Another one of my favorites!
BACKGROUND INFO-----------------------------The male lead (Ji Xiangkong) is an e-gamer representing team Legends. The female lead (Qiu Ying) started off as an interviewer in a small company. Ji Xiangkong and Qiu Ying meet at the national e-gaming finals competition in 2018. Because of certain reasons, they meet again. Though they don't understand each other very well so hate each other in the beginning. But as they know each other better, they reconcile and become good friends. Ji Xiangkong started Qiu Ying's dream of becoming the first Chinese female commenter in the national e-gaming competition. Of course, they both meet people who are trying to ruin their careers. They push together to solve these problems, but then Ji Xiangkong's ex-girlfriend came back from America. Ji Xiangkong needs to find a balance to keep his ex-girlfriend from interfering with his current relationship.
STORY------------------------------------------------
First off, I just want to say that this drama is on my "BEST DRAMAS EVER" list. The story was literally amazing. I love how there was a really good balance between love and career. It is super great to see how these relate to each other. The leads start off sort of hating each other, mainly because they didn't understand each other. But eventually they become good friends and catch feelings. There were actually three main conflicts in the story. The first one is when a manager in the Legends e-sports team tries to kick the male lead out of the team, which happens towards the beginning. In the middle, is about the female lead and her work rival. And in the end, is regarding the male lead's ex-girlfriend. Nothing really "breaks" their relationship, but they will get upset at each other at times. But for the first two conflicts, it affects their careers, not their love life. I think the thing that really gets to my emotions, is the friendship, and the adventures they travel together. It's really awesome seeing how the characters grow, learn, and go through so much together. The bond and brotherhood hooked me instantly, and made me feel like this drama was more meaningful than just a simple love story. It is truly insane how much this captured my heart. Such a beautiful story, and it made me cry over happiness.
ACTING/CAST--------------------------------------
Wang Yibo is pretty popular right now, but it's funny how I didn't watch Gank Your Heart fully because of him. I was more looking at the story, but of course, with Yibo and Wang Zixuan as leads it makes it 10 times better. I do have to give extra credit to Zixuan though. One thing that would really ruin a drama is if the leads are cringy. Zixuan's acting was so natural, I really loved it. She didn't try to act cute, and she didn't try to overexaggerate any emotions. Same goes to Yibo. Both lead's acting was so natural and everything was executed so well. Support characters also did an amazing job, and really brought the story to life.
MUSIC-----------------------------------------------
Great music, especially loved the intro song Wang Yibo sang called "Most Burning Adventures" or "最燃的冒险".
REWATCH VALUE---------------------------------
Yes, definitely worth rewatching. I'm personally not the type of person that likes rewatching dramas, but if I wanted to rewatch any drama, this would be it. Most of the time, I would rewatch a few scenes because of the relationship, but this it was the story for this drama that captured me.
OVERALL--------------------------------------------
Really amazing drama. This is another on of my favorites now! Recommend to anyone out there, and it's very meaningful. I caught myself in tears towards the beginning! If you haven't watched this, then now is the time! This is a seriously good drama.

I started this drama with not many expectations but this drama really proved me wrong. I started watching for Yibo but ended up falling for so many more characters. Qiu Ying and Xiang Kong's love for each other was so pure and they acted that part out super well. (It felt more than real OK SOMEONE FIND ME A JI XIANG KONG) Them, as each other's support and reliable partner; they emerged from the bottom to the top and the final parts of the drama had me in tears. Many lessons learned through this drama. Don't expect major twists, the drama is a very light and fluffy one. Predictable but worth the watch.
The gaming scenes were very well done in my opinion, especially the world championships part. Their reactions were top notch and I really felt as if I was present, watching the actual game even though it's just a fictional drama. The antagonists were really annoying and frustrating but I guess they've done their job well in pissing everyone off HAHA. Yi Yi and Yi Xuan are the best friends one can ever ask for and the way Yi Xuan is so smitten for Yi Yi is very endearing. (If Yi Xuan is the best support player, he's a even better brother man the loyalty)
Everything was plotted well and fell into place, making it relatively natural. Character developments were apparent, making me feel like a proud audience as time passed. Also, Xiang Kong and Qiu Ying's hug scenes make me want to melt and combust (it's so !!!!!!!)
Definitely one of my favourite c-dramas now and I will definitely rewatch it. The OST is very nice too and it's placed very aptly. I miss the characters already omg I love the teams so much :(((( Watch it, don't hesitate! Even if it seems a ~little~ draggy at times, just fast forward/skip it a little and pull through, it'll be worth it, I promise you.

Came for Wang Yibo, stayed for all
Perfect castPerfect representation of love and friendship
I loved their romance. It was slow burn and enemies to lover troupe.
I loved that they focussed on their struggles and hard working in building their career.
The main leads became better people for their love. Unlike other drama where they skip hard work and automatically become winner, it highlighted the struggle and determination.
Love is not just about romance, chessy dates and intimacy, its about standing beside in all conditions, to grow together. Ji Xiang Kong and Qui Ying had amazing chemistry and both as individuals were awesome, they could stand on their own too and being together was the ultimate support.
The second couple was indeed cute. I loved the fl's bff and ml's bff. Pei Xi is my second fav character- our fanboy, who was initially misjudged but was actually an ace in their troupe of players. I loved the supportive character a lot, they had their own stories, own struggles. Qui Ying's bother is another sweetheart, despite the complications in their family, he really loved his sister and was ready to stand up for her always, no matter how rude she was initially.
My only complain is-
Showing Luo Tian has romantic feelings for Qui Ying was completely unnecessary. They were so much better and pure as teacher and student. they could have easily continued Luo tian cherishes qui ying as his only student and respects her hard working nature. suddenly showing that part made me feel bad that introverts often lose their love because they don't even take the chance to speak up. no matter how true their love is, they are anxious to persue it boldly and many a times, undeserving people get a upper hand.
Just like Pexi had agreed to become Qui ying's fake bf, they could have shown Luo Tian faked his feelings so that Ji xiang kong would realise that if he does not treasure Qiu ying, someone else will take her away. i loved it when he bashed Ji Xiang Kong that he was being careless to the girl who loves him selflessly and is ready to abandon her dream just to support him, and was instead being with his ex-gf, that too even after knowing that she was putting on an act. Miya acting to be pathetic gets on my nerves, specially when Ji Xiang Kong chose to wait for her to reveal the truth herself. she was clearly selfish and then suddenly they are showing that she is ready to sacrifice her love. she left him back then to make her career- its understandable. she came back to see him, if he has moved on- okay. now after seeing he has moved on, she needs to go. but instead she did so many things, because of her Qio ying was bashed by media, Ji xiang kong already has so much stains on his career, she gave people one more reason to bash him. and then her act of being blind, get lost bitch. I really wanted her to go blind in the end and Ji xiang kong to think that she is still putting on a act, and leaving her.

I say an AMAZING drama! The cast is GOOD, especially with Wang Yi Bo! After this drama, he became one of my favorite actors! I love his character, how he never gives up even if hardships come his way. Lowkey makes me want to find a boyfriend like him hehe. Even though I am not a fan of e-sports, there is good Chinese representation! There are so many cute scenes as well, as it gives off romantic vibes, bits of betrayal, sadness, and much more!
Highly recommend watching it, as it has so many different emotions you'll experience! A plus if you play e-sports!

*Note: This is my first time writing a review for drama, and also sorry for my poor EnglishSince the first time I watch the trailer of the drama, I had been curious about what does the drama talks about. It seems like the main role of an artist since there are some interviews, but somehow he is playing pc games. So, I did not think twice just to watch it on youtube. No need to talk longer, I just watched the first episode, and I had already driven crazy to watch it more. (I even did not sleep just to finish the drama at that time).
Actually, I really love it, despite the truth that the friendzone is longer than being a couple. But, the way they do everything as a friend really was really sweeeeeeeeet.
Another thing, this drama had break my record to watch drama repeatedly for 15 times without watching another drama. Previously, I watched Love O2O for 7 or 8 times consecutively, but this drama... I really love it and cannot stop thinking about it. The way Xiang Kong and Qiu Ying in conflict, the way they make up, the way they supporting each other to achieve their dreams, the way they still remember their promise even though they are not in a good terms, I LOVE IT!
P.S. Because of this drama, I've fallen for Wang Yi Bo!! And just after this drama I discover that Wang Yi Bo is a racer, makes me falling more to him because I really love racing.

This is my first time I feel the need to write a review. I did not hold high expectations when I start watching this series. But I have to admit this is one of the best series so far in 2019. They cast quite some young actor and actress in this series and they did a great job in casting them. The acting of the main and supporting actor-actress is very good and natural. I can’t help but taking interest especially in Wang Yibo (male lead). The acting is bery natural and I think he fits Ji Xiangkong perfectly. The Wang Zhixuan (female lead) is doing very good for her first female lead role, there are many scene made you feel heartbroken for her facing so many difficulty in this whole drama. The music fits real good, especially the ending OST which fit the story very well. Too bad, it’s not available yet in itunes so I can only listen from youtube.
When you are eager so long for a drama about the people who fight for their dreams, never give up no matter how many times they fall, the power of pure love and friendship that help you grow and stand up facing all the challenge. This drama will definitely your first choice.
Spoiler:
I can’t help but keep rewatching the final episode during the final game of the competition. The music, the way they bring it to peak of the competition is way so good.

GENERAL GIST:
Unlike King's Avatar and Love O2O, this drama surprisingly puts a realistic perspective to what happens behind the scenes in E-sports. In addition to its romantic aspect, it delves into the bonds and friendships in players of teams in this sport. Furthermore there is the focus on the hardships they face in being part of an industry that has grown over the years.
STORY:
There were a lot of shocks and I'd say the development wasn't complete in many instances. I was hoping for more development on some parts of the story which they tended to skip to instead. However overall, it builds well and ends well.
ACTING/CAST:
If you're someone that looks for good acting and good chemistry in the main couple as well as the side characters, you've come to the right drama. In addition to looking great, the characters worked well together. From the very matches in the games, the players communicating as they played, to the main leads building their relationship, it flows well in my opinion.
MUSIC:
I usually don't tend to focus much on music, and I think most times the C-dramas I watch don't focus much on this aspect. So in this case, its at a minimal and used when needed - doesn't interfere with too many important parts.
REWATCH VALUE:
I honestly don't know but I'd say I might rewatch this in the future? But its 35 episodes that are 40 minutes each. And they end on many suspenses. So personally I would take a full day of binging for this.
OVERALL:
I love a great chemistry in the Main couple. And I love ones that seem so natural you understand and relate, as well as understanding the story as a whole. The villains weren't too much, and for an overdramatic person like me this drama seemed perfect because I love going on about side characters and interference.
Nonetheless, I'd anyday recommend this drama, even if you're not an E-sports or video game kind of person. This drama makes life simpler for you and following through with what goes on is pretty easy too ^^

To each their own!
I saw a some negative reviews on other platforms who came here for Yibo but somewhat left disappointed because it's not what they expected. Of course they were expecting a similar non talking Lan Zhan to be on the screen again since we have all missed Lan Zhan like crazy since the Untamed ended but I accepted the fact that Wang Yibo is a real person that needs to do other things to progress on his career, not a tool of our perverted fantasy. So , I gave Gank Your Heart a try.Plot and characters:
It's a sports drama. So, there will be a lot of excitement, underdog wins the trophy, genius behind the scene strategist makes a breakthrough and the drama will end with a heartwarming feel of losers becoming winners yada yada. I expected that bit, but I felt happy throughout the drama because the story behind the team members were interesting enough to keep me hooked. The romance part was pathetic to be honest because Yibo always looks like he is allergic to women, but I bit down a bitter pill and endured it all because of my undying devotion and love for him as an allrounder entertainer. Pei Xi and Yi Xuan stole the spotlight to be honest. These two guys , whenever they come on to the screen, I am always either laughing my head off or expecting a huge dramatic scene to unfold. I loved the FL at first, because she was relatable to most of us, someone trying to make it in the industry but faced with challenges due to unhoned skills and insufficient networking skills. I liked how she progressed from a newbie to a complete pro in the industry, all with hard work and tenacity. I however, did not like how her love life progressed. If someone like Mi Ya came in to my life , I would have either beaten the crap out of her, or I would beat the crap out of Xiang Kong and then walked away with my boot prints on their faces. No one deserves to be played around like what happened to Qiu Ying. The lack of back bone pissed off my feminist side and I felt so angry at the miscommunication trope used for the romance side of the drama.
As for Xiang Kong, I felt baffled at how Yibo showed more passion playing the game compared to when he was cuddling Qiu Ying. Gosh, this guy needs to learn his romance tricks from Luo YunXi. He had this awkward facial expression when he was near her which was not convincing at all. Qi Yue and Qiao Xin were gold! Omg, such good acting. Made me hate them so much but at the same time, I didn't feel their ending was too light of a punishment because the screen writers wanted us to feel bad for them and forgive them. I was like, hmm fine.
Throughout the story, I had to skip the Qiu Ying crying parts because they were annoying, the parts where Yi Yi was nagging non stop and the parts where the Legends chairman was just standing up looking useless throughout the drama. The good parts were the competitive parts where it was the main theme of the drama and the screen writers did not fail there . When Mi Ya entered the storyline, I felt it was an immense plot hole that raises too many questions in my mind. Like Mi Ya wtf? Or Miya, why now? Miya, seriously? Miya, after 3 years , really? It was an unneeded addition.
Overall
I would give it a go. I mean the roller coaster of Main Leads chasing each other in the first 10 episodes was fun for me . Yibo is good at being a tsundere and he will only play that role his whole life if he doesn't flex his facial muscles more often. The competition part is inspiring as well. The journey Qiu Ying took to finally be successful is also fun to watch although I cringe so bad at all the attempts by Qiao Xin to ruin her which did indeed destroyed her temporarily and diverted her path too many times. Qiao Xin's evil doings were recognized too late and I lost interest by the time the story decides to punish her. But anyways, watch it with a low expectation. I put a low rewatch value as I know I would again skip many annoying parts.

I solely became interested in this drama because of the e-sport genre, i don't even know the cast.
The story started off really great in my opinion, focusing on each of their career and love story with a bit of enemy/rival thingy. But i got disappointed in the middle when the ex-gf is coming up, i think it ruined the focus of the story. It became much of a typical romance drama where the main leads getting more and more misunderstanding because of third party. Yet, the last 8 episodes picked up my interest again as they focus on the competition again.
This is my first Wang YiBo drama and all i can say is he did a really great job in this drama portraying a gifted e-sport player. All the other casts also suited their character as well.
To sum it up, i think it is still one a good drama despite the long episodes and anyone with e-sport interest should give it a try, especially for the sake of Wang YiBo :)
The OST is really great too and if i'm gonna rewatch it, maybe i will just watch the first half and then skip to the last 8 episodes where they perform really great.
