Anyways... this movie is just pure amazing! It seems cliche how the Kenji uses Athena to make his EX-GF Athena (a girl with the same name lol) jealous with the nerdy girl. Despite the cliche story, its actually surprising how it all turns out. The twists it had at the end just made me bawl my eyes out!!!
I had been a bit stressed from school and I DECIDED to watch the movie (bc you know netflix likes to take down stuff and add... so I wanted to see it before it happened.) The movie just broke my heart in half and I couldn't stop crying when it got towards the end.. man.... those tears wouldn't stop flowing down my cheek! I could be over dramatic right now.. but this may seem your typical love story... (yes it is...) but the way it happens is just... "wow.... I wasn't expecting that..."
When you (telling the person reading this..) have a CHANCE.... WATCH IT!!.... also keep a box of tissues near by.. I don't wanna spoil anything bc it ruins the whole point....

This is a cute little movie that will make you smile and laugh and maybe squeal a little at the adorableness. I liked the past-day couple more than the present-day couple, mainly because we spend so little time with our present-day couple getting to know them and I have a soft-spot for innocent teen romance stories, but both couples are pretty easy to root for. I also didn’t find the dramatic bits of the story, the secondary female leads illness/the subsequent break up of the past-couple’s relationship/the eventual reunion of the past-couple as adults, all that compelling or interesting, because I honestly just wanted to see them together when they were young, but this isn’t a movie requiring a lot of investment/commitment to that part of the plot, so it’s not too hard to overlook. At the end of the day, this movie is meant to be fluffy and fun and easy to watch, and it succeeds in every respect. Was this review helpful to you?
Basic youth rom-com lacking in a lot of ways...
The movie is a basic rom-com starting though with an interesting and quite refreshing concept, the love story happening in the 90's and being told in the present through the perspectives of other characters.However, the plot was too soapy for me, especially in the last third of the picture with some non-sensical plot lines. It was really difficult to be invested in the romance which did not start on healthy basis and was full of already overused tropes.
Given the title, I was especting some real gangster vibe from the male lead, but it was not believable and more absurd than anything else. Overall, the performance of the actors was average at best but I'm not sure if the blame is on them or rather on the storylines making it very difficult for their acting to be taken seriously.
Production value and OST had nothing special going for them. It could have been so much better in terms of dialog, realisation and story...
I would not recommend this to people. There are much better youth romance movies than this one.

I bawled my friggin eyes out.
First of all, I just saw this in tiktok and I was running out of things to watch so I rewatched it. I remember watching this as a kid and skipping parts of it because I wasn't that interested enough. But well, I regretted that. This movie has one of the best stories and plot oh my gosh it made me cry so much! It is written so good, kudos to the writer! I bawled my eyes out and till now I still can't accept that I finished it already, I want a part two but where would the story go, right?The acting on the other hand is also so good! Especially kathryn, she is hand down so into character, daniel too– actually the whole cast is good. I now want to watch more of their movies.
The music was good too, i don't know how to explain it but the song adds to the emotion like it makes me wanna cry more lol
I deducted a 0.5 on rewatch value because I probably wouldn't wanna rewatch this because I don't want to cry again, but if I feel like crying I would definetely rewatch this. This is probably one of my favorite movies from now on, thank you tiktok! This is a golden movie if u know what I mean.
Overall 10/10!! would definetely recommend you watching this, just make sure to prepare a tissue box beside you.

She was his greatest Love
This is my first Filipino Movie. Well the storyline was really unexpected. I literally didn't think it would be like this. This movie has something really special about itself. The story was somehow new and different.STORY
About the sudden but great love story of Kenji and Athena. Athena Abigail was diagnosed with a disease and was dying. So Abigail break up with Kenji. Kenji doesn't wanna let her go so he fake dates with the same named girl Athena. She was a heart patient. While fake dating Kenji and Athena falls in love but Abigail couldn't bear the pain of her broken heart anymore. Kenji finds out the true about Abigail so both Athena and Kenji decides that Kenji should stay with Abigail. Years later because of Kelay and Ken they were reunited.

Way more than a cheezy silly rom-com
I first saw a clip of this movie on TikTok and I'm a big fan of funny rom-coms so I had to watch it. I cried, laughed, and blushed while watching this movie. This was also my first Filipino movie ever and one ill remember for a long time.I loved all the characters equally. Don't get me started on the main couple, they are SOOOOO cute together and their chemistry is immaculate. But not all dramas are rainbows and butterflies. As I said I cried while watching this. Now I don't mean just a couple of tears, I mean a whole river. I never knew something so small could become so big and affect me so deeply.
In all, this movie was more than amazing, it gave me all these different emotions. My new favorite comfort movie.

Brilliant movie!
I didn't expect this movie to be so good! The story was a great idea, not unique though.What I liked the most was how the past main lead was refered to as a gangster, but in reality he was so nice, thoughtful, pure-hearted and cute. He was a nice guy. Female lead from the past was a hidden gem really. She was so kind-hearted, cute and loving. Both of them were amazing. They were so perfect for each other. I loved watching them together! I was really happy when what I expected happened; the pretend couple became a real one. But then came the cheesy weird break up. I don't understand it. Three people became not so happy in their life after that. I don't say that this isn't happening in real life, but this selflessness which makes people unhappy for years is just stupid.
Now, what I have to say about the present couple is that I liked the whole idea of getting to know each other through exploring an old love story. I liked how they came closer. They were cute too. Male lead was a little like his father, who seemed like a "gangster" but he was not. We didn't have the chance to know them better, however I don't think this was bad, because the story focused on the past couple.
The ending was good in my opinion. The past couple did what they wanted the most ; to say goodbye to each other properly, so they closed the circle of their relationship and the present couple opened their own circle focusing on themselves rather than their family members.
The only thing that really bothers me with the movie was the constant change from filipino to english language, even in the same sentence!
Overall, you should definitely watch this movie! It worths your time!

Me sorpendio
Esta película parece ser muy cliché por el nombre y lo es, aunque mejor desarrollada.Se me hizo genial que mostraran las dos vidas, dos épocas, dos versiones de la historia. Además de que es una película muy cómica; es atrapante, quería saber que sucedería y como terminaría.
No se me hizo toxica como otras películas con clichés y trama similares, aunque hay acciones cuestionables, se les da un buen cambio de actitud y gran desarrollo a los personajes.
Es la primera vez que veo una película de filipinas, la verdad, estoy gratamente sorprendida. Con esta película creo que les daré oportunidades a mas producciones filipinas.
