The Cloud Recesses begins the offering ceremony in which all the clans are required to introduce themselves to teacher Lan Qi Ren with gifts. During Nie sect Meng Yao's introduction, two disciples begin to gossip about him being the illegitimate son of Jin Guang Shan. Lan Xi Chen then approaches Meng Yao to praise his talent and choice of present. Then, the Wen sect arrives at the Cloud Recesses and barges into the classroom in the middle of Jiang Cheng's introduction. Wei Wu Xian hates Wen Chao's arrogant behavior and a fight almost breaks out, causing the other disciples to also unsheathe their swords. Lan Xi Chen stops the fight with his Lie Bing flute. After, in Lan Qi Ren's room, Lan Xi Chen raises his concern over Wen sect's sudden infiltration and their connection with the mysterious puppets. After the meeting, Lan Xi Chen meets Meng Yao who is waiting to say his goodbyes. Though Lan Xi Chen wishes for him to stay, Meng Yao is only a guest and not a student. When Wei Wu Xian and Nie Huai Sang are catching fishes in the back mountains, Wei Wu Xian finds Wen Qing lurking around and finds it suspicious. The next day, classes have officially begun. Wei Wu Xian's rebellious behavior in class causes Lan Qi Ren to quiz him a series of questions. However, despite his intelligence, his solution of using the forbidden demonic cultivation angers Lan Qi Ren and he is sent out of class. Wei Wu Xian then finds Wen Ning who is practicing archery and gives him guidance. When he sees Wen Qing loitering around the mountains once again, he goes to investigate out of curiosity but is caught by Lan Wang Ji. (Source: Wikipedia)
