watching it was pretty fun

so let's be honest, it was what you call a nice "cute" show that one would like watching after some serious dramas which have left your heart and head not wanting to watch anything serious directly after it
the show was exactly that case for me, it was simply light and had moments that made my heart flutter a lot without really stressing me out thinking what is gonna happen next and if something dramatic or serious is gonna happen
ACTING AND CAST
now how so ever the story is the casting has to be perfect to make the show a success, according to me the cast was very wisely chosen!
our male lead aka Han Shangyan was shown as the ice king and it was portrayed well by Li Xian.. there wasn't any overacting and what is common in many actors who are unable to play such roles well is that they just act like a stone and think that it is perfect for portraying the role, but not in this case Li Xian brought the role to life..yes it has cold moments but has equally vulnerable moments too that makes the one watching it get attached to the character and helps in learning about the part in dept.
for the female lead i thing Yang Zi was a perfect match too..falling for the ice king at first glance she is initially shown as a very cute and infatuated girl but her character evolves throughout the show when she is trying to understand Han Shangyan better and be a support for him..and the chemistry between them is too cute to handle!
i found all the cast being well placed with the whole setup balancing every element and not being unnecessary in any part! they all were major points that made the show come alive
MUSIC
okay so i am a music lover and i don't have much chinese dramas in my list where i liked the music much but yes this drama's music was good!! i especially love the song "couldn't leave" it's in english but it being played with some serious scene going side by side was just perfect and the lyrics are really good
do watch it if you are in mood for some cute romance without unnecessary drama:)

Love O2O feels

This is probably going to become a cdrama classic. Brings back memories from love o2o, it has the same feels though the characters are largely different. Glad they didn't go too much into the technical aspects of the gaming, but rather focused on the relationships built through it. I really like the FL's character, straightforward and to the point, capable and independent. The KK boys are adorable as well!

Yang Zi is a great actress, so is Li Xian.

The OST is really nice, especially the title and ending songs.

This drama is going to stick for a long time.

I thought a lot about how I felt about this drama. The drama was a slow start for me. I started it when it first came out but stopped. After a couple months, I came back to watch and binged it. It starts to pick up definitely episode 5.

First off, the growth you see in the main couple’s relationship and the growth with themselves is probably my favorite thing from this drama. You can really see shangyan change through the drama and you can see its not an all of a sudden transformation.

Second, the supporting roles were the humor of the show and without them I don’t think I would have made it through the show. All of K&K brought the humor and lightened up the show when we need it. Demo, Grunt, and 97 were definitely my favorite characters out of everyone and you rarely saw them which says something!

Some parts of the story seemed so unnecessary. Nian is a singer and sings online, the show is literally named after her online handle but its barely talked about. There goes episodes where they don't mention it then suddenly there is a reference to it and then its just like “oh yeah she can sing”. The side stories were definitely hit or miss with me too.

Overall, the drama is very long but the humor of those boys and the cuteness of the main couple is what would make me go back. It’s not something where I would go purposely looking for but if it had been a couple months and was searching for something to watch, I might go back to watch it.

For me, a good romantic drama is greatly influenced by how good the character of the male lead is, and Han Shangyan is absolutely a perfect 10. Sure, he was an asshole at first but he quickly redeemed himself and turned into the most adorable of boyfriends. Tong Nian on the other hand is the epitome of cuteness, no wonder just about every character is smitten by her. They are sooooo cute together and God knows how many times I've replayed their sweet moments.
The story is simple, straightforward and no dull moment, before you know it, you're on the last episode! One thing i dislike though is the involvement of c-parents with their children's lovelife, I noticed it too from other c-dramas (maybe it's their culture), but apart from that, I absolutely love this drama!

I've been wanting to watch this drama for a long time, but because there are so many episodes, I always put it off because I'm lazy to spend a lot of time finishing it. And finally last weekend I started watching it because I was so bored. As a result, in 3 days I was able to finish 41 episodes. Lol. What have I been doing all this time?

This drama is very interesting. The story is good, although it could actually be shortened, but that's okay. And also even though there are many plots that don't make sense, but enough to feed my hallucinations. This drama is suitable if you need a romantic story that is light, entertaining, and not dragging. The story warms my heart. Ah, one thing that is quite disturbing is too many flashback stories in the middle. I often skip when flashback stories appear.

The chemistry between ML and FL is very good and strong. Their characters complement each other. I think it's okay to have a 10 year age gap, that's quite natural. Which makes me still a little less accepting, I think FL is too young to get married, and also they haven't known each other long enough. She is still very young, very smart because at the age of 20 she already got a master's degree. The story would be more acceptable if they enjoyed dating and got to know each other a little longer, because it's okay for a man to marry late.

The supporting side story is also very entertaining. I like all the supporting players. I really like the love story between Mi Shaofei and Sun Yaya, they are very cute and adorable. Their characters are also quite strong. The K&K club members are also funny, I always laugh at their silliness.

I'm quite regret that I just watched this drama now but I'm really happy because this story really cheers me up in the midst of busy work.

Sugar Overload!

I may not have the words to accurately describe the magic that was Go Go Squid! I loooved this show...evidenced by the fact that I breezed through all 41 episodes and didn't want it to end. I avoid long dramas like the plague but this...one...this one had me.

I managed to watch GGS after one failed attempt, like many other people, I took a peek, thought the lead was not as handsome and too cold. Boy, was I in for a surprise! I am 100000% head over heels in love with Han Shangyan and can't imagine anyone else but Li Xian pulling off that role. It was amazing to watch him fall in love with our Little Squid. Yang Zi as Nian Nian was phenomenal and has cemented her as one of my absolute favourite actresses. Together, these two had explosive chemistry.... couldn't get enough of them. I think I'll always have the image of Nian shouting Han Shangyaaaaaaaan! and jumping him......sooooooo cuuuuuute.

I just had a problem with the fact that HS hurt Nian Nian so badly and she didn't get a proper explanation for that. It was also difficult to stomach the lying. Still, the characters were both imperfect and completely understanding of each other's shortcomings. Ultimately, they were relatable; it made sense that they were meant for each other.

I love when I leave a drama having learnt a lot of new things about sth I never knew about. GGS introduced the CTF world and blended it so seamlessly into the plot. The whole show was so incredibly balanced with all the characters feeding into the main story. At first, I thought, there were too many and the flashbacks too long but it was essential to get that proper understanding about Team Solo and the birth of K&K. I grew and learnt with all these guys and just adored the K&K gang.

I think the memory of Go Go Squid! will always make me smile. One of my all-time favourites.

Wonderful, feel good series

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. I usually binge through series so 41 episodes can really be taxing and pacing problems are more glaring compared to watching in bite-sized episodes. However, this drama is well-paced, I never felt bored, I only skipped 3 times (for flashbacks that have been replayed thrice), and kept asking for more. I am a fan of tsundere tropes, with my favorite being ISWAK. I am aware of ISWAK's problematic story so I had reservations with this drama, fearing that it will characterize FL as the perpetual victim of the ML. I'm ecstatic to be proven wrong. It's a pleasure to watch both of the parties grow together, with the ML acknowledging his own shortcomings and changing not only for his love interest but to other people as well (as opposed to continuing being a prick like it's some personality quirk). The FL gaining confidence in her own communication skills and voicing her opinions steadfastly despite the age difference, and even offering to support both of them. I just wish there were more opportunities to show Tong Nian dominating her field, though! Finally, I appreciate the fact that they are developing to be more equal in the relationship instead of continuing the domineering trope until the end. :)

My only qualm are the cast inconsistencies. Sometimes, missing cast members are very noticeable due to a situation that would obviously call for the members, especially Wu Bai. There are a lot of parts in the story that would call for Wu Bai, but he wasn't there. I'm not entirely familiar with the Chinese drama landscape though.

Anyway, this series isn't perfect, yes, but it's feel good, well-paced, and very "kilig" (giddy, sweet). I have been smiling randomly like an idiot whenever I remember any of the scenes. I recommend this whole-heartedly!

Cute story

This was an enjoyable, cute story. There wasn't a character that I really disliked and the OST was also pretty good.

Would I recommend it? Weeeell.... I'm not mad that I watched it, but I have a lot of spare time. If I had limited time to watch dramas and I couldn't watch something else because I chose this story, then I'd maybe be unhappy.

41 episodes are way to much. There were way to many unnecessary repeated scenes and filler. Only Charles Dickens should be paid per word. It would have been much better if it was 20 episodes at most. I had very little interest in the history of Team Solo, but that's just me and therefore I don't even include this as filler. Of the 27 hours I probably fast forwarded 10 hours.

I personally also really disliked the clothes and hair style of the FL. This is obviously very subjective, but I kept wondering "what is she wearing, and why?" Her her was cut unevenly and her clothes made no sense. This would usually not bother me, but her clothes were really weird.

The actress also apparently has never kissed someone or seen someone being kissed. Her lips literally didn't change position from being in a normal relaxed state to kissing. Initially I thought it was to show her innocence (although the ML was also innocent, yet he could kiss), but this didn't get better. The ML could have kissed a wall or a door for all the reaction he got from her. It brought the romance of the story from 10 to 7.

It has very little re-watch value for me since I really enjoyed less than 40% of the story. If someone edits it down to 10 hours I would watch it again in a heartbeat. So try this if you love C-dramas, you have a lot of time to spare OR you really have nothing else to watch.

Very good TV drama

I like this TV drama,, very touching. Watched few times already. All actors and actresses were acting well. Especially like actor Lee Hong-Chi‘s accent, even I do not totally understand all, but like it. Actress Andy Yang, is lovely; a truly child genes.

Wish there are more TV drama like this one. During this crazy COVID time, a good TV drama helps people who is working at home to spend their free time after work at home and unable to go outside.

Wish all chinese drama will have an England Sub, help those people, who likes TV drama but unable to understand Chinese, still enjoy watching it.

I've never been a fan of Yang Zi and it took me a long time to give this drama a chance. I ended up loving the cast, both the romance and the friendship between the different characters. However, "Go Go Squid!" could have been a lot better if the hours of flashback scenes were condensed. They took too much time during the first half of the drama, and all that angst didn't really pay off. Even if the past of Team Solo had to be explained and was important to this, the heart of the story was the present of K&K and the relationship between Tong Nian and ShangYan, all those flashbacks especially during the first 14 episodes could discurage anyone from keeping on watching.
If you have the patience, however, the story only gets better with time. The boys in K&K will catch your heart, Yang Zi and Li Xian are adorable in together, and the family relationships (Solo and his daughter, Tong Nian's family, ShangYan, Wu Bai and grandpa) will keep you with a smile in the face.

If it wasn't because of the trailer in YouTube, I wouldn't have taken notice of this drama. I must say for a weird-name drama, the plot is actually very good. I watched it with no expectation but it blew me away. I was initially put off by the stalking and non-opinionated FL but the chemistry between the leads made up for it. The sweet scenes and conversations is something I look forward to every episode. It is real and not OTT,just nice to give you butterflies in your tummy.

I must also say they did a good job in highlighting the BTS of the e-sports industry. The adrenaline rush in and between competitions in the drama are really intense and realistic. Not only that, it highlights the family and comrade-hood spirit that is very heartwarming to watch.
