STORY
At first, this drama was full of mysteries and you just couldn't wait for the story to unfold, but once they were fully revealed, the excitement dies down quickly. After the mysteries were unfolded, the writers should've then started to develop the romance more but that didn't happen, unfortunately. I guess I was expecting for this drama to be made up of at least 50% romance because, well, the genre IS romance & comedy. But it was more like 15% romance lol. The romance between the leads was very subtle and slow - as in, it doesn't develop until much, MUCH later on, so that was quite disappointing. It disappoints me even more that the main lead and supporting character had more intimate (but dull & unromantic) scenes together than the lead couple. Suho and Ha Yeon Soo actually look very cute together. They have chemistry and there was so much potential for this on-screen couple but the story was just really lacking romance. I guess it focused more on Lee Yoo Chan's past and his journey being a CEO at his own company. I also wished Bora had more character development or stories behind her character because she's one of the leads, but it seemed as if the writers began to neglect her character a little bit later on. She sometimes felt more like a side character.
Some episodes were completely dull. There were sooooo much fillers. The amount of time they spent on Min Tae Ra and the artist she admired was ridiculous. Although, I did find the NEXT IN employees and Bora's friend, Miso, and Cha Do Jin more entertaining than the main story sometimes, just because the episodes would get really dull and those small characters made it a little more interesting and bearable to watch.
ACTING/CAST
I wasn't too pleased with Suho's acting here. I love Suho as a singer, but as an actor... not so much. I don't know what happened to him here. His facial expressions seem really unnatural and awkward sometimes. Is he really lacking acting skills or is it just because he didn't really fit the role of Lee Yoo Chan? Or maybe his character was just poorly written?... I was kind of able to empathize with Yoo Chan because of what he had been through but he was still pretty unlikable most of the time. They should've made him a little bit more likable, at least. Not gonna lie but... if it wasn't for Suho's charming face, his character would've been way more unlikable for me lol I just couldn't seem to hate his character because he looks so angelic haha.
MUSIC
On a positive note... I really liked the OST. The songs are very calming and catchy. A lot of times, I found myself listening to Hard for Me by Cheeze and also Do Young's ver. of that song. Also, Kei's Let's Pray was a really cute song too.
OVERALL
This drama had a lot of potential but it just didn't work out for me, unfortunately. I'd say it was poorly written. I kept hoping it would get better later on because the whole concept of the show is actually interesting, but it didn't get any better. I honestly just continued to watch it just for the sake of finishing it. At least the ending was somewhat satisfying, though.
Would I recommend it? No. Save 16+ hours of your time and watch something better. But if Suho's your bias and you feel that you just really gotta watch it, then go for it lol.

First of all in both versions I don't understand why the title "rich man, poor woman"...isn't it kind of a thing in 97% of dramas?...could have been named "the ceo and the employee" or "cheerful and naive girl falls for her boss who have some sort of past trauma" at this point.
The female lead's motivations were so weak when she claimed she wanted to stay in the company or beside the ceo (first time that she rejected the vice-minster woman) and I really can't understand what kind of character she should be...how can someone that can memorize an entire book and do all that administrative work (when they founded dancing whale) is considered dumb? The world is divided only in magical geniuses and idiots? And why she let people call her that way? She showed a little of attitude only in the last episode but so drastically that she seem another person entirely...
And why all that shareholders/meeting whatever footage?
The male lead was sorta okay, but in comparison with the japanese one he lacks a bit of charisma. I personally not really into that type of character so I even found him annoying sometimes.
The romance between the girl best friend and the womanizer guy was more interesting that the leads one.
Second female lead was annoying, I liked the one in the japanese version because she was competing fairly without being bitchy with the fem lead.
Some scenes (crying scenes mostly) were a bit weird, they overacted a bit.
Overall it gave me a Steve Jobs biography vibe with a little of Zuckerberg (the mini file/big file project), probably the original writer was inspired by those.
I found it very boring, won't recommend if you're looking for cute romance or comedy.

This depiction is not entirely true and I am glad I saw it and didn't go by what others said.
Although the other characters have a good story line going on, it in no way overpowers the main lead.
Some reviewers mentioned how the romance between the main characters was almost negligible and only developed in the end. This is true, but in no way is this damaging the show. Suho's character is a narcissistic person who is rude and doesn't care about others, so it's obvious that he will realize his feelings not in the 2nd episode, not in the 11th, but towards the end.
The love story between the two is pure love, one is trying to compensate for the love he lost a few years ago, one is still struggling to figure out what he feels because he knows what happened to him the last time he fell in love. They didn't fall in love instantly and spent the entire show trying to fight off people who are against their love like evil mom or power hungry dad. This love story was a little close to reality because we do sometimes realize our love a little too late.
I honestly think the negative comments are a little too much because the show isn't as bad as people are saying it to be.
As for the supporting cast, I loved how the show focused on the life struggles of Mi So and Do Jin. They not only looked cute together but this was among the few supporting story line that I did not want to skip.
As for Suho's acting that people seemed to be so disappointed with, the man is supposed to act like an emotionless robot who doesn't care for people around him and only thinks about himself. He is a human robot who feels nothing and I think he did it quite brilliantly.
I personally liked the entire show and I saw all the episodes to the end.

I understand that we judge the actors especially if they are a singer... because I've done it before and seen it before..from the comments and review.
AND... WE SHOULDN'T DO THAT. THAT'S NOT RIGHT. Plus, I know some of yall..including me, want to support our singers for coming to the acting industries...So.. let's do that and not be bitchy.
THANK YOU ;))
But... I recommend you watching it before you give your own opinion.
Read the story and not the actors' story/life/past/etc.
For me, I like this drama. There may be flaws and such but the romance, his personality, and their chemistry is soo cute.
Ha Yeon Soo is sooo kawaiii!! Her baby face is just soo adorable.
I first met her on Running Man... and her chemistry with Jongkook was so hot that when I searched her up.. I thought she's 22 yrs old but wow she's 29yrs old!! (30 in Korea)
And ofcourse. Suho! I've always wanted to watch this drama to support my EXOssss and the OLD HUMAN being from the group hahaha.
This is my first drama of watching Suho's acting, and I love it!! His attitude in his character, him being a bitch and giving those arrogant - and not so caring look.
I love those scenes whenever he smirks. SO ffff HOT!
Overall, the cast was good, the problem and major plot was shocking.
I was thinking that ''''''' might be the cause..but waw I was right. xD
There was some confusion in the story, especially the kid who draw arts on the street... they just left him and come back in the end.
I wish they had accident kiss and more kissing scenes.. but the drama itself was good. I like it.
I might come back and re watch the cheesy and funny moment hahah.
The ending was <3!!!
really recommend if you want to watch something richy and bossy, arrogant man. HAHAH

Rich Expectations, Poor Execution
I usually fly through my dramas but this one was quite difficult to finish. The story is dreadful. There is some mystery in the beginning but after everything is resolved, there is nothing to entertain you. The male MC is very unlikable and, in my opinion, he never really changes that much. I wish the female MC had grown some spine and put him in his place but she only has heart eyes for him. This was categorized as a romance but there is no chemistry between the leads and, until the very end, I didn't believe the male MC would fall for the female protagonist.
I think this is the first drama where I have enjoyed the secondary plot (with Bo Ra's best friend) more than the main storyline. Despite it, I was very bored throughout the episodes.
I also didn't enjoy the OST. I don't think the music had anything to do with the story since... it didn't seem to be a romance drama.
Overall, I pretty much hated it. Definitely one of my least favorite dramas.

First of all, I don't understand the title of the drama, it should be like "boss and the employee" or something else...
Secondly, every single character is boring. I was impressed by Suho’s acting, when he cried or got angry it looked awkward, but then, slowly, he improved. Anyway, his character was charming but boring...the same with the lead girl, the actress really needs to work in her acting, I didn't feel any emotion and I could see that when she cried it was fake/acting. Her friend was quite stupid and annoying, and her boyfriend was the same... Supporting characters were the funny ones.
Third - the story starts to be a mess. Seems like it doesn't have a point or objective.
Forth - the chemistry. I really didn't saw them like a couple, but more like good friends. They don't have a "start" or a "development" like lovers.
I wanted to see the japanese version, because the originals are always better, but after seeing this remake I'm afraid that I could just waste my time again.
I'm sorry, but this drama was the worst of the year, so far.

Only watch this if you love Suho
It's been a while since I watched this, but I still wanted to review it so bear with me.As an EXO-L, The only reason I finished this show was Junmyeon. To be frank it starts off well plot wise. All the mistery surrounding Yoo Chan and the woman he is looking for is quite grippping, but as soon as that subplot is over with the drama starts to go downhill fast. Also, I still don't understand why they focused so much on Tae Ra and that painter when that story led to basically nowhere. I thought the whole prosopagnosia thing and the fact that that the male lead could only recognise the female lead would be much more explored, too, especially romantically wise, but sadly it wasn't
The main characters are all terrible, to be honest. Tae Joo is a manipulative liar, while the first leads simply consist of tropes. Bo Ra is just so bland, your standard innocent and unrealistically nice k drama female protagonist, only showing some personality in the very last episode. Yoo Chan is also the rich asshole, scarred by the past. The sole reason I put up with an entire show of him being a jerk was because of Junmyeon's handsome face and charisma, although I must say his portrayal was quite awkward and overacted in many scenes.
Sicerely, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, maybe only if you're and EXO-L and a hardcore Suho stan, otherwise this drama is a big waste of time.

Either KJM is very bad at playing a cocky, yet sweet self-made man with a fear of abandonment-- or *very good* at playing a mentally ill, developmentally challenged sociopath with mommy issues.

Rich Man, Poor Woman is a terrible name for a drama, but because of the lead actors, I decided to watch it anyway. The story isn't so bad. It is pretty typical. CEO has a childhood trauma that makes him a cold asshole, then a beautiful, cheerful woman comes into his life and changes him. I have watched this story and enjoyed it many times. The story isn't the problem. What is bad about this drama is that the character growth is minimal. Plus, I thought this was supposed to be a romance but there wasn't much. The writer took too long and it was slow and a little boring. I mean shouldn't the lead actor and actress kiss and have more intimate moments than the supporting actors and actresses? Anyway, the story between Cha Do Jin (Park Sung Hoon) and Mi So (Yoon Da Young) was more interesting and they had great chemistry.
The acting was just so so. I'm a total fan of idols turned actors, but Yoo Chan (Suho) wasn't very good here. Some of his facial expressions and acting was really strange and down right ridiculous. I don't know what that weird twisted upper lip expression was that he kept using, but someone should have told him to stop. I think he was the most natural when he was with Kim Bo Ra (Ha Yeon Soo). Ha Yeon Soo is a good actress and she did well in this role. She was one of the highlight of the drama.
The music is pretty good, although somewhat overused.
I will never rewatch this.
If you want to watch a romance, then there are better ones out there. I don't recommend this drama.

Though the premise is good, in my opinion it has several flaws: lead female character is really pretty but with no backbone at all (which I find really annoying), lead male character is a jerk and I can't stand him nor I understand why on earth she's into him. Finally, the plot drags itself out too much.
Acting is average, too.
Overall, good intentions, mediocre execution.
On a side note: why are there so many shows with characters affected by prosopagnosia?
