Such a waste of too many episodes

The only reason I watched this drama was my curiosity on the main leads. Yu Zheng and Xiao Su. At first the story was okay for me but there were times that they could have just avoided misunderstanding really. It was frustrating. No ROMANCE at all.
I particularly disliked their Love - Hate-Love tropes. They were actually not meant for each other. No chemistry but the script writers made them so distant instead of building a story of closeness and loving relationship. What a waste. I did not have any fluttering swoon worthy moments to enjoy with their scenes. I was hoping to see some ROMANTIC kissing scenes from them.
So I gave this drama a 1.5 rewatch value.
Now the other supporting characters were so annoying, very draggy and stupid dumb most of the time, IMO. I blame the story line to be poor on this.

Great start but turned to meh

If you ask me whether this drama is worth the watch, I'll say yes but stop at Ep 6 because the love between Xioasu and Zhenrong was the only thing that's really good in this drama. The chance encounter, the crushing on stage, the bittersweet parting was executed perfectly. You can maybe extend it up to Ep 10, to have a sense of letting go and expectation of a new love. To go on further will just be torture in boredom because there were only two or three touching scenes when they try to remember Zhenrong.

The synopsis was misleading. There was no one night stand shown in the drama, just a drunken girl who was so wasted that that Yuzheng judged her as 'not a good girl'. If there was in the novel then the ML is a real jerk for taking advantage of a drunk girl. Yuzheng did not forbid the couple's relationship but only warned Zhenrong about the possibility that Xiaosu may not be as good as she seemed. Yuzheng also did not love her from the start but only after Zhenrong's death. The premise of 'Will Xiaosu ever forget Zhenrong and accept Yuzheng's love?' which drew me in to watch this was so misleading. If only they stuck with that, this could have been a very different drama, probably a better one. Xiaosu was never that conflicted, she never closed herself off to love. During the brink of their new love, it was Yuzheng who backed off because of his business issues. The right question is 'Are Yuzheng's feelings strong enough to change his prejudice against love?'

The way the characters navigate their relationship are reactive, repetitive, and inconsistent. The reasons for breakups were weak and sometimes incomprehensible. I was particularly annoyed with the one CP, the money focused Siqi and the wishy washy Qin Fei, the FL's best friend and the ML's assistant. Then most of the episodes focused on the business problems of the ML.

It's really too bad because they've managed to setup this great love that will be hard to replace but forgot that is was supposed to be the main backbone of the drama. So my advice is save yourself the time and only watch the first 6 episodes.

generally, it's a good watch

basically, I like melodramas that make me cry, and so far it has done its job of making me cry. But same with the other reviews, one of the disappointing things is why they had to kill of Zhang Yun Long/Zhen Rong (one of my celebrity crushes, btw), who's supposed to be one of the main casts but had died at I think it was ep.7 (I literally bawled at his death, omg). I know that has been the plot of the drama ever since, but just feels surreal that it happened too fast.
Then, I really couldn't point out when exactly YuZheng fell in love, maybe it was at the bar when she cried and threw up in his car, but it just happened suddenly again. And also, I expected them to be a little apologetic towards Zhen Rong that they fell for each other, since it's kinda against "Bro Code" even if he's dead. But no mention of Zhen Rong after they had gotten together... which I felt weird about. I know it's not bad to fall in love, but I was just looking for that hesitation to be more emotional, hehe. Also felt weird that Zhen Rong was kinda easily replaced by Shang Guan as his best friend.
At the start, I was hoping she won't fall hard for Shawn, but with his efforts, I also fell for Shawn's character. It made me think deeply, who was the better boyfriend between Zhen Rong and YuZheng. Zhen Rong really made me flutter during the less than 10 episodes he was on.
Story was all good until they had issues with their "busy schedules", which I didn't buy. To think that they've crossed all odds together, then they won't have time for each other with his business revenge plot and her fear/insecurity of being in a higher social class, it was just too unjustified issue to cause misunderstandings. But they overcame it, so I'm fine with that.
But one thing I really liked about this story is that I don't recall any character of being a total bad person. If correct, all antagonists in the story all were given chances to lead better lives, so I felt good about that.

The only thing that I didn't like in this drama is that kept putting Du Xiao Su through a lot of hurt feelings throughout the drama. OMG, that got my nerves all tied up. The rest of the storyline was very good. I love the actors Shawn Dou and Shao Zen Rong and actress Li Qin. I looked to see who was the main actors, of course, Shao Zen Rong was one of them... I couldn't understand that he was the main actor but left quickly. Oh well, not my story! I loved the visuals of the places they visited. The cars were nice! Loved them jeans! The children were so cute! I will re-watch but I have so many to re-watch... lol This is a great love story for sure. That one kiss that Li Ting Zhe did at the 2nd wedding honestly "failed".

The One Night Stand

Until I read the chapter summaries from the book I came to realize the premise of the entire series. If the script writers would have started with the scene of the FL laying in the street with rain pouring down and how the ML picks her up and brings her to a hotel to sober her up but gets seduced by her. Their passionate one night stand only to have her disappear the next morning............. the rest of the series would've have a clearer understanding why the events that later happened.......... happened.

The ansgst and drama that formed between them would have been clearly understood years later when they meet again and they have to deal with each other and how they learn to intermingle into each others lives.

It should be noted that the Series changed the books outcome, the book had the Love / Hate become more Hate in the end where as in the series the Hate /Love became Love.

As is the case with most of these melodramas the ending is with them kissing and looking to the heavens, however it should have been taken further especially after everything they had gone through to get there.

Storyline not smooth in later part of the series

What started out as a beautiful love story seemed to have fallen into the hands of an unprofessional editor that censored or rather chopped the story in the 2nd half of drama especially near the ending.
This fact was confirmed when I checked the history of this show. What started out as a 45 episode drama was reduced and censored to 41. That's a lot of airtime deleted 4x40mins = 160 mins deleted.
No wonder there were many gaps in the storyline and it didn't flow as smoothly as the beginning episodes. What actually happened?

The ending shown in WeTV seems to be different from the short clips that were posted in YouTube. Is there a different version of this drama?

Plot holes abound

The acting of the two main leads was the only reason I watched all episodes. The show begins great and I had high hopes but it quickly became a struggle to watch. The plot appeared good but just meandered off in silly directions with no real sense. The supporting female lead and best friend of the main role annoyed me and was just a horrible person. I really did not like how the characters dis horrible acts but it was just ignored by the main cast. Overall I do not recommend as you will be sadly disappointed.

Worth to watch.

The drama literally drained my tears. Every episode make me so emotional. I love collaboration of ML and FL. The acting is amazing. I love to see the subtle changes of ML and FL faces. Sometimes, cute and lovely. Sometimes, pain. The ML carried his emotion well throughout his stone face. You can almost feel his pain.

But the ending is abit rushed. On the few last episode, FL annoyed me abit. I no longer understand why they kept fighting. It felt silly and unnecessary.

Anyway, i love it (minus the last episode) and would rewatch it again. But maybe not the few last episode

Love it !

I am actually not a fan of drama movie especially with long episodes but I enjoy this movie very much from start to end. Each actors played their role very well. The drawbacks might be the make up, hairstyle , costumes of Xiaosu in some parts of her role which made her looks very different, she looks pale and older, not that attractive. Eg. the scene in the bar when Yuzhen was drunk. May be the make up artist was not there when this part of show was taken. Other than this, this movie is worth to watch , I would recommend it and I might watch it again.

Beginning was good but later terrible

Usually with romance movies that gets better towards the end, but this is not the case here. This movie was really strange because the female lead was with shao zhen ring, the doctor was a better couple than the one she ended up with. Episode 20-30 was good and the main female lead was doing ok with lei yu zheng. Then episode 30-40 the main characters weren't even talking to one another. He had a mission of trying to find out who put him in jail. The story gets super messy but there was zero romance going on for the majority of the half of the movie. There seems to be zero chemistry between the main leads at the end. This is a very disappointing story in general. And it's way too long and dragged out from episode 30 to 40. I will skip all those episodes and just see episode 41. Even then it's very disappointing!!

Emotional Damage

Whew, what an emotional roller coaster. Tears in Heaven gave me everything and then ripped me apart, and then continued to put me through it. Gah this drama was so emotional. The actors and actress did such an amazing job with their parts. I was really swept away with this one. Everything Xiao Su went thought I felt. She really pulled me in. I absolutely loved it. It was recommended to me as a "Hurt you so good" drama. I definitely recommend it and I will be rewatching. I also found a new favorite actor to obsess over. My List forever grows.

Melodrama and Plotholes

Where to begin?
To call this Drama "dramatic" is an understatement.
It starts of quite light and fluffy, but also fast. They seem to rush the relationship between the FL and the second ML quite a bit and then turn it into an overly dramatic star-crossed lovers theme (which we are kind of used to by cdramas up until a few years ago)--- only to completely disregard its existence for more than 2/3 of the drama?! Really??!?!
In my opinion it could have been quite interesting to see everyone (including the main couple) cope with the feelings developing between the FL and her lovers childhood friend.- but we get NOTHING. Somehow the writers forgot about every plot entanglement developed in the first 10-12 episodes and NEVER TOUCH ON THEM AGAIN! - Again: REALLY?!?!?
At points I still found myself rooting for the main couple, because the actors actually do have some great chemistry - but the plot-holes made their relationship so inconsistent that I found myself not caring at the end.

Again writers: How can you never touch on your dead best friend when falling in love with his almost fiance? How can you jump over the main leads mysterious first meeting? How is the FL suddenly nonchalant about the relationship between her father and her almost-mother-in-law, when this is the reason for her breaking up with her "great love" and also ultimately the reason for him DYING!! Again - how can you disregard the consequences of DEATH?!?!

Ultimately, I couldn't bring myself to care about any side storyline, as those characters felt bland and as inconsistent as the rest of the drama.
I would only rewatch it for the actors and for the first 10-12 episodes... but then probably would regret it and hate myself, as I can see the nicely set-up storyline take a sharp turn for plot-hole-ville.
