So I rated this movie so high because I really wasn't expecting to like it, but by the end I was bawling like a baby, and any film that can do that is a good one in my books.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]Even though the 2016 version is more logical than this version, but I love this version better. This version give us more tragic vibe and emotion roller coaster, especially when Akari trying to chase Ryota and when she begging Ken to stop the time.
The casts' acting are so good, especially the male and female lead. They’re clearly have a good chemistry, so that they can play their role very naturally.
So, if you feel like you want to watch something sad and want to cry, I will recommend this movie (^_^)

one of the most boring romance film ive seen (ok not really)
the moe girl didnt save this decent film from being so badly pace piece of low budget medium of entertainment...
(negative comment...come to me ^.^)
time travel theme is the kind of stuff that i really really interest with..(ive seen dozens of time themed films..and this is the worse)
(i actually watch this coz ive seen the awesome anime which is actually the direct sequel or spiritual sequel and this is a prequel whatever....this film is the third remake or second adaption of a certain novel)
my rant
1. acting is so so trying hard school play
2. the love story in this is soso fake and force which really doesnt exsist
3. pace is slower than snail/ no big deal really happening except for the force scenarios
4. the climax is cliche as going to hell
5. the ending is fine
6. very very predictable...
7. heartwarming scene is fake
8. if you find this poo wanna be film exciting and suprising with many many twist....bring a calculator and count it and tell me how many.
ps: this is my 2nd rage review ^w^ (will edit soon without rudeness)

There isn't really nothing special about the plot whatsoever, other than teenage love. It's just another one of your typical Japanese love stories.
So, if you're looking for another romance film, this is it. Looking for a live-action remake of the anime? Skip it. You'll be greatly disappointed should you decide in giving this a try.

Just finished
I just finished watching this and it was good. I don't know, I expected more romance from it after reading the plot synopsis. Where was the romance folks? Besides a kiss on the fore head there was nothing. It's really tragic at the end honestly but it's not so sad that I can't go about my day like Moon Lovers or something (Who hurt that script writer?). It was overall good. I wish they had a happy ending though. I'm a sucker for a happy ending. I don't know how they would've done it, like maybe he got off the bus right before it crashed or something and surprised her when she saw the cherry blossoms at the end. Let them be happy even though she was 18 and he'd be 56 at that point, just to know he's alive is enough. Although if he was gonna die anyway why can't he just be transported back to the future with her? Wouldn't that be cool. Japanese movies are always so sad man.Was this review helpful to you?
And it has one of the worst ending’s I’ve ever seen. So awful, it actually made me want to flip a table like Jesus.
But everything leading up to said ending was amazing. So there’s that.
You should definitely watch this movie. You will love it. But you will hate the ending.
