Based on the manga and anime series, the drama is actually faithful to some of the events from the anime. So if you have watched the anime and enjoyed it, you are sure to enjoy the live action drama interpretation as well!
The acting and 'special effects' on the screen were a bit over the top, but as it suited the characters and the anime origins of the show it actually fit the drama well and were enjoyable. The actors played their roles well and were pleasant to watch.
Overall I would recommend this drama to those who have watched the anime, liked other dramas such as Hana Kimi, or just want to watch a fun, slightly exaggerated, drama. Just come into it with an open mind!

But... this drama turned out surprisingly nice! I must say, I WORSHIP DAITO SHUNSUKE. Is there even a better choice for someone else to play the role of Kyoya in this drama?!?!?!?! Daito was so... cool. suave. so dreamy x___x (especially in the bed scene KYAAAA) The twins had the look of devious-ness, while haruhi (played by kawaguchi haruna) was alright (much better than maeda atsuko in hana kimi remake). At least her cross-dressing didn't make me want to kill her and rip off her wig -_-
Whoops have I fangirled too much? I apologise. But isn't the point of Ouran fangirling? Yes it is. WELL ALRIGHT this concludes the review! This live-action didn't make me cringe, it didn't make me yearn for SOME characters (ohhh hunny T_T), and it has succeeded in making me anticipate the movie!! NICHKHUN AS A PRINCE, ANYONE? :>

Since I've watched the anime and read part of the manga, the plot wasn't at all surprising to me. But I did think that they did a nice job of choosing the right things to leave in a take out. While I would love a completely accurate anime-to-drama adaptation, it isn't realistic. They did a really good job of keeping in the most important plot points.
I wasn't familiar with any of the actors in this show so this was my first experience with them. I found that they all fit their roles very well! I especially enjoyed Kyouya! Tamaki was hilarious, of course, and the rest of the cast was great. I loved how Nekozawa got a bigger role as well. His ominous aura and random appearances were hilarious.
The music was kind of quirky. It seemed to be a lot j-rock, but it was catchy and fit the show well. I actually ended up enjoying it.
Overall, I'm really glad I watched this drama adaptation. It helped fill the hole that the nonexistent 2nd anime season left in my heart. I'll definitely be watching the movie soon!

First of all the storyline followed the anime allot which I was unhappy about because of how abrupt the anime ending was and it seemed like the storyline skipped from one extreme to the next (including the anime). I was very satisfied, however, with how closely related the characters were to the Anime/Manga characters and setting wise.
The drama captured all the comedy perfectly and I laughed out loud more then a few times. Usually when a manga/anime is made into a drama they lose sight of what makes the series so special but this series has no problem with that what so ever.
Yamamoto Yusuke was the perfect Tamaki and I enjoyed his acting the most in the whole series. There is really a star cast and thats what makes this drama great. The actors were casted perfectly and all did great justice to the manga/anime characters. However, I feel that the main actress could have done a better Haruhi, her performance was lacking something that I didn't feel from the actual character.
I definitely recommend this drama to all Ouran High fans and non-fans alike.

I thought the cast had great chemistry & were totally believable. I can't compare them to the manga & anime portrayals but I enjoyed them all individually. I fell in love with Yusuke Yamamoto as Tamaki, and didn't find his OTTness to be bad in the least! I loved the balance between his wackiness and his moments of sincerity.
This show renewed my interest in 'girls dressed as boys' dramas by not directly focusing on the fact that Haruhi dressed as a boy the entire series - by that I mean it was central to the set up but not the main plot point. Such a welcomed change.
I can't wait to watch the film!

The casting, though I was skeptical at first, actually really fits with the original characters. Some people may complain about the choice in actors, but keep in mind that it would be hard to match a live actor with an animated character.
All-in-all, this is a great adaptation. It made me fall in love with Ouran all over again!

I kind a like this script As for acting i really dont like chracter of suoh thamaki... i dont know how about his chracter in anime but in drama his way of acting and his look soo idiotic. I think becoz of his hair his look become like that.. i am not telling he is bad actor he is good when he acted siriosly but when that funny parts i feel really fedup. It is really too much.. If his acting become bit sirious i will be given 10 out of 10 to this drama.. others characters r cool i love all other members in host club.. haninozuka mitzukuni is really cute.. i fell for ootori kyoko at first but only when nekozawa umehito apear.. he come to scene before kyoko but i did not notice him after i notice him i fell for him ? actually he is really cute too
Overall if u want u can try it.. it is not really best but i can say i did not get bored so u can try it too..

I just have to pretend that I didn't see the male casts except Kyouya and Morinozuka (^_^;) I just focus on the story. So sorry, but I think the other casts not too fitted with the role. Sometimes it's too much. Well, I know this dorama adapted from manga, but the act still didn't seems right. But maybe that's just because of my taste. The twins act are quite entertaining even those make me feel a goosebumps (^o^;) My most favorite cosplay is when they wear a police uniform. Kyoya is so handsome (♡°▽°♡)

I was a little wary about watching it at first, because I had read that the characters were overacted, something I can't stand. However, I disagree. I think the acting was quite appropriate for the drama; the characters are supposed to be a bit exaggerated.
I easily connected the characters from the manga/anime to the drama. Which brings me to casting. I had a problem with Tamaki. The acting was spot-on, and I loved Yamamoto Yusuke in Hana Kimi - his character was one of my favorites. However, I couldn't get past his face, which didn't match up with my vision of how Tamaki should look. I also originally had a problem with Honey-senpai, but I grew to like his character a lot. Daito Shunsuke was perfect as Kyouya, who was my favorite character in the drama. Mori and the twins were great too. The drama is very short, and each episode is always something fresh and somewhat independent. It's hilarious and adorable.
I would highly recommend this, especially to anyone who has read the manga or watched the anime.

CAST: The cast fit their roles so well, it was incredible. Yamamoto Yusuke did an amazing job as Tamaki, I was so surprised by just how extra he could be. Daito Shunsuke caught me off guard as Kyoya as well, pulling off the cool and collected character perfectly, but leaving just enough to make you swoon. And the twins were perfect, devilish but adorable. I was happy with how their characters seemed more complex, not happy go lucky blank slates. I found the main cast gave a lot to their roles, to show growth and keep the interest of the viewer. Everyone worked very well together. Kawaguchi Haruna was wonderful of course.
MUSIC: The music and sound effects for this show were very good, however, "friday ma magic" did get slightly old as the theme song. While I absolutely love the song, I wish there had been maybe one more but there is a charm to a limited soundtrack at the same time.
REWATCH VALUE: This show has a very high rewatch value for me simply because it is hilarious, also every episode has a different story, and the cast is so good. Even is you do not think it will be as good as the anime I highly suggest trying at least one or two episodes. Especially since it does not have 20 or more episodes. There are only 11 (plus a movie but it's not NECESSARY to watch that.)

Not sure why I decided to give the show a shot before anything else but I'm kinda glad I did because it makes me want to see the anime.
I really liked the storyline and was really sad to see it come to a end so quickly.
I really loved all of the characters and the bond they all ended up having. It's crazy how much how much they managed to squeeze into just 11 episodes that keeps you completely hooked from start to finish.

Quite Charming
This show is so utterly absurd and sweet, one can't help but love it. I LOL every episode. Tamaki's over the top expressions and Nekozawa's popping up all over the place was so funny! This show is so binge-worthy and watchable in one setting. After the first episode you want to know what happens next. Plus each ep is only 23 minutes and won't take up your whole day or night! That being said I found myself wishing each episode was longer and that we had more of the background stories for Honey, Mori, twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, and Kyoya. I really enjoyed the actress that plays Haruhi as well; she's is so cute!! I usually don't even like shows where I don't find the male lead attractive but Yusuke Yamamoto was so damn good as Tamaki I found myself falling for him after each episode!! Another plus is that the show follows the anime fairly close.I thoroughly enjoyed this show!
