mood i watch it and sing along, laugh along and cry along with the characters...Every character found their happy ending and that was the best part of all in the drama!
