'Perfect World' is a love story which portrays the meaning of true love.
It was a beautiful movie. The story was amazing and heart-warming, at the same time, sad and heart-breaking. The cast did an amazing job in the movie! I definitely loved their characters and what I truly adored about the movie is its mindblowing cinematography! Really intriguing and mesmerizing!
In conclusion, I would recommend this to all. This was overall great and really enjoyable. 8.5/10 <3

But first thing first. The movie started nicely and the way they presented the story was packed with feels and a bit drama. However, I would have loved if they explored the main characters personalities and struggles more and Ido believe the actor would have delivered the role better if the script allowed him to.
Still, the love story was sweet and touching. It also had some short of innocence into it. And the performances were good.
So, seven out of ten.

Short and Sweet
Story (8.5/10):The storyline was simple, yet engaging. A young girl who meets her first love again, except now her first love is no longer able to walk after a car accident. Even though she is aware of the challenges that may come if she chooses to be with him, she stayed true to her feelings and was there for him whenever he was at his weakest. The story was very inspiring and realistic with the way how it was portrayed.
Acting/Cast (8/10):
The female lead did well with portraying the feelings of a young woman who admires her first love from afar. Her character was simple but very understanding. The male lead also did a pretty good job of portraying the frustrations of being handicapped. He was selfless and kind.
Since this is a movie, there wasn't a lot of time to show character development, but you could see how each character stayed true to who they were. I think that was one of the things I really appreciated.
The side characters like the parents and the nurse really bring out the essence of the movie. I feel like they were the reality checkers for the most part, but also the ones who really understand the struggles of the young couple
Music (7/10):
The music wasn't really there for most of the parts. Whenever it was played, it was quiet and was there to fill up the silence.
Rewatch Value (7/10):
I'll probably rewatch this movie again way later down the road. It wasn't too romantic or too emotional. It mostly just focused on the mental and physical challenges they had to go through as a couple.
SPOILER!!!!
One of the things that I really enjoyed was that the ending was very realistic. I know there were a lot of people who hoped that he would be able to walk again, but I feel like that would defeat the whole purpose of the movie. As the male lead said, "Just by being together with you, my world will be perfect". I think that was a beautiful ending. She loved him when he was walking, and even now, she still loves him even though he is in a wheelchair.

What I like:
+ The realistic life about disabled people
+ Good actor/ess. I can feel their feeling; their happiness, their desperation...
What I don't like:
- Feel lack of something. Maybe cause of the duration. Should watch for the drama version then. Haha...
Overall this a good movie to watch

A story about a disabled person who finds love and gets his happy ending? A sight unseen! But lo and behold, it really does happen in this movie. I'm kinda not used to this!Iwata Takanori plays the male lead and he's ah-mazing. He's one of those actors who, when they smile, you can hear angels singing. I'm exaggerating, I know, but seriously, there's simply something about him smiling that gives you warm fuzzies. And in this movie, he's the embodiment of sunshine and unicorns: warm, kind, loving, sweet... That's why his character's story, the obstacles he has to overcome and all these little frustrations that he meets every day, all that hits you where it truly hurts.
And then there's Sugisaka Hana as the female lead and she's as cute as a button and the way her character sticks with the ML, the way she supports him and goes through all the hardships together with him because for her, it's all worth it, he is worth it... yeah. I bawled.
If you love whump there's some really good one in this movie, too!

Dont forget to watch the post credit scene :>
I watched the movie right after finishing the drama, so my review is a little biased and not solely for the movie, but also in comparison to the drama. Ive rated the drama with 7 and the movie 0.5 stars more, because the movie does a lot of things right, which frustrated me in the drama. But..its also a very skimmed version of the story. So if youre looking for a fleshed out story and characters, that add something to the story, i would recommend to watch the drama, because it has a lot of loveable support characters. But its also way more frustrating than the movie. Nonetheless, i dont know if i would have rated the movie so high, if i didnt watch the drama before it, because the story feels very rushed here. Its quite shallow, but still cute and i dont regret watching the movie. The female actress is way better in the movie. I love her acting and how confident she is. She's absolutely cool and i like her a lot! When it comes to the male lead, i liked both actors. And thank god Nagasawa wasnt such a pain in the ass in the movie. It was actually cool that she told Tsugumi to which things she has to be attentive to, instead of belittling her and just telling her she wont be able to handle Ayukawas disability.
For me, the movie was a nice watch, because i dont have the dragged drama and the whole frustrating experience from the show, but i understand if people find it too shallow, fast paced or messy, without watching the drama first. I always prefer a fast paced romance over draggy, frustrating dramas, but i also cant deny that the drama has a lot of likeable support characters, who made the drama a lot of fun. The movie is kinda a best of of all the most important moments. x)

Average Movie that Could've Been Better, Overall good romance
This felt like an average romance movie, I did like the romance initally but felt that the main lead was annoying, Kawano was always so open and vulnerable and it bothered me that Itsuki was in a pity party, it didn't make sense to me because he had been disabled for 6 years at this point, but still held on to feeling like he couldn't be loved, which is the main problem that the couple face, so it was frustrating to watch. Even the surgery felt random to me and pathetic because Itsuki should've said this to her earlier and to her face, not through a note. I'm glad they both are together in the end but it was annoying to get through. Was this review helpful to you?

Watch the movie before the series
Movie vs Series - Watch the movie first before series. This review is a combination of both the series and the movie.
So let me talk first about the pros and cons between the two.
Pros:
Movie:
Is short and is not full of angst and the heartache part is relatively short which is understandable since it is only an hour and 42
Series:
We get to know all the characters and their backstories. We get to love, hate, and then be okay with some of them. The story was properly expressed and we can properly root for the main lead and their second leads about their life.
Cons:
Movie:
The story overall was not properly expressed and I felt that with this kind of story, it must not be just an almost 2-hour long movie. Some characters are just there because they are "needed" to be there but are not necessarily part of the movie's overall story. Also, there are so many skips in timelines (maybe because this is a movie and they need to keep it as precise as possible, and maybe because I watched the series first). So maybe for those who are going to watch this movie and series, I would suggest to watch the movie first and then the series for a more satisfactory watch. Also, I felt that the casting for the movie did not match the characters. Like for example Miki and Koreda. Also, the acting of ML and FL (for me) is a little off. I just can't seem to sympathize with them or their characters at all.
Series:
I know it only has 10 episodes (and before I watched this, I asked if it has a happy ending because I tend to not watch if it's not), and in terms of drama - cdrama- in particular, 10 episodes is relatively short but because it has at last 3 episodes of pure heartache and slight angst (these are the episodes where I start to hate the second leads, especially the 2nd FL) that I had the urge to just skip it. and watched the good part. But as they say, no pain no glory, so I pushed through it (barely) and hated the 2nd FL and felt sorry for the 2nd ML. But I have to say, the 2nd ML has it coming. He knew that the FL was still in love with the ML but still pushed and pushed the FL to marry him. And the 2nd FL, I just can't understand her logic at all.
Do not get me wrong, I still like the movie but because I started with the series that the movie felt so rushed and add to it that I did not feel the connection of the cast with their respective characters. Take for example the ML in the early part when he was hospitalized. In the series, you can see and feel his frustration that he can't work but I did not see that in the movie. Another example is when the ML is doing the "I will let you go because I only make you unhappy" scene/speech, in the series, it was so heartbreaking that I felt what the ML is feeling as well as the FL, and I cried with them but I did not do that in the movie.
However, let me say this, the ML in the movie has a beautiful smile but then again as well as the ML in the series. He even has a beautiful crying or trying so hard not to cry face because he was so happy in Episode 10 when FLs father said "Please make her happy".
So if you are going to watch the series first, I suggest not to watch the movie at all. It will leave you hanging and feeling to watch the series all over again! hehehe
Also, I love Chako!!! Though Kenzo is cute...hahaha..

Everything is lacking
I understand the synopsis. It should be angsty, sad, and heartbreaking, but I didn't feel that at all. I almost couldn't continue watching the movie because of disappointment, as it didn't reach my expectations.First of all, the acting of both leads needs improvement here, especially the FL. I couldn't feel their frustration, hope, want, sadness, and how desperate they were. The narration and their lines mention their emotions and reactions, but I couldn't see it in their faces.
On the other hand, the storyline feels so rushed. They say they were happy together, they had fun, etc. etc. But the movie barely showed their affection. So, I couldn't sympathize with them because it was lacking.
Also! the plot and characters (the way they were written) are faulty like there were many plot holes, which should be there but seem to be forgotten after. Anyway, everything feels missing.

it was so heartwarming and breaking at the same time...
I dont even know where to start. the movie points out lots of hardships a disabled person can face, from the other companie girls' comments about itsuki "you can never have an actual relationship with him" , to tsugumi's dad's attitude "I dont want my daughter to face so many diffuculties". they were cruel as they were unfortunately realistic , there are a lot of people who would say these as the movie analized them so well. my heart ached a lot for itsuki yet tsugumi really made me relaxed as I saw how much she cared for him. what made that care special for me was that she didnt only worry about him ,but she also let him do what he wants and showed him she trusts in him multiple times which was just what itsuki needed. he was suffering to see people around him feeling sad for him but our kawana came and ask the nurses if he could just contunie working , because she knew if he didnt complete his task because of his condition , his confidence in himself would be damaged. I really loved how kawana treated him , she was really gentle and supportive yet really wasnt acting like he cant live on his own , she always showed she trusts him on doing anything he wants. that was the most touching part for me.in the end kawana builed , protected and proved this relationship to everyone. she even convinced her dad which I think was the hardest because a father worrying about his daughter wont give up easyly. I was really touched by that girl during the whole movie. she really didnt hesitate to make decisions and she knew how to treat people and how to care for them without making them feel miserable. For me , she was one of the most memorable charachters in the japanese movie history for me.
Our ML on the other hand , was also pretty cute and kind but just like I said before , that girl kawana really stealed my heart with her beautiful attitude towards him.
the ending felt just a bit rushed tho , but I loved how they showed us the wedding
I just rated music a bit low because I really didnt pay much attention to it , i hope everyone who needs to feel strong instead of needs to be treated like a baby , i hope you will all find your kawana ( I wish this for myself as well at some point)
it was beautiful , I just stole tiny points because the ending was just a little bit fast , it was realistic and heartwarming
