oh this is my first review ^^ oh it is a shame that in my first review i give 1/10 to this isn't it? i didn't finish the drama but even if they extend this to 30 more ep ill still have the same opinion about it ...
where to start ?xD i first 'from 1st ep to 8th ep" loooved it !! heart it !! like 20/10 !!!! 10 stars !! i was totally in love ..because of the music ..and mblaq xD and because the main actress was actually good or at least better then "go mi nam" this drama gave me a nice feeling a mix of YB and CP and DH //however !!! after few ep it turned into a mess a horrible mix of poor acting skills with a weird storyline that stands on ...nothing !! it was a mess all over the place i couldn't believe that this could happen on a Korean drama i was shocked
i don't want to give spoilers but all i can say is !their reaction to her been a boy is silly !! go to coffee prince for some lessons !! the only good thing was the music i enjoyed it but again at the second half it wasn't abt music it was abt !! well something else i don't noe yet wat it is hhh but yeh !! overall it's very poor totally failed and im not usally harsh on kdrama but im sorry i needed to say the truth
as i said you will probably enjoy or like or accept the first half of it then you ll be disappointed
the music is good
acting needs more and more skills and experience but the main lead is acceptable and with a nice story i think she ll be pretty good she is cute in a good way xD
my last words !! pleas !!! cheball !! i beg you !! do not !ever !!ever compare this to coffee prince or dream high or YRB !! especially not !! coffee prince xD

Wow I was so shocked, I really don't like it when a drama or a film doesn't have a clear ending and this one didn't, it was so unexpected. Apart from that I like the storyline was okay although it was a bit similar to others, I don't know there's this current thing for gender bender dramas.

I thought the actors where good, there was some awkward acting but it was understandable. I really liked the sound track and it wasn't too dramatic like most dramas so i guess it was good.

What to say... I really loved the story in this. A lot of people have said that it's a lot like You're Beautiful, but I really don't think so. Sure, it has music and a girl dressing up as a guy. But this show focuses more on music and character development than You're Beautiful did, which is mostly a love story.
I can't post spoilers, so I won't point to examples where these are different.
I really love the cast as well, they really fit their roles and utilize the character in the best way. Their expressions and voices fit the portrayed emotion perfectly.
The music is amazing. The songs stick to your brain and moves you to the point of almost crying when used in the right scene. They're catchy and/or beautiful, so I have no complaints.
One day, I would most likely love to rewatch this if I have the possibility. It has it all: Comedy, bitter romance, romance and that don't give up your dreams feeling.
The only reason why I haven't given it a 10 the whole way through is because the story has some small, pointless scenes that it could do without, and I don't think I've ever given a show a 10 on rewatch value. I feel like that would mean I definitely would, and that really isn't the case.
But it's a great show, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. So just give it a try, I promise you won't regret it. :)

although this drama suffers from being compared to you're beautiful which was a masterpiece. this drama itself was not a joke. the music was great, in that i am not so into rap but i liked it this time. the girl was actually a tom boy, it was way different from you're beautiful this girl was more daring and it was short so i watched it really quickly. however the story was a bit simple but also interesting. i loved it

Okay it being similar to You're Beautiful is just a bad fact about it. It might be similar but both are different dramas so stop comparing. Now about the drama, I actually really liked it until they left me so freaking clueless at the end. The final episode left me so curious of what happened. But I liked the drama in general. It was so funny and made you want to watch more.

It was very similar to You're Beautiful, but I have to say that I kinda liked this one better, though the end leaves us in doubt, not sure of what will happen with M2 Junior. But I liked it, there were really cute couple scenes and the friendship between the Juniors was really good to watch as long as it was growing up. I recommend it.

I don't know why people keep referring to this drama as rip off of You're beautiful. It's not. I agree it has some similarities but the the whole point and concept of the show is different. In YB the Go MiNam was forced to act as a guy and be a part of the band. In Kpop ultimate audition Ji SeungYeon chose to act as a guy in order to get in the band. See the major difference? I really enjoyed YB and I definitely enjoyed Kpop UA too. Both of them are musical gender benders and are bound to be somewhat similar.
Kpop UA captures you right from the very beginning of the episode. It's exciting and interesting and you really have no idea what could happen in the very next second. It is funny and different from most gender benders. The Main lead is strong and is not afraid to do what she wants. She's got her ups and down because of her feelings, I mean it is a romantic drama and that's too be expected. Go EunAh did a perfect job in portraying the character. Next comes WooHyun. Ricky Park is so freaking adorable in this drama. He's just amazing. And those times when he smiles and you see the dimples! It's just cuteness overdose. I think he did a fantastic job as WooHyun. It was perfect. The emotions and the actions, you just know that they're not acting for the sake of it. Along comes the rest of the guys. I personally like SeungYeon and JiWoo's friendship. Honestly I envy their friendship. The M2 members also performed very well. At times it did feel a little too exaggerated but it was okay. And it's filled with members of idol boy bands so you kinda get like flavor of all the personalities. The friendship and the relationship of the members of M2 is really well portrayed. It kinda gives an insight on the workings of annEntertainment Industry and that it's not all fun and games.
All In all, I think the drama was really good but I still don't get why it was cut short. I believe it would have been one of the loved musical dramas if it would have continued on as a 16 episode sitcom like planned. i guess it because people thinks it's like YB that they don't give this wonderful drama a chance. It is a worth watch. Even if you insist on giving up just see YooHwan smile and you'll want to watch it over and over again. And believe me, it is not a total ripoff of You're beautiful. It's got its own story. The ending is very disappointing but then again it's not the writer or the directors fault. It's our own fault because this show was not getting enough views ("due to its similarities to YB").
Otherwise it's an amazing drama with awesome cast and rocking OSTs.

The drama started off rather bland for my usual KDrama taste. There was nothing catchy for its pilot episode and it basically dragged about up to the 3rd episode but after sticking up with this drama, things started to get more interesting. The story line has picked up to a much better pace. There were more interaction between the characters and everything started to finally make sense.

I was already having fun watching it for all the humor and what-not’s until episode 12 came about. That’s when the story line drastically changed, it began to spin around senselessly aiming nowhere and it was plainly a disaster. I realized that the writers never really thought of giving proper closure to each of the character's problem, specially on the main ones due to the cut episodes. This drama was supposed to air 16 episodes, instead they decided to make do with 14, ending up with a rubbish ending.

Episode 13-14 was produced in a haste. Maybe its the production management but I have a hunch they couldn’t extend the drama up to 16 episodes due to the bad ratings. The story, the characters and the over all production had so much potential if only they have been developed properly.

Yes, everything has been all fun and cute in the middle of the series but the ending plainly sucked. There was a lot of loopholes and never ending problems. Episode 14 had this sort of time snap where everything was cut and then here comes out the protagonist saying “everything is going to be okay” just to resolve the very main conflict in the story which is: The female protagonist pretending to be a boy in an all male K-pop idol group.

How the heck do you resolve that in one freaking episode?

Episode 14 was clearly telling the audience that the conflict was resolved, but in reality… they just don’t have the time to resolve it. Period.

There… I finally got that out of my system. I don’t even like K-pop music, or am I a fan of K-pop Idols in general. I only wanted to watch this because of the story line: A girl pretending to be a boy for some important self-inflicted reason.

Sigh.

I need a better drama to watch or a movie. Rating this drama 5/10 for the sole reason that I enjoyed the middle part of the series but at the same time want to forget that I even dared watching it.

It really did ended so suddenly.
So many questions were left unanswered.

This drama didn't fulfill my expectations - I had hoped for something more. It was a bit boring in places.
I can say that ep 5- 10 were the most interesting ones. 8 and 9 especially - I couldn't stop watching.. but the rest of it - the storyline was kept up but there was not enough exitement.
The ending was really rushed.

BUT somehow I liked the ending - it wasn't THAT bad - the ending scenes were cute at least - made me smile. May be sometimes it's not necessary to give concrete answers about everything.

Storyline wasn't something new. Actors were nice - I've seen better - I wasn't strongly sympathized by the main actors. ( I guess that's individual )
I liked those songs they used - but there were too less of them in my oppinion as it was supposed to be a drama including music..

I wouldn't rewatch it.

If you're bored looking for something to watch then give it a try, but I would recommend it only if you don't have something better to watch or if you're really sympathised by the actors or the whole being a team and sticking together kind of theme.

I am going to write a short review on this ^^.
I liked the storyline, though I could say that I've seen so many dramas ,where the girl is mistaken as a boy that I am starting to get sick of it heh-. Sometimes it would get boring though since it'd always happen the same; Something good, someone screws everything up, back to good and so it goes on.
The cast was daebak though. I liked the acting as well [ Song Mino aaahhh ]
Music was awesome too, totally my style- ( tho I really don't understand, come on that was a girl's voice )
I'd surely recommend it. If you like music, romantic adventure or anything related it's totally worth watching ^^

- Small spoiler; the ending was disappointing indeed, there's a lot of questions unanswered. Couldn't help but smile during the bloopers in the end tho lol -

So painfully tropy, full of cliches and loads of bad acting all around. However this is one of those genderbenders that makes the main lead go through some angst before the reveal. High scores for not being scared of exploring that story. Sadly I t was just a small detour (and not as big a part as Coffe Prince), but the reason I watched. Female lead is much, much too aegyo, however her char is a kick arse no nonsense female.

I also don't know how I could stand watching this to the end considering it had, not one, but two female backstabbing trouble making bitches. That's by now such a bad cliche any drama that uses it should get poked with heated iron rods and thrown out for the dogs to rip apart.

Good music, cute side characters, lots of eye candy, super tropy and sadly rushed ending.

Disappointing

While watching the drama, I found it very entertaining.

I liked most of the characters and most of the story. Unfortunately, the characters and the plot points I didn't like, often annoyed me and took me out of the story.
And although, as I said, I liked most of the story, the ending (no spoilers) was very disappointing.

I have never asked myself this question at the end of a drama until I saw this:
"Is this, the end? Is that all?"

The drama was ok. Unfortunately, I would not watch it again or recommend it.
