Kiss Me, Kill Me (2009)

I'm not an expert on Korean movies but I'd say that this wasn't bad at all. Obviously, a two-hour movie cannot have the same depth of character development as a 16- or 20-hour drama series but since the main focus was on the main characters, I think you had enough time to get attached to them. I even shed a few tears at the end of the film (or then I'm just too soft... :P)

This movie isn't full of drama but it is not a light one either since it touches upon themes like violence, alcoholism and depression. However, all these themes are illustrated in a warm-hearted manner, not too realistically, and hope is definitely present all the time. This is certainly not too serious a movie, and that is largely because of the more or less twisted and dark humour that spices the story up and makes you laugh.

The overall plot goes onwards at a good pace and has some interesting twists that I was unable to predict, especially at the end. Shin Hyeon-Jun portraits in a very endearing way the professional killer Hyun-Jun who is a serious, warm hearted and troubled man questioning his profession and quietly looking for someone he could talk to. Kang Hye-Jeong's Jin-Young is a bit crazy, not an ordinary woman, but very adorable.

This movie has some very endearing and funny scenes and that is why I liked it so much. The main characters are very likeable as well. If you have two hours to spare, go and watch it, it isn't a waste of your time.

Story: A comical and creative twist of what happens when mafia meets mental! While most ppl would pay for a bodyguard to protect their lives, the heroine in this movie will pay for a professional to do away with her life. Certainly brings the idea of suicide to a whole new level! I watched this movie a while back now... so my memory of it is vague at best but what really stood out is the creative story and comical interaction between the two leads.

Acting/Cast: No complains in this department.

Music: Nothing stood out.

Rewatch value: Since I had watched this a while back, I am currently considering if I should rewatch this for this weekend. However, if you had just finish this movie, you might not think to rewatch it immediately... I certainly did not.

Overall: The movie is a blend of dark humour and romance; somewhat a sarcastic take on professional killers and the idea of committing suicide. Yes, of course you will fall in love with your client if she is the victim you are supposed to do away with as well.....what more, she gives you specific instructions on how to do it! Very helpful! Must be the perfect woman all professional killers are looking for out there..... NOT! LOL
In short, watch it if you have not watch it. Certainly worth your time. :)

This movie kept me interested till the end. No boring stuff here! I liked that the story was unpredictable. The ending wasn\''t spectacular but it could have been a lot worse considering the event that take place right before. My only critique really was with the cast. I mean they acted really well in thier roles but i\''m not that familiar with them as actors. For that reason I cant say i loved the characters. The development of the characters was very good. They started off as pathetic but lonely people. After meeting, they are able to find something within each other to keep them sane. Overall this is one of the best written Korean movies I\''ve seen. I just wish it was casted with actors I would have loved not just liked.

I seem to have an unpopular opinion here, but to me the movie was incredibly boring and slow. I found myself falling asleep, and though there are a few humorous scenes I'll give the movie credit for, the film just didn't catch me.

The acting was fine, I didn't see much of that to worry about. The characters were a little underdeveloped in my opinion... Hyun Jun didn't get much of a back story at all, and the only thing I gathered from his story is that he works for an agency, while his mother thinks he works for the government. I wanted to know how he got into the assassination business, but unfortunately this was left out.
Jin Young gave us a little more, and I see the message the movie is trying to send; some people's reasons to commit suicide seem petty to others, but is so important to the suicidal person that it seems worth taking his or her own life for. I see the message, and it's a good one, but I still think more could have been done.
I saw Hyun Jun falling for Jin Young, but not quite Jin Young falling for Hyun Jun. That just seemed to come out of nowhere, like the director suddenly yelled "Wait, I focused so much on the action scenes that we forgot the romance! Quick, throw it in at the end and maybe the audience won't notice!"

Speaking of action scenes: not very action-y. You got guns, poison, anything you want... and the action scenes fall flat.

The story was good, not great; the characters underdeveloped but funny; and some things seemed thrown in for laughs that didn't really make me laugh. I wouldn't recommend this movie, but I seem to be a minority in these reviews so you do what you want. ;)
