It was going well, until the end...

I was enjoying this light heart drama, it was truly very sweet and the pace was pretty good.

The chemistry was good, the story was good, and the acting was good.

The best friend/second couple, i really loved how that played out, it was unexpected, but they did a great job with the decision the best friend made, it was rational and she placed her happiness, pride, feelings and heart above anything else and got the happiness she deserved instead of waiting for something toxic.

While watching this i kept wondering why the reviews score was a 7.9, i kept thinking that does not give it justice, until the last 2 episode. I just finished watching it, so this is fresh off my thoughts. Everything was going well until the female lead got a phone call saying the ML is giving up his dreams for hers or whatever, i did not like that, but i kind of let it go, FL started thinking about it and had a convo with ML kind of about it, but never mention about the phone call. She then got another call, this one worse than the first and i was sooo upset about it, to make it worse she made certain decisions after that and this for me ruined the drama.

This is why, the ML is a cold man as they mentioned, but he had already told the FL earlier and before they officially started dating that no one can make him do what he does not want too, actually FL is the first to even mention that, as that's what she knows about him, that he doesn't let anyone influence what he wants or don't want... so can someone tell me why she thinks him going to Japan with her isn't his own decision?? And then the fact that that rude phone call wasn't addressed, like i was so upset because of that. She knew him well enough before they started dating and all of a sudden, its like she doesn't know his personality. What she ended up doing, was forcing him to do something he did not want to do. She should have understood him, especially after having a similar convo with him mom prior about those type of decisions, to be this is what made this lose some stars.

Then, the last scene or the ending was just blah... it really was a good lighthearted drama, but would have gotten a 9.5 in my books based solely on it being light hearted and good. But the ending just didn't do it justice.

All in all, it's a good watch.

At the beginning, I really enjoy this drama. It’s really funny to see two people with an opposite character and didn’t like each other must work together. As a couple too! I love how the cold man like Ye Shu Wei meet a cheerful and free-spirit girl like Bei Er Duo. Even he is told to be a cold man, but inside he is caring enough towards Bei Er Duo. Their process to know and make peace with another is smooth and sweet enough.

Like another drama, there’s a second couple too in this drama, but unexpectedly the second couple not a second male lead with a second female lead. A second female lead meet another man in the middle of the series and they live happily ever after. I like this kind of unexpected plot.

The conflict is about how you reach your dream. How the male and female lead compromised with other party’s dream. The peak conflict is on the ending second last episode and mainly at the last episode (that’s why I postponed watching the last episode (//ω//)

The things makes me quite down and didn’t really enjoy the drama are :
1. The way Ye Shu Wei play the violin! I’m not the violinist, but I know that the gesture and the tempo he made when playing the violin is not related with the songs played in the background. I thought it will be better if they didn’t play the background sound at all, or shoot the cast from afar, so the gesture won’t be seen clearly. Since the drama already aired and nothing I can do, I watched those scene with muted sound (⌒_⌒;)
2. They dubbed Bei Er Duo when she speak Japanese! In the last episode, Bei Er Duo who told work at Japanese Restaurant in Japan, talk to one of her customer in Japanese, but it’s just what the dubber do, Zhao Lu Si is still speak in Chinese. It’s indeed just for a several minutes, but it’s simply annoyed me.
3. The voice who dubbed Zhao Lu Si kinda annoys me, she's seems didn't put any emotion to her conversation.

All the casts are doing great. They act naturally and delivered the character’s soul perfectly.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this romantic drama. At first I wasn't sure because the plot was cliched. The arrogant, cold, rich, handsome young man (Ye Shuwei) is forced to help out a girl (Bei Erduo) he doesn't necessarily care for, while the girl thinks she has no choice but accept the help of said arrogant jerk--all the while throwing shade behind his back. Our hero is so cold that I felt turned off by his attitude and wondered whether I would enjoy this drama. However, as he allows Erduo into his life and into his heart, his cold exterior begins to dethaw and we see the warm, loyal person within.

The supporting cast was very strong in this drama and that is a plus. I loved Lizi, Erduo's long suffering best friend. She is a hard worker who enlists Erduo's help to make her show the success it needs to be. She is tough, resilient and totally in control. Her storyline is heartbreaking as it is engaging. I found myself rooting for her just as much as Erduo. She is a fine actress. I really enjoyed the performances of all the actors.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the writing in this drama. Even though the couple is young and the drama geared for a more youthful audience, their relationship is very mature. As a couple, Bei Erduo and Ye Shuwei brought out the best in each other. There was no bratty, self absorbed behavior between them. They truly understood each other and did their best to treat each other with respect. The chemistry between these two was phenomenal. They trusted each other and it showed. Everyone did a great job and turned a show with a cliched plot into a sweet, endearing love story.

Love the series!

Yet another series of Zhao Lusi! Although this is relatively short, I find this series quite interesting, not too much drama, cute and fun to watch. Yes, the male lead definitely did a great job of portraying the lead character, sometimes I even feel like taking his head and smacking it for him being completely dense ^^ but hey, there are some people who really are that lack of emotions and react the same way as the Male lead role. The music - as a music lover and pianist myself - is beautiful. I really love those little violin parts inside. The starting theme is awesome also. Is it worth a watch? Yes, I would say so. Is it rewatchable worth? Well, this one is very subjective. Some would say no, some would say yes. I would say.... depends on how you feel about the series after watching it for the first time. But it is definitely not something boorish or dull. Besides, "One man's meat is another man's poison".

Not as good as I was expecting

Honestly i had more expectations as Both male and female lead was one of my favourite individually..
And of course as a Netflix series i thought it would be much more Thoughtful..

FIRSTLY The most annoying thing was 1st few episode for me.. Because i couldn’t understand why the supporting leads has more scene than main leads.. I found that 1st 10 episode is full of 2nd leads scene.. So it was irritating for me as i came for Main leads.
SECONDLY i found some scenes which has no proper ending.. So it was hard to get it..
Because i couldn’t get what exactly happend..

BUT last few episode was quite satisfying.. I found a average storyline in last few episode.. And the ending was quite satisfying... But it was not as good as i was thinking..
But i personal Won't recommend others.. Because i think there are many many beautiful dramas than this..
But honestly i didn’t regret watching..
So If anyone want to watch.. Then they can..

I hear you

There were lots of moments in the story I was not a fan of the interactions of the FL main character. I felt she was missing character development. I understand that this is first love, but I could see and even enjoyed the growth of the dry, stern ML to his willingness to be vulnerable and show emotion. Even though the FL lead was the friendlier character of the two, I felt she never warmed up or grew when it came to their relationship.

When it came to her interaction with him, she actually seem as though she was not willing. There were moments where she did, the female banter of wanting to understand whether or not he liked her and wanting to express her self yet they never develop the character to show that. The handful of times that they had the moment of that special moment, she completely ruined it. No one is that shy I felt they took it just a little bit too far at some point she should’ve had a little bit of warming to him and she never did.

It was literally the very last moment when she decided to break up with him and not even tell him why, all of a sudden she wanted to be passionate towards him. Personally, I found that rather confusing it made no sense to write the character that way. Did she not like him? I did not like how at no point does she ever discuss anything with him. He asked her to tell him how she felt and there was nothing. Yet, she just made these decisions (in the name of love) that she thought she was in his best interest. If this is a love story, I felt it should’ve been developed into that. This felt like borderline like an unrequited love story all dressed up.

Our ML was clear, he was quite accomplished, and he said more than once all he needed was her why did they make her so dense? I am all for love and romance stories, and I am all for the sweet and an innocence but I do not like it when it’s taken to the point of just being silly. Running off in the airport having him sit there while his name is being called looking like he’s avoiding his flight never calling never texting never saying why. I just found it all plain rude, and then giving us only two minutes of you are my world, “THE END”. Yes, I can use my imagination as to what’s next it was a happy ending. Although, compared to the first 22 episodes that were pretty good storyline minus the confused emotionless growth of the FL. The last two could’ve been better. In my opinion, the last two did not meet the standard of the rest of the show.

Finally, a modern romance Chinese drama that I thoroughly enjoyed. There were still some unnecessary plots that didn’t work for me but the main leads had amazing chemistry. Look out for these two, definitely rising stars! Riley Wang did a great job which got me all interested now to watch his other dramas which I’m currently watching – Long For You and Long For You 2. If you like this actor, be sure to watch these 2 dramas.

As many reviewers had mentioned, the storyline is pretty simple. But there were a lot of cuteness between the leads that made the show work. Love the parts where they had emphasized the height differences in the main leads, the selfies scenes, the kissing scenes, etc. I like the fact that there was hardly any misunderstanding between the main leads which tends to happen in Chinese romance drama which drives me crazy. Ye Shu Wei character was well written. He comes across cold and arrogant but deep down he is a caring person and knows exactly what he wants in a woman. Love the last scene when he says “You are my dream”!

Beautiful show

This show has become one of my favorites. It’s easy to dislike the male lead at the beginning but as you keep watching you will find that you love this couple together.
It has cute funny moments. This show made me want to look up other shows with the leads in it. Riley Wang and Zhao Lusi did a great job bringing the show couple to life. I also like that male lead has to make the effort to be with the girl. In most dramas we see the girl falling head over heels for the the guy from the beginning, but in this one it happened for her over time. It was a nice change for a love story.

Beginning good, middle ok, ending suck

Watch this because intrique by the short scene YouTube fishing me & because Zhao Lu Si and Riley Wang. Long time I hesitate to watch this because of Riley Wang, not a fan of his work, I don't know he just give me sleepy impression when I watch him, his expression for me worse than Hu Yi Tian stone face. Sorry for his fans...

Got a warning when I start to watch this, s/he said a bad drama, should have listen. Haha... Cause it turn out I give even worse score than his/her.

Ok. Let's discuss the drama.

The drama at first actually kinda good, I plan to give it around 6-7 score. But the more toward the ending, the messier this drama become. And some weird plot that I can't ignore from the start make this drama even worse and worse....

The weird:
- Ye Shu Wei (SW) just willingly do everything from the beginning. Even considering his relationship with Yu Sheng (YS), it still doesn't make sense that he just willing to do everything.
- Everyone have no clear relationship from the begining. Like:
* Le Tian relationship with Bai Er Duo (ER). Like he just suddenly appear in SW house when they have live streamer & question ER everything.
* Tang Li (TL) and YS have one of the most unclear friendship in dramaland. People in my country called it 'Best friend act like girl/boy friend' or the English term more like friend with benefit. But instead TL make clear about their relationship, what she do just jealous and be a cranky girl if there's a woman who closer to YS.
* Even ER and SW relationship in the end also unclear...
- ER is one of the most have no principal girl. Like when she has to apologize in order to move to SW house, she angry but do it anyway.
- Many scene feel like they cut very roughly. Sometimes 1 scene to another doesn't makes sense. It feel like supposed to be another scene before that, but they decided heh it's not that important let us cut it & just stick next scene...
- The very rush ending. Ugh watch the ending makes me said, Heh!!!! How that happen, what happen, how can we go from here to there....Ugh really like they stick one scene to another, not the match kinda one...

But hey every drama has it's (+) poin. Here it is
The plus:
+ I really like how TL in the end stand up to her relationship with YS. & the regret in YS face really worth to be seen.
+ The 'stupid' decision ER take when she go to Japan. The speech ER give to SW is kinda special too...

Overall well if you are the fans of the actor/ess involved I think you can watch this, but if you just want drama to watch just pick another drama then...

I think this series has a lot of potential to grow more than it already has . I also loved how everything started , from the games to the emotional conceptions ... and that you can also feell a bit of reality in the plots ... like how bei erduo had to leave her lover back home to achieve her dream and let him do more with his work ... tbh when I think of this in real life I don't think I know many who would do the same ..... but main point is to say I support your hard work and Im hopeful that there will be a second season !! => <°_°>

This I what I would call a bubblegum drama, the romance between the leads goes from the “I can’t stand your ass” to “let’s get married” not that quickly actually. The last four episodes I believe is where the leads come together romantically (by free will not force fake dating). If you’re looking for something to watch when you have some free time or just want to watch something soft this is the perfect show. Also, the second lead couple has an interesting story as well. If you love women taking control of their love life and realizing they deserve better than the season lead romance is definitely for you. This drama was good. Everything 21st century but everything we love in dramaworld.

I’ve been wanting to watch this drama for a while because I really like both the ML and Fl. I thought it was going to be a fluffy rom com, but it was more about pursuing and fulfilling your career dreams. There were some cute moments between the leads, but then it tapered off and by episode 16, I realized they weren’t getting together any time soon. When they finally got together, I wasn’t sure if they actually did get together because they weren’t talking much and the FL was so unsure around the ML. I couldn’t tell until the last few episodes if she genuinely wanted to be in a relationship with him.

The last episode bothered me when the FL made a huge decision for the ML. This drama was big about making your own choices to pursue your dreams, whether in a relationship or in your career, yet the FL took that choice away from the ML. She let other people influence her and it wasn’t her decision to make as to what was supposedly good for him. The ending did make me happy although it was brief, it did end on a sweet note.
