Gladly, I wasn't disappointed. It was a good movie, one of the best korean movies I've seen so far.
The story keeps you interested til the very end, it's very well-written and well-developed. I usually predict the plot-twists easily but the plot twist in 'A day' surprised me. I seriously didn't expect that.
There's no much to say about the characters since the storyline was more important here, so we couldn't see much of the main leads. But it's understandable, since it's a thriller.
Why am I giving it just an 8 insted of 10? Well, because some parts were kind of boring.
The cast was awesome, I loved it.
I recommend this movie to everyone. It's worth your time and you won't regret watching it.

I'd say this was a perfect time loop story, it was only one and a half hours and so much happened! usually it takes movies one hour to get to the point and then they spend the rest of the time "wrapping things up".
but here as soon as Joon Yeong leaves the airport things start to move along. and what's more thrilling than a father repeating the death of his daughter every day while he can't change it? a more desperate guy shows up and claims to be stuck it the same time loop.
as a time loop enthusiast, I usually only see 1 character stuck in time so the story is only about them, but this really kept me on my toes with how the story progressed. and even though they were technically repeating the same hour every time, the scene development differently and well.
also, since it is a time loop I think it's the only acceptable time to be twisty without trying too hard just to be "unique".
since it is my 2nd watch I'd say it's worth a rewatch, it's actually more intriguing when you know what will happen. also the acting was amazing from everyone.

What a difference a day makes
A Day takes the tired trope of the repeated day and gives it a karmic twist. Part taut thriller, part redemption story bordering on melodrama more than once, it managed to make all the parts work together to pull off a satisfying story.Kim Joon Yeong is a famous surgeon who travels the world and is on magazine covers and hounded for autographs. At home, his daughter is less than enthralled with his career because he misses important days and times with her like her birthday. Lee Min Chul is an EMT who argues with his wife when she asks about having a baby. Both men are tied up in their own lives and careers and can't see the negative impact they are making on the females in their lives. When both the daughter and the wife are killed over and over and over regardless of how cleverly the men act, they find that there is someone else caught up in their endless day of agony, someone they have also impacted negatively.
Karma comes calling as they find themselves in hell. Because the victims are innocent it's impossible to not root for the men to break the curse and find a way out for their loved ones. Despite their herculean and sometimes murderous efforts the day seems to never end. Kim Joon Yeong finally realizes his part in the bloody drama and what needs to be done to stop the deaths and who actually needs to be saved.
As well made as the film was, the thriller dragged during some of the unremitting days and the bloody streets began to feel repetitious losing some of their emotional intensity. The overwrought score had a tendency to overwhelm the scenes instead of enhancing them. As well as all the actors portrayed their parts, there are only so many tears that remain effective scene after scene. There were one too many scenes played for overly dramatic effect for my tastes. Finally, Kim needs to spend more time with his daughter and tell her about stranger danger and to pay attention to traffic and not ignore her father's desperate requests.
Yet for the drawbacks, I did find much of the story and acting compelling. Redemption tales are catnip to me. There's a reason the film is also named Haru. For though something was taken, something was also given. Where life was lost, life was also created. A Day managed to weave together a story of revenge, grief, rage, and forgiveness culminating into a beautiful ending.

This Shall be a Part of The Modern Fable Stories
I genuinely appreciate everything given to this storyline. It's a hell-time looping concept that I don't need to retouch or improve, because it's remarkable and perfect as it is. Every single backstory has its own reasons and resolves in better terms. It's a truly underrated gem indeed that I should recommend to everyone. Besides profanity (of course, if it's not to cuss out), I wish this would be adapted to storybooks for children/teenagers to read.I'm not good for reviewing masterpiece, so I leave all interpretations to you guys; to watch

Resenha A Day
