Thank goodness for Steve

Oh man I was hoping for a classic cheesy rom com, but I don’t even know where to start. I feel like this calls for bullet points:
•What happened to the romance? Everyone got more romance than the leads! The 2FL. The bestie and the playboy. The sus VP. The rando artist guy. Even the last minute office couple. Seriously writers, you trolled.
•FL was so incredibly annoying. She only knows how to clompy run, can’t walk it seems, even just a few paces. Like her shoes are too big the whole drama. She cries ALL the time. She puts up with quite a bit (far too much) verbal abuse, mostly from the ML. For most of the show. Like 99%.
•Extreme lack of chemistry with ALL the relationships.
•So many plot holes, I’m not going there.
•Goes from mega rich to penniless in a matter of a day. Like seriously? You had nothing in the bank, and why does a rich person not own a home or a car?
•Plot was slow and pointless for too long.
•The scheming 2FL was as dry as a brick, the relationship was weird and cringe and went on too long.
•ML acts jelly in the early episodes and then seems to quickly forget he had anything to be jelly about.

Honestly I was hoping for a Cunning Single Lady type show and got something total pants. It’s so forgettable I’ve watched it before and forgot and only realized about half way through, at what point I watched the rest as I couldn’t remember the ending. Likely I’ll have forgotten about it next week.

Steve. We are all on #teamsteve. Thank goodness for Steve. For his weird facial expressions and random english lines that brought humor, laughter and a whole lot of funny comments on Viki. You did it Steve. You saved the show and the bored to death viewers!!!!

This was my first ever watched K-Drama back then. It's a drama with mysteries in it. With every episode the mystery gets revealed a bit. It's a good drama. I loved Suho, his looks are just amazing as always. Due to Suho, I came to know about EXO band and then much more about K-Dramas and K-Pop. Overall it's a good drama that encourages you to get up even when you fall down. I loved the characters. Lee Yoo Chan is a serious look guy who just knows how to program all the time. And Kim Bo Ra is a girl who is full of happiness even though in her bad times. Even though she is suffering financially she always keeps her hope up to make everything workout.
At first it is just a guy who is into programming only. Later due to the girl Kim Bo Ra who is the cause with mysteries enters his life and he starts to change. His prosopagnosia get cured just for her at first. But, later it gets over as he starts to know people when he is left with nothing to do. Since, he has to leave his ceo post in NextIn company. But overall, it's a good drama which i have watched for more than one time and didn't get bored. I have seen suggestions that while watching K-drama for the first time you should start with Boys Over Flowers. But it was not bad at all to start with Rich Man though. It sure made my interest grow for K-Drama world.

Overall, this drama had be on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. I would definitely recommend it. I came to love it this drama for the main story line involving the success/failure of tech company Next In. I haven't watched many dramas that involve innovative technology so I thought that was a cool aspect.

*Story*
I enjoyed the main story line centering around the success/failure of Next In. This story line had some unexpected twists and turns that had me anticipating what would happen. My guesses were definitely not all correct.

I didn't really enjoy the love story lines. I'm not into romance in general but I felt like there were too many relationship stories going on and there wasn't much detail about any of them

I did like how the characters ended up being connected. I thought some of the connections were unique and unexpected. All the characters were accounted for by the end of the drama and most loose ends were tied.

I wish there were a few more ending episodes that went into the future. The final episode felt a bit rushed; like the writers were just trying to tie up all the loose ends and finish.

*Characters*
Surprisingly, my favorite character ended up being Lee Jae Jin's character. I was not aware Lee Jae Jin was an FT Island member until the time of my writing this review. His character Kang Chan Soo has a bright personality and I really enjoyed that.

I wish more attention had been given to the supporting characters. I ended up liking them a lot and wanted to know more about them.

*Acting*
I thought Junmyeon/Suho did a great job acting. Viewers who aren't familiar with him may find the acting over-the-top, but Junmyeon is extremely polite and kind in reality, so it was interesting seeing him play a self-centered CEO who is constantly yelling.

I also enjoyed Ha Yeon Soo's acting. I'm not familiar with her works but I think it must be challenging to play a character who is so bright and optimistic all the time.

*Music*
My complaint about the music is that they played the same line from the song over and over again multiple times each episode. I understand that dramas have title tracks but I think it would've been nice to have more than one because I got really tired of hearing the same line.

ML was a huge red flag

There was for sure some kind of black magic used in the making of this drama. I disliked most everything about it (from the acting, to the plot, characters and music), and still, I found myself binging the whole thing.

Yoo Chan had the emotional intelligence of a rock and was pretty much a walking red flag. He always resorted to emotionally and verbally bullying those around him, and especially the FL. The fact that he pretty much only dated one girl during the whole drama, and she wasn't the FL has to be one of the oddest things I've seen in any romance, ever.

Bo Ra being nicknamed "idiot" by Yoo Chan was mean, but also highly accurate. She had a good heart, but often behaved in moronic ways.

The OST was a cheese fest and I'm happy I'll never have to listen to those songs again. Or the clicking of soles over those unusually loud floors! Never had I come across a show with floors as loud as the ones here.

The prosopagnosia played no role at all, aside from creating an insignificant amount of silly drama and was magically resolved, almost as an afterthought.

The drama was half the ML getting over his unresolved feelings over the disappearance of his first love (the mystery was what kept me hooked during those first few episodes), and half IT/business mumbo-jumbo with some out-of-nowhere, utterly out-of-character betrayal to spice things up.

Honestly, the only character whose story I enjoyed was Do Jin. He was the most fun and interesting.

I rode the hype train with this drama. The prospect of it being another great find was pretty high... Until the longer I watched it.

The drama starts off quite strong and alluring. It had me interested and excited for the next episode! But somewhere along the line it loses its spark. It dries up and each new episode feels "Just keep watching, something good might happen, or some twist!" To my dismay I clung to false hope right up until Episode 16 ended.

They say synergy between actors makes or breaks the show. I found this very evident in this series, although the actors alone seemed great, their synergy between each other was very awkward and stiff. The humor was lackluster and the emotions... it was not relatable. I felt they struggled to convey feelings: Love, sadness, happiness(Laughter, the laughter in this was INCREDIBLY forced).
Overall it was "NICE" to watch, but left me feeling void of anything, not happiness nor sadness. Just feeling "Ok. Next drama!"

I've picked up this drama because I'm a huge Suho fan and I had to watch it. However, my review will be bias free and I'll try to keep it objective. So, first of all, I have not watched the japanese original one, so I can't say if this is better or not. But I did enjoyed some parts of this drama. Some scenes were cute and funny. But, I did not like the story line, as it was kind of messy. Aslo, the romance was weak. I mean, the lead had more kissing scenes with the second lead lady than with the leading lady. I guess, the drama focused more on the company, on the friendship, the past mystery, which wasn't that big, the development of the main character, and left everything else out until the very last episode. There were some sparks here and there, but the love story was very spread out. Aslo, I didn't like that sometimes the acting was a big too forced, like overacting. But that was the case for a few scenes, so I can overlook it overall.
Summing up, Rich man was an okay drama. It isn't a total wast of your time, just don't expect too much out of it.

As someone who hasn't watched the original Japanese drama, I feel that I can give a clear review without any comparison to the original (though I hear it is very good) and focus on this drama specifically.

"Rich man" is a perfect example of a drama which began with incredible potential, however, the plot dried up quickly and the writers struggled to fill the episodes with something entertaining for the viewers, so much so that it completely ruined what I believe could have been an actual good drama. However, there were other minor factors that come into play when considering what exactly made this drama flop.

I have been following this drama since the first episode came out. I was excited to see Suho's acting skills shine and I must say that the drama started off absolutely fantastically. However, as it began to proceed, my Wednesday and Thursday evenings had turned into a chore to watch this rather than actual drama (which it shouldn't be, just stop and do your homework lmao).

Before I get into the depths of my review of why the writers completely failed with Rich man, I want to take a consideration a minor factor which did contribute in some ways. It is important to take into consideration, that Suho is an idol, not an actor, but as much as I love him, the reality is is that he is not experienced enough in acting to pull this off. No one appears to mention this because they don't want to offend their oppa but it is important to note.

You probably wonder why I continued watching this drama until the very end if I clearly disliked it so much - I have two reasons for this.

1. My desire for Bora and Yoochan to get together

Perhaps what put me off this drama was Yoochan's character in general. I had first thought he was a decent enough guy but as the drama proceeded I began to grow tired of his immaturity, especially in his attitude towards work and Bora, to the point where if anyone mentioned the words 'Big File' I felt myself about to have a seizure. In contrast, I enjoyed Bora's character, even if she could frustrate me at times with her solemn adoration for Yoochan. With Min Tae Ra in the way nothing was proceeding in the main two's relationship - but this want for them to get together made me pursue this drama until the end; disregarding the fact that I had skipped the majority of each episode (lol).

2. The side characters and their romances

Possibly what I adored most, was the story of Taera and the painter (who I have forgotten the name of..). Their story together was so refreshing and I enjoyed their encounters with each other. I am grateful that the writers ended their story on such a high note, of them travelling to Venice together, but not so much so that we got a kiss scene. Along with the other side romances, seeing these characters be happy, really made my heart warm; especially considering that I am not usually a big fan of the side characters and their romances in dramas.

Overall, there is one word that's sums up this entire drama for me - disappointing'.

This one I really enjoyed, as it drew me in with it's characters and story. Going into this one I did not know a single thing about any of the actors or story, but it kept my attention anyway.

The Female Lead was so cute, like impossibly cute. Everytime she would smile, I couldn't help but be drawn in. She could easily seduce anyone with her cuteness. The Male lead was pretty good as well, I found him enjoyable to watch and believable.

The story really kept me guessing, as characters acted in a way I didn't expect but, it was believable at the same time. I would call something about to happen, but then it didn't. Whether that's good or bad, who knows.

The only downsides to this drama that kept it from getting a better score are two things.

1. The romance is very lacking. While there are snippits towards the second half of the male lead gaining feelings. It isn't towards the end where things actually progress which is very annoying.

2. The second downside was that the ending was really rushed. A lot of storylines where just finished in a very quick montagey way in the last episode. While I appreciate finishing loose ends, I feel like it detracts from the impact of the storylines.

Overall this was a really great drama, but if you are only looking for a really good romance to swoon over, this is not it.

I don't get the bad reviews. This was a corporate story about personal growth that was interesting and well acted every episode. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend you watch it. It was really a very loving story between all the characters. There was nothing I disliked about it. The male lead was a nerd. He had no interpersonal skills but was willing to learn. The other characters cared deeply about each other and were just trying to make their own way in the world in a very competitive business environment.

*EDIT*: THIS IS MY OVERALL REVIEW of the 6 episode, so 1/3 of drama, as I'm dropping it this is why I posted a overall review and not on episodes review
When you write a review you are asked "How Many Episodes Of "Rich Man" Have You Seen?", obviously if you want review one episode, it's the best if you can do it on "Review Episode" section, but as I'm drooping the drama, I don't think it's wrong to write my review here.

As you can see with my list on my profil, I'm not really someone who will stop a drama, even if I don't like it but here....

I just saw the available episodes of Rich Man ... (aka the Korean version of Rich Man, Poor Woman) sorry but I find it so average ^^ " (and I'm nice with 'average')
Already it inflates me that someone decided to remove the feminine part of the title ..
but it's not new in the industry.

The problem is that the whole thing lack of charisma and charm, so if you still have the original in mind .. difficult not to make comparisons. And even if you don't want make comparisons, you just can't help but point what is wrong with this version.
I'm someone who is completely ok with 10 versions of the same story, I did like almost all versions of Hana Yori Dango and even can't wait for the Chinese version.

What was good with the original is that the concept of the company was credible. We were at the beginning of the era of smartphones and applications etc it was interesting to follow, there I feel that they are obliged to do + and too much to convince us .

The main character that is normally complex, is here boring as boring can be. The main character in the original version was sometimes unfriendly, but he also has that hardworking side, eager for new things for his company that make him someone we want to follow, but also a leader that his employees want to follow.
Outside I think that Suho, as an actor, does not have the talent yet to bring this complexity for us, to show this range of emotions (at least for the episodes I saw).

For the female character, she is normally a gimp in her actions, but not fragile or bland, on the contrary, she is the one who leads "the dance" normally. And as always in Korea, they just cut the best part of her.

So I find myself in front of a drama where I do not really want to follow the work side around the company, and where I find the main couple not credible.

I'm sorry for this bad review, it's not my style to do this, but I just can't help it here.
The only thing I have to add is just go watch the original Rich Man, Poor Woman.

*EDIT*: THIS IS MY OVERALL REVIEW of the 6 episode, so 1/3 of drama, as I'm dropping it this is why I posted a overall review.

Too good , really too good...Starting too end too good , everythingis just perfectly executed. So much different type of emotions ,feelings ,attitude had seen in the drama. suho character's was a person who had so much confidence towards his knowledge and experience that he seen nothing in anybody ,, for him everything is just him .Me ,Mine and Myself that's it .He has such behaviour or can say such attitude because of his part to whom he trust and love had abandoned him .So slowly and slowly he looses trust on person and because of this he develop a disability in which he enable to recognize the face but after someyears he met Mr vice president , he started trust on him but again because of his attitude of Me,Mine and Myself one ..without knowing he hurt him ,if something happen wrong in the company he took all the responsibility and forget that Mr. VP and MR.CEO together build this company .At last both realize their mistake after loosing each other .Both are precious to each other. At last he able to recognize everybody because he started believing them.I like the mini love story of Sa do chan . . Amazing thought of story .

The one who is playing the role of Bo ra ,she is too good .what type of character Kim Bo ra is her expressions tells everything ,she is intelligent ,honest, simple, cute, easygoing.when need she is tough ,never give up ,always cheer herself ,enough confident .she is doing acting in a way that it seems like Bo ra is a real person .Same with Suho ,his expressions truly expressed what type of person Yoo Chan is ,arrogant, rude, handsome, smart, stubborn but from inside soft .His look is decent but full of attitude .
The one who loose everything and had no hope of further and doing activity lazily , carelessly and leaving everything in the lap of god ,all sort of expressions and attitude is perfectly coming out from suho part.

Last part of 1st episode touch me a lot and when she introduced her to him by saying her name ,the name he is looking for a long time after hearing the expression and background music , are just perfect .then I like to say all the view which shown in the drama House view, office view, church view and city view so beautiful.

Hats off to the writer to bring IT CONCEPT in drama without any flaws totally looking like a IT company and working environment ,Suho acting at some point amazed me a lot ,he is really look like a programmer when he play with the keyboard .

I enjoy the background music ,sound and songs which are perfectly suited with the situation and because of those sounds it gave more effect to the drama and connected us too much with those situation . I love this drama a lot at the same time feeling bad to know it is get over.

I just want you,I just want your love ..Happy ending yeepee

Except two three episodes ,I always had a smile on my face .....Bravo ....Too good ......Efforts work ..Worth watching this drama not at all boring ....Ending is just perfect .
