I stumbled upon this show while searching for varieties like Busted. And surprisingly (maybe due to my personal taste), I find Crime Scene to be a lot better than Busted. I only recently completed Crime Scene 1 and I'm still pumped with adrenaline (from the thrill and thinking from the show) while writing this review.

Story - I love how each case was based on a true crime that occurs in reality. Not only does it elaborate details related to the crime, the show also informs the viewers some ways to prevent it. I really found the format of this show awesome and unique. My personal favorite cases would be: Ep 3 & 4: The School Murder, Ep 7: The Prison, and Ep 10: The Finale.

Acting/Cast - I love how there are no clear alliances and suspicions are thrown against each other. I found myself loving some of the chemistry between some of the "suspects" they were playing during the cases. My personal favorite of the cast would be Hong Jin Ho because I find him smart and I like him so far in this season. I really thought Henry was weird during his appearances. Out of all the guests, my top picks would be Kang Min Hyuk and the real detective that appeared with him. I think the most improved out of the main cast would be Kim Yoon Ji and I am sad that she won't be in the 2nd season. Lastly, out of everybody, I find Park Ji Yoon leaving a bad taste during the last 2 episodes with her choice of words and her temper.

Music - I didn't really took notice of the music during the cases but I rated it 10 because I loved the last music they used during the last scenes of the last episode. It gave me some feels that it was ending its first season.

Rewatch Value: I rated it the lowest because there's no suspense and thrill anymore if you rewatch it.

Overall: 9/10. There are flaws and pacing issues especially in the first few episodes but I'm glad that the show found ways to improve itself as episodes go by.

Now, off to binge-watching season 2!

Very realistic crime scene setup that you would really use your brain to solve the crime.

This is one of my favorite show of all times. I like this kind of detective themed shows. I love the feeling of gathering several pieces of clues to complete the whole puzzle of mystery. They are also reenacting a crime based on a similar event that really happened. Then afterwards they have the segment of a specialist trying to relate the case to real life scenarios making it very informative and raising awareness.

For the casts, they are really daebak (awesome) because everyone have their unique personality thus making it more fun. Given the seriousness of the Crime Scene having someone murdered, there were bits of comedy all throughout each episodes. Henry Lau's character on the first 2 cases is confusing. I'm not sure if he's really like that or if that's just a concept for him to act crazy. And also I don't like the lawyer on the first few episodes for some reason but still, all the other casts were perfectly fine. They always got me fooled every time so I barely solved and figured out the culprit but still it's fun.

The sound effects are really engrossing giving off the mysterious ambience. I also find them cute every time they get shocked of the sound effects all throughout.

This is really a good show and I'm already looking forward in watching Season 2. I will definitely watch it again after few years so that by that time I forgot already the suspects and would be able to try guessing the culprit again.

if you liked the Genius, this is a good watch!

It starts off a little slow since each case took up 2 eps, but after the first 6 eps each case was just one ep which increased the thrill and excitement. It's a fun show to watch if you like murder mysteries and mind games! i love murder mysteries and the fact that each cast member had to act as the suspects added to the fun. Two of the cases even had a real police detective on the show with the cast members, and those were the most fun!! Last ep was especially exciting~ Can't wait to watch the next season now haha

A Thrilling Puzzle You Can't Resist.

Crime Scene Season 1 is easily one of my favorite shows of all time, and it brilliantly captures the thrill of solving mysteries. The show’s realism in setting up each crime scene is striking—you truly feel like you’re part of the investigation. Every episode presents a murder case where the cast, and you as a viewer, must gather clues to piece together the truth. It’s a mental exercise that feels both fun and challenging, as you navigate through the web of suspects and motives.

One of the things I love most about Crime Scene is the process of slowly unraveling the puzzle. The show brings together elements of real-life cases, which makes it feel like you're watching a reenactment of actual events. Some cases were fairly easy to solve, while others left me completely shocked when the culprit was revealed. Even when you think you’ve got it figured out, the show manages to pull the rug from under you, with clues hiding in plain sight the whole time. There are moments when the cast uncovers new evidence, and other times when they don’t—making the experience feel incredibly realistic.

The cast themselves add so much personality to the show. Every member brings something unique to the table, making the show more engaging. Their interactions, while centered around serious crime-solving, have a layer of humor that lightens the mood just enough to keep it fun without taking away from the mystery. I did find Henry Lau’s appearance in the first two cases a bit off-putting, though. His character felt too chaotic, almost like he wasn’t contributing to solving the case. It seemed like he wasn’t taking it as seriously as the others, which, given the intensity of the investigation, felt out of place.

Overall, Crime Scene Season 1 captured my attention in a way that few shows do. Even if each case had been stretched into multiple episodes, I would have gladly watched every minute. The blend of suspense, realism, and character dynamics makes it one of the most immersive detective-themed shows out there. Now, I’m eagerly awaiting Season 2, and I can’t wait to see how they top such a great first season.
