WARNING-may contain slight spoilersa marvellous mini series (if that's the correct term)which enthralls right from the start and never lets go. In it's 36 or so hours, it seldom puts a foot wrong. The performances from some of the actors including female are hard to gauge in particular the two leading men, and the leading actressess ie Oh Yoon Ah as hye ap, who i nominate as the sexiest female character I've seen in a long time, and we never even get to see her legs. Then there is Choi Jung Won as Princess Yeon, who is full of grace and serenity. But I have no doubt that the best performance comes from Jung Jin Young as king yuri. plaudits also to among others Kim Hye Ri as as Lady Mi Yoo (Yeo Jin's mother), and Han Jin Hee as King Daeso. yes, there are faults. There is plenty of fighting, but very little blood. At one stage, i thought a character who was being executed had survived. it looked like the excutioners blade had missed him. but no, he had been killed. when one of the main characters is killed in a rather inhumane way, and his friend has the oppurtunity to treat the instigator in like manner, he doesn't. perhaps it's to do with korean tv restrictions. the two leading male and female characters are not without fault. At one stage, she poisons someone, and he has a tendency at times to kill people who are no threat to him. perhaps it was just one person, i can't temember. i see those as positive aspects of the series. When one of the lead characters dies, my heart broke. and i cried like anthing. That is one of the great strenths of korean movies and tv dramas; the emotion they can get from you, and also how they involve you in the stories. highly recommonded without reservations

For the acting it's really good across the board.
Soundtrack for this show is beautiful and breathtaking. After finishing the drama I just can't get the soundtrack out of my head. Someone has made a Playlist on YouTube for the drama check out and listen the soundtrack for yourself (https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLX2MqrE5k3wm9bhbsWp4OLvY9qj4xnun4). Because the music is so good, the scene incorporate with the music in the drama, you can feel the scene is being elevated and intensified.
I know I mentioned Jumong a lot, I really highly recommend this show to be watched back to back, not a lot of people know about this show, I accidentally found out myself (was searching jumong to rewatch and this title of the show came up in the search) and also both shows main character are played by the same lead actor.

My take on Kingdom of the Winds… life of Jumong's grandson, Moo Hyul
Compared to the greatness that is Jumong… I would say this series is somewhat lacking. It's by no means as epic as Jumong. However, I genuinely enjoyed it, so much so, that I have seen it more than four times already (lol) Blame it on quarantine and a whole lot of free time.
I don’t know why I keep coming back to Kingdom of the Winds. Maybe because Song Gook played the lead (I think he’s so amazing in his Historical roles) Perhaps it’s purely the romance between Mu Hyul and Princess Yeon, who had such tender gaze and weak appearance. Oh gosh! I have such affection for these feeble female characters that our main leads always fall in love with. I mean, I also loved Lady Ye So Ya.
Anyways… Kingdom of the Winds is more deeply romance base compared to Jumong. Song Gook also express himself more... an issue I had whenever I watch Jumong. I hated that he didn’t talk enough.
I know I keep comparing but I can’t help it since the stories are connected! Hahahaha
I don’t know about anyone else, but I found the music in this series incredible! I am NEVER tired of listening to it. And I listen to it a lot! Emphasis on “A LOT”. If you ever get the chance—check it out on YouTube.
I gave the acting a full 10 because Song Gook NEVER NOT deliver in these roles.
~~*~~
>> Do Jin is like every other pitiful second lead who find themselves in love with Fl, but instead of confessing—they stay quiet until ML comes along and steal Fl. Smh! Then they throw tantrum and reek jealousy.
>> Ma Ro is that loyal bestfriend everybody such have in their life.
>> Physically and mentally strong. Steady eyes. Firm character. Fight like a monster. The young man who played Jumong's son in Jumong, grew on me. So much so, that I wished he could have played Yuri in this series because honestly, I do not find the man who played Yuri compatible for the role.
>> I enjoy Ma Hwang character. He does play a lot of support role but he never not shine them.

You're better off finding something better elsewhere...
Another one from the Goguryeo cinematic universe under-delivering its climax and ending. How could they be so incapable of producing anything but a lukewarm finale! Anyway, the drama itself was plagued by an unnecessary garbage love triangle overshadowing the story. Also, it had this habit of forcing everyone to be paired up with someone. This drama is the weakest and the worst out of the Goguryeo cinematic universe. Was this review helpful to you?
Очень необычно, что внука Чумона сыграл тот же актер, что и Чумона в 1 сериале. Это очень интересно повлияло на восприятие материала. То ли я попривыкла к Иль Гуку, но тут он помужественней выглядит.
