From first minute to the last one. You just can't stop watching it and you keep wondering what happen next.
First time I saw so interesting plot. It's not typical love story. We can watch many of them. But here writer done well job. We can see the creativity and freshness and that's the most important. We all are great fans of dramas and asian movies but in fact after some time we started to be bored of the same patterns. In this case you won't feel like I can guarantee...
And hey i know what I'm writting :)
This movie is for everyone!
You like romantic movies?... Here U are but love is shown in specific way...
You like horror movies?... Well maybe it's not so scary but you will like it...
Movie is mixing this two kinds of films and adding a dose of humor.
So watch it and you will see why it is so good.

The story is super cute & super funny. They balence the light-hearted moments with the scary/serious moments well. There so many funny moments.
The characters were super fun to watch including the main lead's sister(I think). The female is just insecure about relationships becuase of her situation, but she starts to grow up and opening up the male lead. They have great chemistry.
The music fitted in with the mood, but it was not something I would listen to over and over again.
I would re-watch this drama because it is that awesome.
Overall, I definitly recommend this drama if you like Master's Sun becauase it has the same feel to it. If you like romantic-comedy, ghosts and the supernatual aspect and/or the actors/actresses, then this movie is for you.

There is two things I dont understand. One, Why can everyone see the ghosts? If everyone can see them then why do they only bother her? I understand why that one girl would haunt her but why everyone else?
I wish that she and the ghost haunting her would have had that final confrontation and settle their issues. It would have been better of an ending because this particular ghost will always interfere and in reality Yu-Ri will have to live everyday worrying about him being in danger because this ghost is determined to have YU-Ri be lonely. Can this story truly have a happy ending? Or even truly fight for it? He will always be in danger no other ghost has it out for him, just this one and so Yu-Ri will have to live with the guilt and he'll never blame her and will worry for her but really his life is ruined now and he might die. If he did, then that would hurt Yu-Ri more than any break up will. I'm sorry for being a downer but this is what came to mind. I would have loved to give this 10/10 this thought nags me which is why I couldn't give the .5 points.
Now on the lighter note, This movie had a lot of funny, scary, sweet moments. Yu-ri iis an absolutely lovely character and has great chemistry with the magician he works for who is in fact a great at what he does. I like that her weirdness sort of warms up his character and he became the loving person he never thought he could be. When they spend time together it feels real and you just could bubble up with how cute it is that love is blossoming. I also like her phone friends and a lot of it has to do with the fact that despite being alone she is not actually as lonely as she thinks. These girls are friends who actually really care and she hasnt even met one of them until the end....I dont think I even have friends like this and I kind of wish I did (sad i know).
Music was great and watch those credits! Absolutely hilariousxD

As usual, I was looking for a new Korean movie to watch, and Chilling Romance caught my attention. From reading the synopsis, I thought the story and characters sounded interesting. Then I went ahead and searched for more background and information. Let's just say that the dramalist rating set my hopes a little too high.
Storyline:
The storyline is quite original. To be honest, the beginning was bizarre. I didn't really know what to expect. However, about 20 minutes into the movie, I got the concept/feel of it. In a nutshell, Chilling Romance is a mix of horror/drama/romance/comedy. Quite a lot, eh? Sadly, it didn't meet my expectations on most of those categories listed. I thought they could have added more spice/excitement to each of the already captivating elements laid out in the movie, but I guess they preferred to stay on the safe side. They had a bit of everything, but the bits were very loosely handled.
Here are some of my thoughts on what Chilling Romance has to offer, yet lacks at the same time...
a) Mixed feelings on our OTP. It's weird how sometimes I thought they were ultimately adorable together, but sometimes I thought they were a bit awkward with each other. I guess their awkwardness is understandable, since Yeori is anti-social in some ways.
b) Sense of humor. I actually enjoyed some of the witty/funny conversations between the characters. I specifically thought some of Jo-Goo and Yeori's conversations were funny. Her friends were also funny (at times).
c) Supernatural/ghosts. I liked how they originally presented the idea to us, but it seemed like they sugarcoated the whole "horror" element (especially in the last magic trick). In other words, the ghosts felt out of place and were left unexplained in a lot of areas. At first, it was funny to watch Jo Goo's reaction to the "little kid". I thought they were going to play around with the comedy/horror aspect, but they went in a different direction. Moreover, it got to the point where I was questioning if some of these ghosts were really necessary at all.
d) Story all over the place. I felt like it tried too hard to be a bit of everything that it ended up not fulfilling/satiating anything at the end completely. It originally had several interesting aspects/themes, but it was unable to connect them altogether in a smoothly/properly fashion. Hence, a lot of parts felt random for me.
e) The ending. It was a little too clean/corny for me. It felt like an easy way out for the writers.
All in all, the storyline is definitely unique from the lot of Korean movies that I have watched. It had a great mix of many elements that a great movie should have, but the execution was done somewhere between poor and meh. I guess it's hard for a movie to pull off the horror, romance, and comedy altogether.
Acting/Cast:
Nothing outstanding from these characters and actors.
Though, I thought Lee Min Ki acted pretty naturally when it came to the funny scenes. It's my first time seeing him, and he's not a bad actor at all. His character, Jo Goo didn't have enough backbone (past stories/in-depth understanding), so I didn't really care for him all too much. I don't know what else to say about him from this movie, truthfully.
I fairly enjoyed Son Ye Jin, especially at the emotional scenes. The part where she was talking super fast over the phone to her friends was one of the more memorable ones from the movie, IMO. However, I personally don't find she's fit for a comedy movie/drama. The frog mimicking scene came off as too cutesy wannabe or forced for me. In general, Son Ye Jin doesn't seem natural in those the funny scenes. In any case, I prefer that she sticks to melodramas or more serious dramas/movies. She's definitely one of the more emotional/natural actresses when it comes to sad/crying scenes. I give her props for that.
Clearly, the whole movie focuses on our OTP. Like I typed previously, I fairly enjoyed some of their scenes. Do they have chemistry together? Sure, but it's nothing awe-worthy or new.
Music:
The OST was really soothing to the ears. I guess it caught me attention because I even went ahead to search for them. "Falling in Love" and the one from Jami Soul are both very soft and relaxing. They both totally remind me of songs that could be played in a comfortable/"home-feel" coffee shop - haha.
Bonus:
I liked the cinematography, especially the slow-motion part with the bus.
This probably doesn't fall under the bonus category, but Son Ye Jin looks mighty young and fine for her age - haha!
My favorite scene was where Jo-Goo performed a card trick in front of Yeori ^^.
Overall:
In conclusion, I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd liked to. It's definitely not a must watch movie.
Despite some cheesy romance and horror, I actually didn't mind the whole cheesiness factor. Though, I think the small/funny gestures and sense of humor from our OTP stands out the most.
Basically, it's a borderline of good/fine movie that could have been great if the elements worked out correctly. Perhaps, it could have worked out better if they had cut/crop out some elements altogether. Sometimes too many things in one isn't good because it's too hard to handle!
Overall rating for review: 5.5/10
Purely for entertainment: 6/10
My Dramalist rating (avg): 5.75/10

I do not think I had ever watched a live action that combined both horror and romance in a serious manner (for films such as Scream and Scary Movie do not count in my eyes). Spellbound did not disappoint in either genres; I mean it even had me in suspense of the plot after the disappointing turn around of the three way date. I found myself recalling “The Sixth Sense” movie which totally had me analysing both main actors as preparation of such plot twist. Thankfully they were both human, therefore able to die which was in turn played out (brief sadistic moment teehehehe).
CHARACTERS: 8.5/10
I added Spellbound on my to watch list due to the brief encounter of Lee Min Ki so I was anxious to watch him in something as a main lead which he totally delivered perfectly. The combination of a supernatural plot together with Lee Min Ki’s ghostly facial structure, he was the perfect candidate as lead.
ACTING: 9/10
And obviously let us not forget both Lee Min Ki and Son Ye Jin acting abilities are of actors that know how to lure their audience in (with compliments of a good script). Therefore, this movie was bound to captivate the view into a whirlwind of romantic hope with a hint of believable horror stunts/ graphics.
MUSIC: 6/10
I merely rate the music aspect pf the movie as a 6 not as a form of dislike but merely due to the fact that I was not provided enough to judge. I cannot really recall a moment of a song being played but they are moments where musical instruments are played which I believe were well placed for such scenes.
LIKED – Want I enjoyed the most and literally had me in stitches every time was Yoo Ri’s friend Min Jung (Son Ye Jin) and Yoo Ri getting drunk and ripping Jo Goo’s shirts (especially when he pulls out a spare one - PRICELESS). Additionally, the sexual comments were totally random that I could not help but laugh for until that point, I thought it was a PG rated movie as well as loved the originality of the storyline of the flashback in regards of the guardian angel necklace to explain the incident that changed Yoo Ri’s life.
DISLIKED – I would dislike Spellbound if they be no sequel :)
CONCLUSION:
You should watch this drama if you enjoy genres such as HORROR – ROMANCE – GOOD ACTING – GREAT PLOT – HUMOR – MISERY – FRIENDSHIP – DEATH – LIFE – CRIME SOLVING – GHOSTS – MAGIC – FICTION – SUSPENCE - CRYING – FLASHBACKS – LOVE STORIES.

As much as I love Ye-jin, I gotta admit this movie has been sitting in my TBW list for a while. I know I know. Don't come for me. I don't know why it took me so long to get to it. I mean it's everything I love all balled into a single movie. Makes no sense for me to not watch it right away, but here we are. 6 million years later. Lol Kidding, but anyway -- When the movie just started I wasn't hooked right away, I just didn't care for the character Jo-Goo very much. If I'm completely honest, I don't think I ever warmed up to his character. If I did, it was close to the end. But Ye-jin kept me going. lol. I really loved her character and could relate..... without all the horror parts. I'm sure we can all relate to her in our own ways if you really think about it. I freaking ADORED her friendships!! Again, I feel like a lot of us can relate. Even though they had known each other before, it had been so long since they had seen each other and it was like long distance friendships. Relying on phone calls and text. We all know we have been here before. Sometimes the coolest people you meet are the ones that live a million miles away. That's besides the point.
The storyline threw me off though? We end up finding out it had been her "best friend" this whole time... but I'm like damn... she wasn't much of a friend if she ruins your life like that. Even when you find out the whole story about what happened. I'm still like "wow. you are such a petty bitch". I want to say "grow up" but ya know... she's dead <_< >_> -_-
Okay yes, that was mean but come on. This is just to much, because THEN you have these moments when people were supposed to die, but by some miracle, they didn't? So I'm sitting here like.... what the fuckery is happening? It doesn't make sense. Doesn't add up. AND YOU KNOW ME! I hate being confused.
Even when that *moment* happens, oh you know the one. The one that usually relates to a epiphany or something. The moment that happens in every movie that makes you feel like everything will be okay now.... IT WASN'T OKAY!!!! Like rlkjghelrkjhgilruhge WHAT! WHAT THE FUCK! so you just look at the screen like "-_- oh you got jokes?" I hated it. I really did. What else could have happened? What else could she have done?
WHY ARE YOU SO DANG BITTER!? --and if you aren't then who and why is this happening? UGH!!!
While the ending was a good chuckle, I didn't enjoy it. It was okay, I guess. But I was just like.... what... just....happened? They went through this whole thing at the airport not even 10 minutes earlier and now they are okay? I feel like I missed something or there are gaps? SOMETHING! I don't know. The movie doesn't feel complete to me. I mean really what kind of ending was that? *sighs* But don't get me wrong, I'm glad she isn't alone now.
