And then the acting...As much as i love Exo,in this case, i'm judging Suho as an actor and not as an idol. You can really notice throughout the whole drama that he lacks the skills. He had the same expression since the first episode to the last. It was like a half pout, half smirk. LIKE WHY NOBODY TOLD MY MAN IT LOOKED WEIRD? I think he should practice more before he tries to act again.
And i mean, how can everyone be good at acting except the main leads? The most important ones were the worst. And their romance was absolutely dry. 0 chemistry.
I was more interested in the supporting characters(i loved Mi So and Cha Do Jin; Min Tae Ra and that painter guy ),they were the only ones that made this drama bearable. (Steve and the other 2 were squad goals).
They should've chose a better cast for the main couple and a better writer. The last episodes were such a filler,i almost fell asleep, and it's a shame.
Overall,i'm giving it a 5 just because like i said,i really loved the supportive characters and it's not their fault they had to follow a bad produced script.

Interesting sometimes Boring....
Rich Man presents a refreshing take on the romantic comedy genre, blending heartfelt moments with a unique premise. The story centers on Lee Yoo Chan, the CEO of the successful IT company Next In, who struggles with prosopagnosia, a condition that prevents him from recognizing faces. His guarded nature creates a compelling backdrop for his relationship with Kim Bo Ra, a determined college student with dreams of working for his company. The chemistry between the leads, played by Lee Min-ki and Kim Ji-won, is undeniably captivating. Their relationship evolves beautifully, highlighting themes of trust and comfort, which makes their connection feel genuine. The supporting characters also add depth to the narrative, and their subplots are just as engaging, providing comic relief and additional layers to the main story.
However, the series does have its shortcomings. One of the main issues is the pacing, particularly in the buildup to the main couple's confession of love. While the tension and anticipation can be thrilling, I found myself growing impatient at times, wishing for a more immediate exploration of their feelings. The slow burn, while effective in some instances, might frustrate viewers looking for a quicker resolution.
Additionally, some plot points felt a bit predictable, adhering to familiar romcom tropes. This predictability, combined with the drawn-out romantic tension, led me to feel that while the story was enjoyable, it lacked the freshness needed to elevate it beyond a standard romantic comedy.
In conclusion, Rich Man is a charming watch with strong themes of perseverance and friendship, making it a worthwhile addition to the romcom genre. Despite its pacing issues and predictability, the heartfelt moments and character development make it a series I would recommend to fans of the genre. If you’re looking for a light-hearted show with relatable characters and an engaging story, give Rich Man a try!

Bristly, wealthy boss
9.5/10 is my rating. This is a 2018 South Korean tv series with 16, 60 minute, episodes.A romance series about Lee Yoo-chan (Kim Jun-myeon) who used his genius level programming skills to become a young CEO of his company, Next In. His co-founder and Vice President friend, Min Tae-joo (Oh Chang-suk) is as warm and personable as Yoo-chan is cold and rude. Yoo-chan is a highly charismatic and successful CEO who hides the fact that he has a facial recognition disability from those he seeks to do business with. Kim Bo-ra (Ha Yeon-soo), is seeking employment and most are quickly dismissive as her near super human memory skills. However, while dismissive at first, Yoo-chan has a project where Bo-ra's skill is a perfect fit. His plan is to utilize her skill to land a big contract and then let her go. Bo-ra's goal is to get hired permanently and she has an ally in Tae-joo. Yoo-Chan has money to spare and often buys people off to appease and/or win favor. Bo-ra values more than money and calls the arrogant and snobbish young CEO to task about his values and treatment of others. Can two such seeming opposites find a path to love? Can Bo-ra show her real worth and be more than just a memory machine for Next In?
Spoiler ? I expected this to be a fluffy, predictable romantic comedy and it was that in a lot of ways. Which is just what I felt like I needed after watching some heavier shows. It actually had a lot of surprising surprising depth and insight into being a human and interacting with others. it is true there is a cultural divide when someone is extremely wealthy and someone else is not. But when you truly love somebody those types of things can be overcome. I liked the interplay and development of all the characters. The romance was sweet and believable. The female lead grew and evolved as well. It was fun seeing her go from someone with no real self-confidence and no idea what she was capable of to someone who is extremely capable and determined. It is amazing and true what everyone can learn from other people. Someone who is cold and does not empathize with other people can learn a lot from someone who is kind, warm and thoughtful. That is not incredibly surprising. What is surprising is that someone who is kind, warm and thoughtful can also learn something from someone that is cold and confident. Goes to show if we were all the same that we would not grow as a people. You often hear that everyone can learn something from someone else. At times it can be hard to believe specially if you’re someone who is sensitive and kind and you encounter someone who seems to just be awful. We can probably all think of someone in our lives like that. If you think long enough about it you might be surprised what you learned. And I find that I can relate and learn something even from dramas that I think are going to be pretty surface level. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and would recommend it.

Weak drama with some cute and funny moments
This is too cliche even for me, in terms of romance, which surprised me. Suho's acting is just... normal, and so is the lead girl's.I didn't really find that the characters had a strong motivation to do anything, and also didn't understand how/why the leads fell in love. It's one of those storylines that goes like "this girl is so beautiful and has so much potential but somehow no one ever notices her, and then suddenly many incredible opportunities start showing up to her, but her humbleness won't let her enjoy them". It was either poorly executed or I'm just exhausted of it, specially because I didn't see her appeal. She has a superhuman ability and does zero with it, it's too irritating to make me cheer her on.
And then she falls for a rich character that has the personality of a door. He has an interesting condition that sort of allows him to get away with being a jerk, and they made him so stupidly wealthy. I feel like they just went overboard with the tropes on this one, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone that doesn't just want to enjoy seeing Suho for 16 episodes (I did. But still).

Watch the Japanese Version
I will preface my review with, I'm not an EXO-L so I feel like I have some objectivity about the male lead. Okay, so ugh, he was such a jerk in this! Alot of male leads have face blindness, you'd think it was more common than it actually is. IDK who told the writers that we'd want to see the male lead treat the female lead like absolute garbage until the very end but they were misguided. Who told them we wanted him to be in a relationship and even kiss the second female lead like 100 times before he kissed the female lead, which was once and at the very end, WTF? Also the way he would brag about it to the female lead. like dude WTF? He knew she liked him too which made it worse. He was just mean! The second male lead was annoying too. Why would he blow up an entire corporation for a girl who was interested in someone else. It became cartoonish at the end. The second female lead had some misplaced confidence too, she was alright looking but she acted like she was god's gift. I did like the female lead though, she did let people mistreat her quite a bit but still she was an overall good person who followed her heart and did what she felt was right. I did like the side story of her friend and that programmer too. Anyway, that all being said, the Japanese version was overall better, acting, storyline, everything. I normally prefer the Korean version but this was the exception. I really didn't like the male lead. What was his problem? Was this review helpful to you?

why is this drama so annoying?
it's a good drama but there are a lot of things that i honestly didn't like.1, i like and dislike lee yoo-chan's personallity: i like that he acts mean but does sweet things for her behind her back but sometimes i just hate the way he thinks and talks to her.
2, min tae-ra: she isn't confident she's just annoying i hate the way she pushed him to date her it really pissed me off, she kept trying to bring up how she is pretty and rich and how her father is great she was just being a cocky b!tch.
3, Dating: Ceo lee and min tae-ra are basically the main characters because of how long they dated it's really stupid he sould have just fallen in love with min tae-ra at the end. ceo lee and bo ra's love story was just really stupid and short in my eyes.
4, Bo ra's crying: i get that some people are very emotional but why tf did she cry like 10 times every ep at some point i just started to skip when she started crying.
5, the characters: if i'm being 100% honest i started to hate every character towards the end they either became annoying or stupid. would i ever watch this again hell no. but it might be something that u like so go ahead. it just wasn't for me

A "SOME" that never went farther
Literal biggest waste of my time. I was so mad that I wasted 16 hours of my life that I will never get back on this show. the fact that they never got together until the 48th minute in the last episode is wild to me. I hated this. I will never recommend it to anybody one star if I could give it zero I would. Was this review helpful to you?

LET DOWN
Rich man, poor woman is a remake of a Japanese drama of the same name. I initially started this cause of junmyeon and I deeply regret watching this lmao. The remake was horrific and changed so much of the plot (not for the better) and had an insufferable lead. The leading man has a character that is seen as very undesirable unless he is acted out properly, in the original oguri shun did a great job of this and had a very chic confident persona. However, junmyeon definitely was not able to live up to this and his portrayal ended with a character that was cocky, rude and overall INSUFFERABLE (the changes to the story didn’t help this at ALL). They changed him looking for his mom to his lover which in general requires a big amount of chemistry between the leads to pull over, this version had practically no chemistry between the leads so that was a horrible move. Junmyeon failed to recreate the charisma that oguri shun gave the character and also showed no character development with the character (tho this can partially be blamed on the fact that the plot was altered to make him more insufferable and static as well). Main actress was very cute but her character was annoying in a way. Second female lead was definitely 3x worse in this version than the og, while the og second female lead was only annoying in some parts the second female lead in this remake was just as insufferable as the main guy there was literally no reason for the remake to make a plotline of them dating cause it added nothing but further frustration to the plot. The only part of this remake that I actually enjoyed was sunghoon playing the tech guy and his romance with her BFF other than that this was a major let down. Was this review helpful to you?

The plot was OK. They did a big build up to who the mystery woman was but it was quickly resolved. It almost felt like that part of the show wasn't really connected to the rest of it. I also found the stuff with Yoo Chan to be very deus ex machina (like pop suddenly he solves all the company's woes). I really enjoyed the vibe of the company but I felt like the show got bogged down in love triangle drama. I disliked Min Tae Ra, I just found her boring (I think this came down to the writing rather than the actor, she did great). I liked the side story with the room-mate, and the other with the artist. I think if they had spent a little bit more time on the story with the artist, it could have given them a better chance at writing a well developed Min Tae Ra. In terms of pacing it really felt like it could have been cut down to 10 or 11 episodes. I had to force myself to watch the last three episodes because there was nothing left to resolve.
Acting/Castwise. Everything but the two main characters was good and even they weren't so bad except when they were together it was like they were siblings. There was zero sense that they actually wanted each other at the end (one scene at the airport he's actually leaning away from her lol). I felt like Suho became a lot better as the show went on but at the same time it just didn't gel completely.
The music was alright. Nothing stood out and I wouldn't seek out any of the songs.
Rewatching wise - I normally have a hug of death when it comes to dramas. Even though I'm running out of space I want to have them all just in case I want to watch them in the future. Sadly that was not the case for this one.
Overall I'd give it a 6/10. It's not that the show is terrible (there are shows that are much worse for sure), it's just so bland. If I watch a drama I'm supposed to feel something or anticipate something, instead it felt like a chore. I'd suggest skipping this one and trying out something else.

I may have not finished the drama, but I have watched other dramas before, and the experiences have all been similar. I stopped at episode four because the new episodes just kept getting repetitive. Most of the scenes that happen in the drama do not contribute to the plot all that much. They focus too much on the character romance/interest in one another. And when a conflict does arise, it does not even make sense as to why the character reacted that way. They made him way too immature to be the CEO of one of the best companies that exists in the drama. The story overall isn't intriguing enough for the viewer to continue watching. It's too bad because the drama started off great in introducing the way the company functions and the characters.
In short, the story was bland and focused too much on the romantic aspects, while the main character (who should be the CEO) is too immature for his role.
