One of the classics of year 2010
I really love this drama since I first watched it. I've already watched this before and fell for it and on my second time I still love it. The mix of drama and subtle comedy makes this a unique series and a story worth following. Although there were episodes that feels a bit draggy, it's still one of the best dramas I've seen and should be watched by K-Drama fan at least once in their life. The chemistry of the casts is also superb and I also love the OST. I can't get enough of the OSTs that I immediately added it to my playlist.
I really recommend this to all K-Drama fans as this is really a classic drama series. (Sorry for the lame review, I'll try to edit this soon.)

To put it in Mi-ho's words, I liked this very very very very very much. This drama has been on my watchlist for ten years but somehow I never got around to it. Watching it now, ten years later, made me realize how far K-dramas have come production-wise but it was also super nostalgic in the best way.
Story
I really liked the plot. I've never watched or read a Gumiho story before, so it was very interesting to learn about the folklore. The pacing of the story was really good and never had any dull moments. Only the ending felt kinda sudden - I would have loved to see a bit more into the future and see Mi-ho's other dreams come true.
I also really enjoyed the side-story of the aunt and the director. I cried laughing at some of their scenes.
Acting
Lee Seung Gi and Shin Min Ah have really great chemistry. Shin Min Ah's interpretation of a clueless, innocent Gumiho who is excited about the human world was really well done and adorable. And Park Soo Jin and Noh Min Woo were amazing antagonists, to the point where they made my skin crawl. The acting was outstanding all over, really.
I don't really know what else to say right now, cause I just finished it - I feel happy and content.

PG Rated
This is a classic. If you want to LOL you got it in spades here! But if you are over a certain age, I would avoid as it seems orientated towards a younger audience, painfully so! This is an early offering from the Hong sisters and their second time working with Lee Seung-gi, who looks very young here. The beginning starts off strong but then, not even at the half-way point it starts to flag and bring on the tired Kdrama trope of male love interest acting as a father figure to female love interest acting as his daughter (at 5yrs old!) We have very young, recognisable leads, acting cute here in an exaggerated manner. Towards the end I just wanted it to end as I wasn't that invested by then. I enjoyed the OST. Instantly recognisable catchy tunes for each character. The second couple got my vote for being over 40, having a past dating history, meeting under comical misunderstandings and achieving a happy ending. We have the familiar 'Little Mermaid' tale popping up here too...I mean there are lots of other fairy tales out there. I don't really understand the Kdrama obsession with this one. There are glaring inconsistences but hey it was made for children so just leave them to it! CUTE!Was this review helpful to you?
A Disney Delight.
I'm not jesting with the title. This drama strongly reminded me of a Disney movie. If it wasn't for Park Dong Ju, the entire drama would completely lose any sense of seriousness.Don't get me wrong. The drama as a whole is a treat. We have Dae Woong, a spoilt jock, who runs away after his grandfather threatens to send him off to military school. While seeking shelter from the rain at temple, a gumiho tricks him into setting her free. Grateful for his help, she heals him off his injuries using her fox bead after he tumbles down a hill.
A shocked Dae Woong finds himself followed by the supernatural creature, whom he nicknames Gu Mi Ho. Unbeknowest to him, Park Dong Ju spins a plan of his own to get the gumiho back to her own realm.
I have to give it to the cast -- everyone where portrayed to a tee. I don't know who is styled Dae Woong, but he had the worst hairstyle in this drama. Or was it a trend in older KDramas?
I loved every single character, including minor ones like Byung Soon, Dae Woong's best friend. I loved the little friendships and relationships in this one. Gu Mi Ho and Dae Woong are the paradigm of innocent romance. It was funny, heartwarming, sometimes cringey, but endearing.
Gu Mi Ho was absolutely adorable. I've seen Shin Min Ah in Hometown Cha Cha Cha, but had to drop it as it did not interest me much. Also, shoutout to the Director and Aunty Min Sook for being the comic relief. Episode 4 with the wall scene will always be a memorable one. The villain, Park Dong Ju, was a well played character. He would've had my support, if he hadn't been stuck deep in his own prejudices.
The drama dragged unnecessarily after EP8 or so. Which is why this lost it's chance to score a solid 8. But, I can see why this is appealing to many out there. You don't get much stress free minus all the angsty dramas out there anymore.

First of all I didn't see this drama draggy as many said It was nice, logical and funny
With cute romance and strong plot
But sure it has it's flaws
The end was annoying for they must be separated for no reason in my opinion
Because the grandmother promised if the gumiho finds herself a husband she will turn her to human and leave her at earth
The character of min woo was extremely Annoying and selfish
I saw him an enemy friend , a snake in a smooth way
He didn't help her actually he was just trying hard to take her away from seung gi to himself
What bothered me as hell that B**** soo Jin she didn't have any punishment for what she did
The main sad song was amazing I like it a lot
What surprised me so much was one of the main background track music was stolen from Egyptian song was released at 2004
Really recommend drama , I loved it

The actors were all good except Park Soo Jin. What is with her having one expresion for all emotions? No Min Woo was dark, mysterious and sexy as Park Dong Joo. I really enjoyed his part in this KD. I thought LSG and Min Ha had a great chemistry and their romance was "to die for".
The music is really good and appropriate for the scenes.
I would rewatch this in a heartbeat!!! Hope you enjoy!!!

That was more or less the message of this drama. And I loved it. But I loved even more the way the story was told, the originality of it. The fact that a deep message could be told in a lighthearted and simple way. I love their sense of rythm. And the fact that the plotline is somewhat based on Korean mythology is also a plus for me. Hong sisters are actually masters at this, and I love dramas with a supernatural element.
I loved the cast, both Shin Min Ah and Lee Seung Gi were cut out for the role. They had a lot of chemistry and all the sexual innuendos in the script were just so funny. And the supporting actors were also great, specially Song Dong Il as the action school director. His role, a parody of Chow Yun Fat action roles in Chinese movies and his scenes with Yoon Yoo Sun were absolutely hilarious (the references to Asian pop culture seem to be a trademark in Hong sisters dramas and this was no exception).
Surprisingly, I loved No Min Woo's character as well. I'm not a fan, but I really liked his role and performance in this.
Is there anything I didn't like? Well, yes. I hated Park Soo Jin's character. I guess it was just some treat to the audience. I mean, this is the type of character you encounter in EVERY drama, the girl everybody loves to hate. And it's not just that I hate this type of character in here: I hate it everytime, in every drama. But since everything else felt almost perfect in this, I think that subplot was a downer.
I didn't like the fact that the story drifted from Mi Ho to Dae Woong's character as the plot developed either. Or at least that's the feeling I got. And the ending felt a little rushed, maybe...?
Also, the fact that I loved the story and how it is told, doesn't mean that I didn't cringe at all the sexism implied in the undertone message. That is, the fact that Mi Ho's character is a satire of the overattached girlfriend cliché, which I hate. And I have mixed feelings about all the romanticism and the mystification of love (the bead, the chi energy exchange thing). I think it's a beautiful allegory, and a beautiful story to be told in a movie or a TV drama, but it's kind of dangerous in real life, depending on how it's interpreted.
Anyways, I absolutely loved and enjoyed this all along, and it's become hands down one of my favourite romantic comedy dramas ever.

This drama didn't age well
I don't usually write reviews, but for the community I think I should write something about this drama to warn about it . Like I said in the title, this drama didn't age well. I started watching this drama convinced by the 8.2 rating, the name Lee Seung Gi and by the plot summury. Well, I found myself disappointed. This rating in my opinion doesn't reflect how a korean drama should be with an 8 in today's standards. The first half it's quite interesting and funny but, as soon as we approach the second half, here we have problems: the plot starts to be repetitive and boring, it's development very slow and not so funny.
Generally I like Lee Seung Gi's acting (Look at him in Vagabond. To paraphrase Ban director: He IS indeed ACTION. ...and hot ;) ), but maybe because I'm influenced by the overall boring plot, I didn't find it very stand-out. I found a little more convincing Shin Min Ah's acting. I'm not saying they were bad, but I didn't feel so involved.
In conclusion would I recommend this?
Mostly not. If you are a begginer in watching korean dramas maybe and I say MAYBE you can still appreciate this story, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone else.

Story- This is a well written comedy romance. Not only is it super funny but there is an actual plot. There are actual events taking place while we are being entertained. Its not a predictable story either. Id say its only fault would be the end. The ending wasn't horrible but I just didnt love it.
Acting/Cast- This was my first introduction to Shin Min Ah. She WAS Gumiho in everyway. Lee Seung Ki did his usual comedy thing but was convincing when it came to his emotional scenes. No Min Woo though stole the show in my opinion. I loved loved all the side characters, they were so much fun to watch and really added to the show.
Music- Best score ever and I liked a lot of the songs on the OST enough to put on my ipod.
Rewatch- I could rewatch this every year cause it was so entertaining.

Gu Mi Ho is so cute... I like when Dae Woong tames her slowly. I wish there was more fantasy elements. There were showed only light or bad shots...Hmm.. maybe too smal budget? It's a pity! It was the most interesting part of drama. Except for the main characters I've become interested in misterious Park Dong Ju. I would like to know his past better, because the secrets are still puzzle for me.
Hmm.. I mentioned it is the tragic story, but unfortunately.. they demaged the end. I think the ideal end was on th gym, when Mi Ho disappears... Awww... it is only my script version.
