This drama went from cute and fluff to crazy and manipulative, then it explores the thriller and crime genre but finally made its way back to the family genre. What I liked about this drama is the chemistry of the leads, the cute antics and gestures the ML does for the FL, and the relationship between the leads and their close friends. I enjoyed the plot twist, in which I totally did not saw coming. I cursed the ML for doing what he did, but it was somewhat realistic that the ML and FL lead took some time to reconcile, so I kind of brushed off the absolute craziness that is the manipulative trick. Overall, I enjoyed it. Can’t wait for the second season with little baby! Was this review helpful to you?

It had every cliche in the drama handbook.Cold CEO
Plucky young girl who is an average person
Terminal Illness
2nd male lead who falls in love with the main female lead
The male lead gets amnesia due to car accident
Arch Enemy kidnaps the girl
Abandoned mother comes back to reconnect
Yet it was so much fun to watch because even though they put in the cliches they put a spin to them
Cold CEO is crazy for his wife and becomes a total flirt for her and breaks his cold character because of her
Terminal Illness as it turns out was fake he changed the results even though she only had Anemia
2nd male lead falls in love there was no fight for a love triangle he accepted it because the main lead is like a brother to him and would never betray him
The male lead gets amnesia due to car accident as it turns out was induced amnesia through hypnosis
Abandoned mother comes back to reconnect turns out she was only trying to reconnect to try and steal the company
So much fun!!!!

I actually look for this because of the synopsis. The story seems most likely to my interest. My office mate recommended the drama afterwards so I proceed. At first I would say it's pitiful that the female lead is diagnosed with leukemia even though she's so young. But then she later discovers that the male lead is plotting it all along. Somehow it's unacceptable to play with someone's health, but I can say I quite understand the male lead wants to keep her by his side.. It goes by saying that people are willing to do anything and never think first as long as it's for their beloved ones. I'm not going to spoil more so do watch it. It's definitely nice for those who love sweet romance, and maybe dreams of having a sweet husband who treats you like a princess ???? Was this review helpful to you?

i really can't write without spoilers damn
The plot isn't really fresh, quite cliche, actually. But who doesn't want a light watch every now and then right? Well Intended Love made my heart race a lot of times. The romantic scenes between the leads, and even between the side characters, really delivered.Plot wise, I actually didn't see the twists coming. Though not really grand and all, I actually enjoyed the twists. What more I loved was seeing these characters grow by episodes.
And our heroine was perfect the way she is. Maybe too trusting at some circumstances, but nevertheless, a good heroine. I'm so happy that she learned a few things about being too trusting in the latter episodes when she caught Yi Zhou's mom's schemes. And that scene where she stood up for her husband, telling the mom off about not being a good mom, boy that was nice.
Now onto CEO Ling. His character is questionable in the middle episodes. BOY I WAS SO MAD WHEN I FOUND OUT HIS MANIPULATIONS. I almost quit this drama because I was not here to see an unhealthy dynamic. He didn't want to admit his wrongs at first which made me pull my hair a little, because BOY YOU WERE WRONG. But with the help of the right people knocking some sense into him, and finally, him seeing that he DID wrong, he started to allow himself to learn. I liked that instead of forcing Xia Lin to forgive him, he promised to learn how to be better. I liked how he started to grasp the concept of respecting her decisions. He isn't perfect, he didn't magically learn that overnight, but he's allowed people to tell him off when he's being irrational. And what can I say? He really did love his wife so much.
Things that I liked in the drama:
- A drama that acknowledge that some parents can really be shitty. We can see that in our CEO's mom. There's no sugar coating, she really didn't care about her son in any way. And what's worse was that she hides all this behind a facade. I loved how Yi Zhou handled this situation in the end. A Man, really.
- THE LOVE TRIANGLE, or the lack of thereof. I'm so in love with the way Chu Yan handled his feelings. He didn't even think of making a move even when Xia Lin was vulnerable. He respected her. He cared so much about what she felt. He did so much for her, and didn't expect anything in return. Now this is a GOOD second lead! Not imposing and demanding. I hope other writers take note.
- SIDE CHARACTERS! Wenli and Jia Fei really are the cutest! I enjoyed watching their story.
- Healthy relationship. Well, I know it wasn't always healthy from the beginning, but I really liked that they learned to turn their relationship into a healthy one. See, what I liked is that they grew from their earlier selves. They learned to be better and respect each other's decisions.
OVERALL, it was a nice watch. I think I'll find myself rewatching this in the future.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!I absolutely loved it!!!!
Highly dramatic? yes!
morally wrong? Yes!
totally worth it? yes!
i really liked this drama! i am soo glad i watched it... the storyline, cast and acting is pretty good... one thing i loved the most about this drama was the fact that the female lead was never dumb and gullible! there were so many occasions when she was underestimated but she handled the situation so well! i honestly thought the female lead would end up having a miscarriage in the end.. but i'm so glad that didn't happen! there's apparently going to be a season 2 and i'm eagerly looking forward to it!

I started this drama at a time when I was bored and nothing I tried could hold my attention for more than a few episodes. This romance starts as your typical cliché and I didn't expect anything more from it than a few cute moments, because let's be real, the lead couple is the main attraction. But boy was I wrong.
Of course you get your typical cdrama/kdrama clichés, there's more to it. Somehow, I didn't roll my eyes into the back of my head everytime because it just flowed so seamlessly.
c h a r a c t e r s
The characters are the heart of this show and what make it deserving of your attention.
The female lead is surprisingly level-headed and doesn't make misunderstandings bigger than they need to be. She is genuinely normal and thinks like a mature human being. Mumu has her goal, is working towards it, and is not unrealistically naive as to how she is going to reach it. Although I did find towards the last episodes she seemed to forget about that more and more. When there is something she doesn't understand, she just asks about it. And that's something you don't see too often in this drama world.
Now unto the shining star of this series, the male lead ! Think you're getting the typical i'm-so-stone-faced-you-will-never-guess-i'm-a-poor-actor-arrogant-CEO character ? Think again. Xu Kaicheng delivers a beautiful, refreshing twist of this classic trope. Past the first couple episodes Yizhou stops giving the RBF altogether and we get to see a real human being. Once they agree to get married, he stops being a jerk for the lolz and actually treats his wife with care ! And when we start to notice his abnormal tendencies, would you believe me if I said Mumu is not okay with it either ? And when they disagree they actually talk it through ? I couldn't believe my eyes, COMMUNICATION kids. A mature relationship in a cdrama, is Jesus coming back or something ?
Their chemistry is through the roof, real kisses and cheesy moments but we're here for it. Let me fangirl for a minute.
*SPOILER ABOUT THE PLOT TWIST* He does display abusive, sociopathic behavior, but nowhere in the show is it portrayed as being ok. On the contrary, they clearly showed his father controlling his mom the same way and his mom leaving because of it. Mumu probably forgave him too early but I think looking at the circumstances, and at how he tried to change, they handled it ok. Could have been better, but ok.*END SPOILER*
Anyway, that plot twist is the main reason I liked the show better than I should have. Yizhou is not your perfect brooding prince with mommy issues (ofc he still has mommy issues but he deals with them just fine), he actually has a major and atypical flaw that turns the whole story around. And I LOVED that not only the female lead, but also the viewer was deceived about him.
Chu Yan also delivered, fantastic comedic relief and he never gave into the love triangle temptation.
Now the villain. The villain is the weak point. Poorly written, and one-dimensional, I didn't get what is goal was 100% until the end. He just needed some love and a good therapist. I think he could potentially have been more interesting as another love rival (I mean he was pretty cute) but maybe that's too cliché...
s t o r y
Plot-twists left and right, it seems like the writers were trying really hard to avoid us being bored. Mission accomplished, but the story in itself is nothing to write about. It was entertaining enough.
Overall, I love it and would recommend, just for the interactions between the 3 main characters. Watch this show being mindful of its title, because it all makes sense in the end. Every kind love is "well-intended" but that doesn't mean it's right ;)

Refreshing Plot
Overall : I did enjoy the experience because the main characters have A nice chemistry. The plot is just absolutely refreshing because it has original tone to it compared to other shows so there won’t be or should I say less recycled scenes compared to other dramas which has quite a number of cliché same old plot. It’s been probably three years since I watch this drama and I can absolutely say that looking back I was glad I watched it. It’s one of those classic Comedy what the heck drama that I’ve watch. It reminds me of the 10 miles of blossom peaches wherein you watch the drama and at some point you say what the heck. What a new twist !
Pro:
Good Chemistry
Great Writing. Makes you say What!
It’s an enjoyable ride!

She was diagnosed with leukemia, he was the only match. This sounded like a great storyline, however it was discarded real quickly to be replaced with; Rich man proposes marriage contract to D-list actress. The illness was just a creative way for them to “meet” although there is a plot twist involving the illness.
I didn’t like the plot twist only because it involved the main lead acting out of character, in my opinion. It caused me to look at him differently yet be forced to overlook it all because well “love”.
It does have a lot of the common drama factors:
-childhood friend who gets jealous of his new love interest
-best friend starts liking the main lead
-cute second lead couple syndrome, which I wish got some more time in the story
-crazy family drama
-loving grandma
-cute one liners
-kidnapping
-amnésia
-betrayal
-scandal
One added bonus was at the end of every episode there was an extra extended clip of one of the scenes earlier in the episode.
Some of my favorite one liners:
Online ID “make money for mumu”
“Grandma wants a great-grandson”
“I’ll teach you how to hold your breath”
I also appreciated the slight character development of the main female lead, I wish there was more.
Ending rating: 6
The ending felt a little rushed. I wish there was one final moment for the Main leads. However I read they are making a season 2 so maybe that’s what influenced the ending.

This is the first time I have written a review for a drama... so bear with me? I started watching this with an open mind after seeing all the reviews - both good and bad, so I did not have that much expectation? Overall, it was ok, it's not one of those WOW drama. Would I rewatch this drama? probably not.. some scenes were cute.. I might replay those eps but I would not watch the entire drama again. But I am looking forward to see how season 2 will be like.
- may contain spoiler from here on...
Storyline - the drama as a whole in terms of the storyline was ok? But, some of the storylines feel incomplete? Like the way Chu Yan was kidnapped and why Yi Zhou's mother acts the way she did at the end? I need more to those stories!! Also JiaFei and Wen Li's story and Chu Yan and Tong XiaoYou's story could be more elaborated? And An Ran.. I feel like her character was rather clumsily portrayed? It's not particularly the actress's fault but rather the character development (??) was not very good. The thing that got me a bit weird out was the extreme possessiveness of Yi zhou. If I was Xia lin/ Mu Mu, I would feel very creeped out, and it was very hypocritical of Yi Zhou to do what he did. If you can get over the creepiness of his actions, the rest of the drama is somewhat cute?
Acting - overall, it was ok.. not superb...there were some scenes where the male and female lead could have expressed/acted out better? They look unnatural in those scenes.. but it's only a few scenes? They have potential for sure! I hope they show some improvement in season 2.
OST - the opening song lyrics is catchy... 我还是很喜欢你~~~

MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND: Don't let those who judge Dramatic FICTION..
..by their individual morals make your choices for you. Dramas are all works of fiction that are meant to be dramatic.- [ ] We suspend our disbelief every time we watch a series with impossible storylines, cliched tropes and unrealistic romances.
- [ ] We overlook some of the more egregious plots because the MC are good looking and the chemistry between them is palatable.
- [ ] We will slog through episodes that are nothing more than recycled scenes under the guise of flashbacks just for those moments that make us tense with anticipation, laugh out loud, and our hearts flutter.
- [ ] We ignore narrative devices such as the plot armor that protects protagonists from certain death over and over because we like the character.
- [ ] We suspend our disbelief at yet another 2nd Lead who stalks the Lead , laying claim and demanding reciprocation of a one-sided love based on the fact that they grew up together.
- [ ] We happily pretend that silly interns enter into glamorous marriage contracts with rich CEOs in the 20th century and it ends up in life long love.
- [ ] We snicker at the thought of a cold landing you in the hospital.
- [ ] We play along with grown adults pretending to be 30 year old virgins.
- [ ] We shake our heads at the notion of wearing tiny jean shorts, a blazer, sneakers and hair in pig-tails is completely acceptable in a corporate office.
- [ ] We roll our eyes when females trip on air only to have the male catch them and spin a full 360 circle in the middle of the street.
Yet when any gray area, no matter ridiculously over-the-top it is presented, causes some offense great or small to some viewers, suddenly the fiction in the drama becomes real. The fantasy bubble is popped for them and now they must pop it for everyone else who still understands that it is still just fiction. It is like watching a cartoon and freaking out when dogs start speaking. "Dogs can't talk!" but it was fine when the hero flew the spaceship?
The dark and unexpected ploy twist here caught me off guard, and it was a very f*uck@d up thing to do, no argument there. But it is still fiction, it didn't really happen. It was a twist designed to stoke moral outrage, as most are crafted to do. This one just happened to be a little darker, but importantly original and unexpected. They got us!
They caught us while we were pacified in a fugue of romance stereotypes. You may not agree with how they got you,
but they did, and as long as you keep it within the confines of the dramatic fantasy, enjoy the ride.
Scream, holler, cry, clutch your pearls and wag your judgmental finger at the CHARACTER within the confines of the in the DRAMA! Rather, try to appreciate the fact that it made you think and feel some type of way in a way you never have before, and rejoice that you got more than you bargained for. How often can you say that these days?
Please don't take the magic of storytelling away from others because it doesn't follow your moral playbook.
That's not fair. Every time a few create an unnecessary moral frenzy over a fictional story, more and more productions are afraid to take chances on fresh and original material. Then we all have to suffer endless, boring repetitions of 'safe' and predictable series, books, films, all of which are art, and art is not supposed to be 'safe' and predictable.
The reviews for the Chinese series’ Well Intended Love, Circle of Love, and the Taiwanese series, Before We Get Married, has suffered unfairly at the hands of armchair, self-appointed moralists who have ceased thinking for themselves, but want to think for you, don't let them. Protect Asian Media, Protect Art! We need to encourage writers, directors and actors to continue to create original takes on familiar themes even if you don't agree with them. I think we can all agree that the Nazis are reprehensible, but the movie Schindler's List resplendent. I am morally opposed to war, all wars, and I adore The English Patient. I don't agree with adult females acting like school girls, it affects my moral feminism, but I will never dismiss a series for it, I will suspend my disbelief because that is part of the viewing contract. The dynamic and exciting relationship between the ‘observed’ and the ‘observer’ is one to cherish, not admonish.
