Well, this month I couldn't find anything else I wanted to watch so I decided to give the series another try, and I decided to start at episode 14. I finished the series in 10 days and let me tell you why: Wang Yi Bo. I found his character Zhi Wei to be funny and endearing and despite how spoiled he initially is, he grows up a lot throughout the series and he treats An Qing Huan (Joe Chen) sincerely. I also really liked Gavin Xie as An Qing Huan's best friend. I always appreciate loyal friends in Chinese dramas because there's frequently so much scheming and backstabbing. The villainous character was played very well though.
Aside from Wang Yi Bo, what I liked is that the romance in this drama wasn't some love at first sight, destined to be together storyline. It felt realistic, developed over time, so even if I didn't like the characters I could appreciate their relationship. EXCEPT I hated Ding Ren Jian in the end. He was so inconsiderate and he didn't even realize it. It felt realistic and true to his character, but it was a pain to watch. Also, I did appreciate the drama's emphasis on working hard, not giving up, being brave enough to keep trying.
In conclusion: if you're bored or really like any of the cast members, give this a try. Be prepared to skip/skim. Would I recommend it to a friend? No. Was it the worst drama I've seen? No.

Great acting | Wang Yibo is angelic
I came to check out Wang Yibo’s acting after The Untamed. To my surprise, this is a delightful drama which has not been properly appreciated. The acting by the 2 main leads, Joe Chen and Tong Da Wei, is excellent. They are funny, lovable and natural. Having said that, I couldn’t feel the chemistry between the two. To me, they are best friends who help out each other in times of need. On the other hand, I feel Wang Yibo’s love towards the Joe Chen character more intense and sincere despite they are not meant to be together. At the time of filming, I believe Wang Yibo was still a teenager or just beginning to enter adulthood. Bearing this in mind, I feel he did a fantastic job in acting the role of Di Zhi Wei who is a spoiled brat from a filthy rich family. Wang Yibo has a natural cold look and a don’t-give-a-damn expression written all over his face naturally, playing this role is a brilliant selection of the directors. Wang Yibo really fits in the character so well. He is so good looking with an angelic face, so when he is facing failures and forced to grow up, one’s heart really goes all out for him wanting to shield him from the pain he’s facing. But look is not his only asset; Wang Yibo is multi-talented. In this drama, he showcases some of these talents. He is an amazing dancer, and some of his dance moves are inserted in the drama; he loves long boarding and again he demonstrates his skills here; he loves gaming, and in this drama, he has a new startup company developing gaming apps. Despite his age, his acting is pretty good; he is funny, silly, very lovable, tender, and super cute. Playing Di Zhi Wei feels like Wang Yibo is playing himself, totally natural.
A fun drama to watch. Don’t miss it!

Oh my god, everything that happened was so expected ! So many clichés ! Tong Da Wei was charming but playing such a fool character ! Was there a single smart character in here ? I don't think so. A bunch of loosers and sick people who are so far away from reality and without any consistance. I recommand episode 30 where a marriage proposal's scene was such a waste although the actors were just beautiful and emotional ! What was the screenwriter's intention ? It was so ridiculous !
What about Wang Yibo ? He was 19 when he shot this drama and he actually shows great acting potential. If you are a Wang Yibo's fan, watch this, you will see him dance, roller-skate, drive a Ferrari, ride a motorcycle and even sing ! He even plays a model and an idol (such a piece of cake) ! And he will also cry (real tears please !) and kiss a girl... Honestly his acting is good but his character is just a nonsens.
The whole casting was rather excellent and saves this drama which really deals with love but in the worst way. If you want to watch a thrilling love story with unforgettable moments and lines, you'd better pass your way.
If you want to see how good actors can save a drama you can give it a try !

I'm not really sure how to rate this drama. I liked the acting and the story. It truly wasn't bad, but it left me disappointed. When the friendship between An Qing Huan and Ding Ren Jian started to develop, I was excited. It's not very common to see a purely platonic friendship between a woman and a man. I even accepted when they started dating because sure, sometimes love is inconvenient and this relationship development felt real. What made me sad and kinda angry is the fact that they clearly aren't compatible as a couple. Sure, they care about each other a lot and want to support each other unconditionally. But that's not romance, that's still friendship. I just wanted to see one (1) friendship that can stay pure. And as for a love interest... Di Zhi Wei was right. there. Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent Cast Saved A Bad Arrangment
I watched this because of Wang Yibo and was impressed with his acting (he was only 19 then). The story was compelling at first (and original too), and not your typical ML sees beautiful FL and falls in love at first sight. It is an enchanting tale of three people (born in different millenium 70s, 80s and 90s) becoming best of friends through unusual (and hostile!) circumstances. The way Tong Da Wei, Joe Chen and Wang Yibo fleshed out their roles were hilarious and sweet. They make you want to cry and laugh at the same time. What a trio ! They had great chemistry together and it was totally unexpected and a pleasant surprise to me. I had always thought Wang Yibo to be that poker faced Lan Wangji, Didn't know he has comedic talents and he didn't look awkward amongst older colleagues like Chen and Tong. However, I didn't like the way the story was developing towards the latter half as everything seemed to be "rushed" and abrupt. Wang Yibo's character was deemphasized and even the support roles had more screen time than him. I felt that his father's character was killed too abruptly too in this story. It was as if the director deliberately wants to retire Zhai Ziwei (Wang's character) . Viewers were left wondering what happened to him in the end. Shouldn't he be the one ascending the ladder and take over the Zhai corporation or Tang Da Wei's new found software company since the villain's have been eliminated? Sadly, we were left with a cliffhanger and Wang's character remained an actor/celebrity. Mind you he is a software wizard and shouldn't he be the one to take over Ding Ren Jian's new software compeny rather than the FL's best friend who's in a totally different line (architect)? The plot just doesn't make sense at the end to me. Granted that this drama was before he shot to fame in The Untamed, I can quite understand why he didn't have a big part but at least give some thought to the plot development. It has to make sense. Overall, I loved the chemstry between Wang Yibo, Joe Chen and Tong Dawei. They were hilarious together especially when they spoofed Jolin Tsai's "Love". Rewatch? Nah!Was this review helpful to you?

I dropped it after half of the 3rd episode [Too much Misogyny]!
I started watching this drama for Wang Yibo, but the misogyny in it was really off-putting. The ML criticizes the FL about how she dresses less conservatively on different occasions when they are just strangers, the FL's best friend or someone makes it seem like a big deal that she's mostly manipulated by a woman "The person you are kneeling to is not even a man but a woman" and what acted as the last straw was the ML's father saying that wanting to earn money/ caring about income is only a woman's opinion "If you always think that money is that important, then it's a woman's opinion." There was also a part where Yibo's character's mother was describing the perfect daughter-in-law for her and that was slightly weird as well, but I felt that making it feel weird was the goal of the producers, so I didn't care too much about that scene.Look I live in Asia and I've seen way worse in some local dramas but that doesn't make this alright. If someone actually spoke up against these comments in the drama, then I wouldn't have minded them, but everyone in those scenes just 'took it' like it was supposed to be said. The FL actually looked embarrassed on some occasions when the ML indirectly assumed she was a sex-worker and when he said that people will get the wrong idea if they see her. I'll probably watch the scenes with Yibo, but I'm definitely dropping this drama.
