Where do I even begin?The acting was great. I love love love Nie Yuan and I soldiered through this just for him. But it's not for international fans or fans who don't speak the language. I have no issues with subtitles, but if you're going to sub something, do it properly. Whoever subbed this, only did the dialogue, so you miss out on the clues and stuff because the camera would zoom in on words and they just didn't bother subbing that.
I feel like i only got a part of what's happening and because this was a hot mess for me. I still don't get the reasoning behind the killer.
Bixin character is the worse TV cop I've ever seen and after a half of the episodes she was just too stupid to live. First of all she looked too young to have the rank she had. Secondly, she was careless, taking chances no sane cop would. She talks too much for a 'veteran' cop. It's like whatever came to her head came out her mouth.
And this is supposed to have romance in it. I see it but I really don't understand what China has against intimacy.
I am so disappointed in this... maybe if someone subbed it properly I will go back and watch and see how I feel about it. But as it stands right now, I don't get the high ranks it's getting

I love everything about this drama. Even the skit after they solved every case. It is slow paced in its on way but you will never get bored. I sometimes see myself questioning the acts of the character especially Ming Chuan because he is eccentric and doesn't explain himself. I also never expect this drama to have romance but i enjoyed it so much. Song Yi and Nie Yuan has great chemistry even when they're arguing. The teamwork was greatly emphasised in this drama. All characters have major contributions to the unfolding of each crime. So if you're into crime investigation/medical examiner with slice of romance drama you'll surely enjoy this. A MUST WATCH SERIES!
Since I love forensics and crime procedural drama, this is a must watch series. Though you may find it somewhat different from other series but I love the whole premise. It may not be as good as the GOD’s QUIZ which is my all time fave but still this one holds up.ML & FL are cute together despite their age. LOVE THEIR CHEMISTRY. No kissing but that doesn’t mean they can’t convey their feelings well. Their subtle gestures and flirting make my heart flutters.
I don’t usually make reviews unless I love the series. This one totally hooked me up. GIVE IT A TRY & YOU WILL SURELY LIKE IT!

Ok to watch on the side
Watched this purely because I wanted to watch a crime/investigation type of show with interesting cases. I didn't really mind this show but I was also treating it as a filler while I was waiting for another drama to be subbed.The cases were okay, there were some interesting points in them. But I felt like they weren't very well explained once they catch the person. Character wise, I had higher hopes for the female cop because I liked the actress and I think she started off okay. But I think she kind of went down the typical route after a while. I also felt like the medical examiner played too big of a role in the investigations.
After each case, there's some stage performance-esque skit at the end. I think this is a love it or hate it kind of thing. Personally, I wasn't really that into it. But my biggest biggest issue with this show is the background music. I tend not to notice this a lot but in this show, it was SO jarring and really does not give off the right vibe. You'll definitely know what I mean when you hear it, it makes me think of a Western saloon and just really does not fit either the theme or situations in the show.

First of all, I love this kind of plot (crime/forensics drama) with a hint of mystery and a budding romance.Acting wise: I like the fact that even though I'm not familiar with any of the actors and haven't seen them in any other drama, I think they did good.
Story wise: some plots were unnecessary. Some were really far fetch and scientifically unrealistic. But there are still some that made their mark on my mind. Like, the over worked mom who drowned in a fish tank. Another one would be the radio active stone, a father killed by his ex-wife. And then the almost cult like serial killings.
Musically speaking: it was so funny to hear musical scoring that sounds a lot like the old west movies.
