Smitten like a kitten

That intro song is just such an enjoyment.
And the reason why next episode is something to look forward.

Gaming is not exactly my cup of tea. However watching Wang YiBo role as a gamers (and a top one he is) that’s another thing. Let’s called it a very hot and steamy gamers he is.

Giving this series a shot was like getting crisp out of the chips. You just can not stopped. This storyline is made good and well rendition.

Soundtrack is a class. Hit all the right marks as each scene backsound. Really suit with the mood.

Character Characters. They are actually doing great. Everyone is up their game. And has create a very pleasant sketches.

The romance is there. Plus one with the spicy jealousy. Acidic misunderstandings. Manipulating white lies. And the all in confession session . Tearful breakups. Epic reconciliation.

Rewatching values, is a TEN. Because, why not let us watch Wang Yibo brooding and bothered for a girl. If that is what it takes to gets us girls all dreamy.

By reading the plot summary, I thought that the ending would be too obvious with the male lead winning the world championship but the journey towards that goal did not disappoint me at all. The characters all had their unique personality, each undergoing through their own tough phase while chasing their dream and developing accordingly.
The plot was neither too extreme nor too fluffy and had the perfect combination of both. By extreme, I meant that although there were plots regarding backstabbing, they knew exactly when to stop. the development of each character while facing the difficulties won my heart. Ji Xiang Kong's strong and brave personality is worth mention in this case as in the whole drama, he never wavered, even if it is during following his dream or chasing the girl he likes and he always kept them his personal affairs separated during chasing his dreams. Pei Xi, Ah Xuan and all the other characters also had a very important position in this drama and without them, the plot would have been incomplete. The bromance and romance revolving around the characters were spectacular but I can't talk much about it without spilling spoilers. Although the ending was predictable, the journey towards that ending was worth it and in face, even the ending actually won my heart

When it comes to cast, I believe that all the cast were well selected and they all managed to bring out the characters to life. In other words, they managed to portray the characters perfectly.

While most of the viewers are here after watching Untamed, I actually watched this first and than paved my way towards the best drama of all time because of the actor Wang Yibo who was casted as the male lead here. in short, watching this drama was the best decision I ever made and I am glad I watched if before he Untamed.

This drama had some of the best music and OST that I ever heard. the music were very well suited with the scenes and every time I listen to the OSTs, I get lost in the amazing scenes of this drama. The title song of this drama, sung by Wang Yibo, The Most Burning Adventure, is worth a mention here

Rewatching drama regularly on the other hand is a torture for me. After knowing the story once and watching it again is not meant for me a s I know exactly what is gonna happen and even the journey seems boring to me. However, given the quality of this drama, I still manage to rewatch it every 3 months after forgetting all the tiny details in the meantime as no matter how many times I watch it, all the feeling that I felt in the first time comes rushing back again and watching it makes me excited every time. More like I start to miss the characters and this drama

Not as good as the Classics, but does hit the spot

After watching Falling Into Your Smile, Love O2O, Go Go Squid and the King’s Avatar, there are pretty good dramas to compare Gank Your Heart to. Unlike the other dramas, Gank Your Heart doesn’t have the “Game” Experience, I enjoy to watch. In Love O2O, they have the characters dress and act in the game, which I loved. In King’s Avatar or You are my Glory, there are heavy animations to carry out the verbal description. I guess Gank Your Heart didn’t have the budget for that.

I liked the Casting a lot, there were a lot of people I recognized, although I haven’t watched Untamed yet (it’s on my watch list), the ML is fairly decent and very adorable to watch. I was a huge fan of the FL, she’s so pretty and for once, they didn’t frump her up! I love her outfits and hair, she looked like a normal girl.

I felt like the beginning was a little slow and it focused more on the character’s background and interactions, rather than the game play itself, which can be good for some people if that is what they rather focus on.

The second half gets more into the drama and typical romance troupe where you have the ex’s come back and second and 3rd males trying to get the girl. I did enjoy that since it’s more of my C drama formula I am use to.

I wasn’t entirely sold on the ML because his character is some-what dismissive of the FL and his choices is fairly questionable, but overall he does prevail I guess.

I thought the drama was okay. It wasn’t extraordinary, but if you like the gaming genre, it does hit the spot.

Have been into C-dramas lately, chanced upon this drama while searching for new dramas to watch after Go Go Squid! Honestly i didn't have much expectations for this drama initially, but this drama had me bawling and laughing at times. Would totally recommend this drama although it might seem like a really cliche drama (but everyone needs cliche plots in their lives right?)

Additional factor to watch this drama is because Wang Yi-Bo is such an eyecandy although Wang Zi Xuan is kinda pretty too.

Nonetheless, there is really great chemistry between both the male and female lead. Although i didn't expect something like that in near to the end of the drama (not gonna spoil it).

Surprisingly good show

The story mainly focused on gaming league, it explores gaming, team dynamics, sponsorships, commenting, passionate fans..etc almost all other aspects of gaming. They presented the show in most simple way possible so any non-gamers can watch the show. It revolves around qiu ying a small blogger/ online streamer and professional gamer ji xiangkong (mainly strategy gamer) about their dreams and struggles to achieve their life long goals.

The story tells about team work, friendships, jealousy and ruthlessness of gaming world. No one character is presented in unrealistic way, romance and game does take back seat at times to focus on team dynamics and career struggles of both leads in good way. It does have feel good vibes all over the place (no asshole ML or doormat/ whining FL) which makes this show heartwarming.

Acting wise, i have no complaints; they are not extraordinary but not bad at all. Leads chemistry, Music, production value, cinematography is also good.

Yeah... I don’t know what to write about it. In my humble opinion it was really good. I started watching Gank Your Heart because I still couldn’t watching The Untamed (my note: I could, but altought I love it so much, I really needed some pause - I could be a psycho because of it, I really love it). And moreover, Yibo is acting there too so I decided to give a change to it. And I don’t regret.

The story introduces us corners of life where everyone deal with e-sports. Online games became important sport discipline. And although I never expected I can be able to fail for something like this, I completely understand why this was so popular in there. Atmosphere of all competitions, strategies and trainings of every team were unbelievable.

Ji Xiang Kong as main character – I really thank you for that. Finally I got an opportunity to see character in modern drama who ratiocinates reasonably, hasn’t a problem with sacrificing for others, doesn’t hurt feelings of people like idiot (he has a reasons and he can be really desperate in the moment when something like this happens), is able be sad like a normal person. He isn’t typical guy who tries to be the best harsh man in the world. I really like his character. Above that Ji Xiang Kong is strategy genius. Even now I remember that moment when I first saw him in this drama. It was a scene when they were in the final round of competition and he really looked like intelligent person who has a normal thinking and is likeable and so on. He made so good impression to me.

Also Qui Ying had something to offer. She is a nice girl, likeable (I probably really love this word so I apologize… and I apologize for my English too, I’m not a national speaker). I didn’t want to throw her down from bridge (my typical method for characters I don’t like). I appreciate this feeling so much. Only thing which was a problem for me with her was her relationship with her family… but last episodes solved everything actually so now I understand.

Romantic line couldn’t be missed. I must to say I really like this romantic plot (and I’m not so romantic person if you want to know, I like romance only in dramas and also I have an condition that it can’t be cliche, I admire romantic line only if this has something special or it’s just really good that I can't complain about anything – Gank Your Heart is the second option, it’s just good). Romance was nice, their relationship had really good vibe. I liked that sweet romantic line which was murderous from the very beggining and then this had a really big change. During watching Gank Your Heart I was still smiling like a little sun, dramas are only places where I can endure sweet romance like this. Mainly watching Yibo to act role like this was interesting – he was absolutely different person (I know him like quiet Lan Zhan from The Untamed, not like strategic genius). He is really good actor, but I can say this about whole cast from this drama. I really admire perfomances of actors.

I have actually only one problem which mares my evaluation for this serial. And this was a romantic affair with Mi Ya, Ji Xiang Kong's ex-girlfriend. I said all along that if they won’t care about this past romantic affair I will love it more. Unfortunately this wasn’t happened, Mi Ya is a character who is stubborn and she fights for her first love although she knows that Ji Xiang Kong isn’t interested in her. That’s why I can’t like her (the same is for anorectic girl Qiao Xin Xin, I’m so sorry, but she was too skinny that I was teriffied, it’s only my opinion, I’m from Czechia, not Asia and this size is actually really underweight and not okay here). Luckily, the drama solved this problem aka romantic affair really well, Ji Xiang Kong and Qui Ying had difficult times because of it, but it was actually very understandable. And Mi Ya gave peace them in the end. This part wasn’t too blurry but if this won’t be so important for last episodes I would be glad. But I like way which was used for it, it’s really nice ending for their relationship. However, I don’t like Mi Ya, that’s a fact.

I like this drama so much. And I have some notes for ending of this confused review.

Pei Xi had really interesting character’s change and I started to liking him in the end.

Secondary story lines were good and also were ended in the best way.

I was so surprised because of the international part of this drama. We have a competition in there and also we can hear english phrases. And this is really unexpected in the chinese drama so… really interesting experience for me (thank you, Yibo, for your english, I still have one your sentence in my head (This girl is mine), why am I laughing again because of it? I’m a psycho? Already? Perfect!).

Really funny, sweet, elaborate drama. I’m truly glad I gave a chance to this. It was great enjoyment. I recommend it.

inspiring Drama - Gank Your Heart

First of All, I must say I am only watching this drama in May 2021 - 2 years after it was actually aired.
However, when I went through each episode (Mind you - I watched every bit of the drama - missing nothing)
I never felt as If I was watching a drama already aired and reviewed by many.
In fact I never went through any of the reviews before watching the drama and was neither prepared nor ready for the wonderful experience of watching the drama. In a way - I am glad I didn't read any review before watching it - as I was neither prejudiced or influenced by comments of others.

As I wanted to relax after tiring work, I was trying to find a romantic Chinese drama to watch - to help relax, as I am a fan of chinese drama , even though I live way away from China and never been to the lovely land.
I accidentally came across this drama. - and watched it whilst being awed at the passion displayed for the country and for the love of e-sport.

I am never a one to write reviews online. But I felt compelled to write this - because not writing anything for the drama that gave me so much will be an injustice.

Starting from the OST to the storyline - it was a surprisingly amazing drama.

In fact, it is not only the story of the two main leads - its a story of many characters - who never failed to amaze me.
It shows the growth and maturing of players from the failure of one world championship - till the ultimate Win the next year.
Mi Ya, Qui Ying, Xiang Kong, Yi Yi, Pei xi, Lin Yu xuan , Qui Yue, Luo Tian and all the others including the Blazers, Legends, VNG are inspiring in the way their roles are played throughout the drama. Love, yearning, brotherhood, failure are experienced whilst showing how they support each other and time and time again get back up from where they have fallen.

The drama managed to keep the excitement and the thrill of win and failure from the beginning till the very end.

Every character however small - showed an insight and depth that was praiseworthy. Every look and gesture had meaning.
In fact, even the characters of Legends & VNG supports had their own story to tell - from the ones who got dominated and bossed around to the indifferent one - who was encouraged by Xiang Kong to come play burying the old wounds/hesitations. Even Luo Tian's character is portrayed that of a person who shows to the world an indifferent soul - whereas it's actually a shield put up by himself to protect himself and to be strong - as it is said at the beginning of the story that Luo Tian had been the weakest out of the lot of the old team of players and had worked hard to be where he was.

It shows how relationships sadly break due to interference by others - years lost with life taking whole new directions.
How lives and careers of some are destroyed or taken away so willfully to pave the way for others to rise.
How new people walk into your life taking over your heart and how you knowingly or unknowingly mature with them.
How seniors sacrifice for their juniors and friendships thrive over trials and tribulations in life.

Most of all, it is a drama that inspires you to chase your dreams - no matter what obstacles that you will face in your life.
It so profoundly portrays the many hardships that professionals go through and the hardships they face having to bear criticism from outsiders who are actually ignorant of the truth that lies behind a situation that arises.
It teaches you the strength of friendship & perseverance and most of all - it shows how you rise back from ashes like phoenix.
I love it because it really inspires me and all others out there to not give up - but to aspire to achieve our dreams.

If you really take note of the drama ; It's a journey from BLAZERS to LEGENDS - and ultimately the rise of PHOENIX ...

I never think i would had watch this drama so soon, if not because of Wang Yi Bo who play as Ji Xiang Kong, i was curious how a person who act as someone who hardly talk in The Untamed, then i was capture by the sport and later stay for the adrenaline rush now i wish i could be a com-mentor or a game narrator.

Despite the pile on of misunderstandings in the beginning, Our lead all had their reasons for doing what they did, while the drama is relatively short in term of Chinese Drama, I never felt it was draggy while I was watching, maybe because we are introduced to lots of conflict in the drama and they were decently solve i would said.

They went through hell and back together and they are so considerate of each others. let me just said they are each other support and enemy.

One of the things i love about this drama is that Xk is not your typical drama hero found in most modern Chinese drama, he was a mystery to everyone around him include me the viewer , why we were never giving a glimpse of his past, i might had hate the PD a little there yet i understand because i had come to realize that “A PAST DOES NOT MAKE A PERSON“

I love how it shows us the importance of friendship, teamwork and how it contributes to success. Ji Xiang Kong and Qui Ying compliment each other as they become each others biggest supporters and admirers in this drama. They went through hell and back together and they are so considerate of each others. let me just said they are each other support and enemy.

Gank your heart made me cry, laugh, feel emotional inside! If a drama or movie made me cry, laugh smile whenever am thinking about it or the OST the trust that drama will be on my high list ! Of course there are some flaws and complain (mostly that they want more) but I really enjoyed it while others are complaining about the relationship between the two lead i was digging it cause it show me how relationship in real life work.

The second lead couple ARE SO CUTE with their fights and bickering always make me laugh i swear and i was so in for the head path or throwing the hand over shoulder scene anytime that happen my teeth is always showing.

There is hardly any drama with out it own set of ANTAGONISTS and there were two QIAO XIN AND MI YA which i wish to give a slap every times they arrive on the scene, cause they pissing me off with they steeping over others and yes i do feel that the antagonists stayed around for too long even where they have their goal and they ended up being way too focus on their target, to the point of being detrimental to their own goals.

While they also have there own redemption i would had not accepting if it was not because of the game cause like i said the game heal lot of wound and it made me realize that the game itself it FAMILY!

The OST were amazing and overall, and i found my 3 favorite song to listen to! i have to said this year was pretty good when it come to Drama OST!!

This drama throw a lot at us like both lead’s turbulent relationship, career and massive changes with lots of hate and doubt thrown against them, Qiu Ying’s family issue, the e-sport industry, perception of gaming as a newbie and old-bie, the dream of winning the championship and that camaraderie among your teammates, multiple supporting characters character development, the drama definitely covered a lot, and I so love the supportive environment our characters created for themselves.

But overall the acting was great, especially Qui Ying’s given the fact that she’s fairly new in the acting industry. The competition scenes were something else OMG i could feel my Adrenaline pumping, am not even a gamer but those scene got me sitting on the edge of my seat and whenever they said Next Wave Attack gosh i nearly give myself an attack there.

I almost feel like this is a case of "the ends justify the means" because this drama ends well. However, the first half of the series is really rough to sit through. I'm not sure what went wrong, but the acting was terrible in the beginning which is really strange because I've seen much of this cast in other things and they're fantastic. Thankfully the acting and cast chemistry gets on track the second half of the series and it becomes extremely entertaining. If you can hang on, it's good. If you dropped it, it's understandable. My advice: skip a few episodes and stick with it.

SO..... this is my first review but I had to write one for this. This was such a good drama (very balanced) and it portrayed character growth so well. The fl is amazing! She went from being dependent on others to independent in so many ways like GO GIRL! I first saw the mL act in Legend of the Fei (I highly recommend the series!). He was great again and surpassed my expectations again! His acting was on point and really good! I have to say tho I was very very disappointed in how the story took place after his ex came because the ml character really became hurtful even to the audience. The way he neglected the fl who was his GF at the time and the way his attention was fixated on his ex was just annoying as hell. Besides that the story was amazing! This review is all over the place but I am just typing the thought coming to me rn. The story had flaws like how easily the fl forgive the ml which is so frustrating after all the issues unintentionally caused. Moreover, the ex was just cruel! But the sports and the friendship sector in this story was superb and really well portrayed. This drama is highly recommended from me since the leads are good and the ending is also very good (A little hurried and unfinished but happy). So don't hesitate in trying it!

It's the first e sports competition drama

If you are a late viewer maybe after falling into your smile kings Avatar etc,.. this don't have much gaming scenes ... So might disappoint some. But it has the all other things going behind the sport.. team work and problem..

For first 4 eps I was feeling very uneasy... Even though of dropping as I don't like serious plots.. but after skipping a little to 6,10,12eps I got the comedy and gave it a go . It is fine enough and I won't regret.. but it depends on

I liked it because there is no rich or perfect leads....
They are normal have their flaws and falls....
It's also first time I see the ml riding a bike.. cooool

Spoiler...

Miya... Actually is it a company that decide whether one to be in a relationship or not ???? I mean really.. because I read it on many other cdrama summary..

And I don't get y jxk gave up as they love each other that much... But ofcourse past is past .. and it depends on people... But then too can just distance break relation... It can make him as not stable in relation no?? But Miya is also at fault no contact for 5 yrs??? Too bad

And as it is said if u really love someone u don't fall for another so... It's only thing I get

The reason they separate is for their dreams at first....
Now I want to see a drama where the work or distance don't affect relations because I saw too many drama where they separate just because of jobs.. but there I felt it s not the real love and the will find the right one later... But here it's different so I really want to see a all feel good one as after many dramas the only thing common is that nothing is permanent like nothing is a life long promise..

And lutian ... I thought he liked qy from Start but kept it himself as he knows she likes some other... But it turns he himself wasn't aware till the president say so. Funny... But here to it was natural no evil...

I also liked that they didn't make ex or other love interest evil... It made it feel real than drama ofcourse.. will someone hurts the one they like.. then it just means they love themselves not the other... Ya there was one no with wenji .. again it's a part I don't like and hence 1 point less for rating.
The evil parts also.. just skip if you don't like... that's it .......

My favourite characters pexi, summer, sun, wen.. I watched it for them.. than for 1st and 2nd leadss

My feelings for pexi was constantly changing..
1st.. he is the one to be dislike as I thought he will anything to win over jxk
2nd.. I think he wants to win fairly.. can't hate him
3.. hey I think he don't like qy but will he act for her just to complete with jxk... No I don't think so .. if it happens it will be boring
4.. ohhh he listens to jxk .. he respect himm nice
5... OMG really pexi admire jxk... Now I feel like he will never hurt jxk.." it's like even if he likes qy he won't care as he likes jxk and don't want him sad.. but ofcourse px don't like qy.."
6.. now I am watching it just for the fun part by px and summer ge...

He was arrogant and proud.. but improved later he wanted real friends who understands his arrogance haha and I loved 26 and28 ep... I also wonder what kind of girl he likes maybe one who can beat him... As it's impossible as said by jxk no one can beat him in solo ... So....

And l watched for teamwork, gaming and friends... I would have liked it even more with out romance but ofcourse it is indispensable so it's fine

This is my first time writing reviews but here it is...

Looking through the comments, it seems like viewers prefers watching other dramas related to e-sports, computer science, etc.
Personally, I think this drama is good. Comparing to The King's avatar, the King's avatar is more into the game itself and ambitions, so if you want to watch less about relationship conflicts, I prefer you watch the King's avatar. Comparing to Go Go Squid, go go squid have more dramas (by that I meant conflicts or misunderstandings regarding to either friendship, etc.) If you're more into brotherhood/ friendships, I prefer you watch Go Go Squid. Lastly, comparing to Love 020, love 020 is more into computer science. If you're not as interested in e-sports and wants to watch anything about computer science, I prefer you Love 020.
Now, gank your heart is a drama who talks about love, dreams, and e-sports. I would give it 10 stars because first of all, the opening song is catchy. This is a good way to hoom the viewers and be interested on watching the drama. Secondly, it did a good job on a story plot. Other people might think it's predictable, but I would say the opening scenes did a good start kick starting the whole storyline. Giving a glimpse of what might happen throughout the drama actually makes me more interested. Third of all, the relationship of the two main roles were ran decently. At first I thought there will be plot twists, but they did it normally. Now last but the least, I think one of the main reasons why I gave a perfect 10 is because the games actually hyped me up.
It was a good rollercoasted ride. I actually wish for season 2. PLEASE GIVE US SEASON 2.
