If I had to describe this drama in one word I would use DISAPPOINTING. I watched the first four episodes, and became absolutely hooked. I thought Byun So Ra, and Yoon Joon Soo's romantic backstory was hilarious. I liked how Hwang Jin Joo, and Kang Chan Jin completed the dramas love square. The show was a lot of fun in the beginning, but it suddenly lost all of it's charm.

The main issue? There was zero romantic chemistry between any of the four lead characters. There seemed to be lots of sexual tension in the earlier episodes, but once it was time for more romantic scenes, they just fell flat. I understand that Yoon So Yi & Jae Hee were both playing socially awkward characters, but that doesn't mean that their relationship should come across as stiff. Yoon So Yi never showed any emotion, and it's hard to root for a emotionally repressed romantic lead. Jae Hee relied too much on making cute Johnny Depp-like faces, which often made me not take him seriously.

The rivals were often more interesting than the main leads. Lee Soo Kyung did a good job of playing a competitive rival, but I still never felt like she had any genuine feelings, just a bruised ego. She did play selfish perfectly, and I hated her character because of it. Shim Ji Ho was the only cast member who made me feel anything close to real emotion. I fell for the longing looks Kang Chan Jin would give to So-Ra. I wanted him to win the girl simply because he was the best actor of the bunch. Sometimes it felt like he was in a romantic drama all by himself. He definitely held the romantic part of the story together.

I think this drama didn't know how to find the right balance between romantic comedy, and office drama. The workers at L'aura were fun to watch, but they eventually took up way too much focus. I soon felt like I was watching the Korean version of "Ugly Betty". Jun Soo Kyung role was so cliché, and her scheming soon took over the whole show. All the romance was soon reduced to misunderstandings, missed opportunities, and stubborn characters making frustrating choices. The only redeeming original moments were with Park Sang Myun. I loved the randomness of his all knowing character. All the rest has been done before, and much better.

I reserved the highest marks for the music. No matter how bored I became, the music started to become a pep talk that kept me watching. I wish I could blame it all on waiting for translated subs, but If I had watched it marathon style I would have been tempted to skip through a lot of it. I might rewatch some of the cute earlier scenes again, but I wouldn't ever make it through all 20 episodes again.

My main goal for even finishing this was to see who So-Ra ends up with. The end is anticlimactic, and it fails at giving the grand romantic conclusion it was aiming for. I'd recommend asking someone, if you're curious, rather than sitting through the frustrating last two episodes. Then again, I would recommend skipping the whole thing.

This review is long, I know, but after sticking with this drama for so long I had to vent! : )

This is a unknown show that seems to have low ratings. However I absolutely adore it. First of all it's Jae Hee's first drama after coming back from the army, which is absolutely exciting, and it has a really good storyline.
Story: The story is good and is told at a good pace. The only thing I don't like about it is the unnecessary amount of time spent on secondary plots. The two lead males are both adorable. I can't choose between the two at all. This show makes you want to root for both sides. The main female,So Ra, is the type you either hate and can't stand, or you root for all the way. She is the type of girl who works her ass off and doesn't really care what others think of her. I can relate to her well and I feel for her which is probably why I really like this drama while other don't. The second female, Jin Joo, can get annoying, she's the exact opposite of the main female, where all she cares about is her looks and getting married to a rich successful guy. She gets on my nerves but I also feel a level of understanding with her as well. The secondary plots were also interesting at first, but they then start to drag on for stupid reasons, when there is an easy solution in front of them. However, these scenes are quite funny so its watchable.
Acting/Cast: First of all JAE HEE! He is absolutely adorable with his different facial expressions. He plays his part well. Also the Shim Ji-ho is also really cute and I really feel for him and buy his character's one sided love for So Ra. The main actress who plays So Ra, Yoon So-yi, is always criticized. I have read many reviews where people say that they don't like her at all. But I think she plays her part really well. I think what people were referring to was the way her character acts. It may take some time, but by episode 3 you will start liking her character. The second female who plays Jin Joo, Lee Soo-kyung, also is believable in her acting. She may be a bit overdramatic but its not to the point where its unbearable. The secondary cast though can be overdramatic, but the main storyline is so good that I don't really mind.
Music: Oh man the music is really good. I don't really pay attention to the music, but this one kind of makes you. Whenever there is a scene with So Ra and Chan Jin (second lead), the music really makes you want to shout KISS HER KISS HER ALREADY!!! The main theme song is also really good and catchy.
Rewatch: Right now the show is still on air but I think I would definitely watch again when I'm in the mood for a good laugh and some good romance.
Overall: I like it but if they toned down on the secondary storylines a bit more then I would love it.

Give this drama a shot, it won't disappoint

Honestly, I really liked the first several episodes of this show. I thought Jae Hee was seriously cute, and even though the chemistry between him and Yoon So Yi wasn't that great, it was fun to watch him and his ridiculously adorable smile. Not to mention Shim Ji Ho is just amazingly good looking! But then the jealousy just got out of control and the situations between the characters became more and more implausible. It got to the point where it became painful to watch! I will admit, I mostly pressed fast forward through the last 5 or 6 episodes, just cause I wanted to know who Byun So Ra chose in the end. So as not to get spoilery, I will just say that the ending was so contrived and forced. By episode 20, it was really difficult to care about any of the characters at all. Throughout, Shim Ji Ho is the only thing that made this drama even kind of watchable!

I wanted to watch Color of Woman because it was suppose to be Jae Hee’s comeback drama. I was also looking forward to another romantic comedy…

Story- I loved the first episode! It caught me off guard because it was so different. This is the first drama where the romance is between 2 former lovers. The story isn’t really anything new but it still managed to differ itself with the settings/locations. In the beginning it was so light and funny. I was looking forward to work competitions and also the romance. But it didn’t really go in that direction. I think they focused too heavily on the romance to the point I just became restless. After episode 15 I actually just the recaps till the end. The ending was kind of silly but happy nonetheless. This show would have been so much better if they cut it down to 16 episodes because they really did focus on the 4 leads to much.

Acting/Cast- I actually loved the entire cast. They all fit their roles well. Although the 4 lead characters had moments when they pissed me off, I still liked them. I'm a little disappointed with So Ra’s character development though. In the first couple eps you saw glimmers of what the professional So Ra working in the beauty business could look like. I found it odd that they didn’t stick with the makeover. I mean she looked like a bag lady for the entire drama! If this was the real world she would never get hired. I know she’s not about her looks but sticking out in your work environment is not the way to go if you want to be taken seriously, which she never was. I had second lead syndrome with Shim Ji Ho’s character. I'm a new fan of his. The supporting cast made this show awesome. Their side characters really added to the entertainment factor being hilarious and all.

Music- Great OST! I put a couple songs on my ipod.

Rewatch- I’d rewatch this about 2 yrs from now just because I loved the cast.

Overall Color of Woman is not anything you haven’t seen before and it can be frustrating to watch especially toward the end but I’d say watch for the cast at least. That’s the only reason this drama will be memorable for me.

If you can avoid watching it, do so....

Like another show I reviewed, this show has a very unrealistic premise. I personally found Jin-Joo raunchy, and found it quite unrealistic that So-Ra would continue to allow Jin-Joo to live with her...even after she was caught with one of the guys So-Ra had her eye on. In a realistic world, most women will not tolerate another woman who goes out of their way to take their man.

Many women will also not tolerate a messy roommate that steals their clothes and refuses to allow them to take a shower. However, the show continues to revolve around these unrealistic premises. In fact, they were so unrealistic, that I actually became angry at what I was watching. I did not find Jin-Joo interesting because I know women who are actually like that, and also know that not many would become friends with such a dysfunctional and selfish person. Rather, they would opt to either cut that person out of their lives or beat the hell out of them.

If you want to be ticked off about unrealistic plots, skank females that could never get away with the crap they do in this show, and people who are at work but never work, this is the show for you. However, if you want a romantic comedy that is more grounded and realistic, look over this one. I would suggest watching a show like "Because This Is My First Life" instead.

Hello, everyone! This is my first review, so please be kind :). First to say, I'm only at ep 7, but I feel like I've already got the whole idea of this show and that there is no need for me to wait more. So,here I go.
First of all, I have to say that I'm one of the persons that sided with the main girl, SoRa. I like her style of being hardworking, but I can't stand the way she lets her roomie toy with her. She's too kind, even through you don't always figure that out at first sight.Beeing manlier, with no make-up on and not caring about her apperance, she has been dessappointed by all of her boyfriends, never even kissing before. The other girl,on the other hand, t's so annoyng that I had a really great time trying to calm myself down while watching her selfish behaviour and her "I-deserve-everything" attitude. Geez, that type of girl really gets an my nerves. (She's pretty, trough)She doesn't even care about SoRa's sacrifices and her help.
Now about the guys. I don't know what to do, but I usually happen to side with the second main character. Hahaha. Well, that could be because I know from the beginning who's gonna end up with whom, so I kinda feel sorry for the other guy.
The story is nice.I like the idea of a guy chasing the girl, as it usually is the other way around(BTW, i'm a girl). Plus,it's a story about a first love, misunderstandings, 10 years passing by and love rivals. It has a lot of elements. But I can't say that I addore both the story and the acting. More like,I don't think the regizor was good enough. I had times(many of them) when I just couldn't stop myself from being bored. The story just dragged for too long. This was in the firs episodes.Just so you know, this problem will slowly dissappear. The acting isn't great either, especially that of the two main couple. The music was ok and present when necessary, to intensify the moment. I am not a type to rewatch a show, no matter how much I liked it. But as it is not one of those mystery shows, I don't think you should worry about spoilers on the second round.
As I've also seen in the other reviews, the side stories are indeed disturbing and taking a lot of time, but they can be funny in their own way.
Overall,I recommend this drama. It's funy and a bit of a change from your usually so typical stuff, like a girl chasing a guy until he sees how wonderful she is and falls in love with her.The story here begins with an old, first love story being destroied by a misunderstanding, with the girl being cared for by the guy. Have fun!

I think the rating for this drama could be a little higher. I enjoyed watching Jae Hee in the Delightful Girl Choon Hyang so I had to check out this drama. I was also intrigued by the low rating on this drama even though for me the synopsis seem good. This drama had potential in the beginning but the story just went haywire. The first 5 to 7 episodes were funny and somewhat romantic but then the remaining episodes up to the end became a roller coaster of emotional torture- my heart ached watching the actions/ decisions the characters were making and then repeat the same situations, so now the story is going around in circles. Music is OK there is one catchy song that I like. Cinematography is very good, it’s not obvious that this is a 10 year old drama except when you see the electronics, makeup, hairstyle and clothing. I like how the makeup of the main leads were not too thick and the male leads have natural features meaning no obvious cosmetic surgery (if any) and makeup. Sadly, romance is lacking but has a happy ending though. Watch this drama only if you are bored and intrigued otherwise you’ll regret wasting time.
